15: 15. Block

The dream shattered with a crash, and Lu Feng woke up from it, his back already drenched in cold sweat.

At this moment, the sky outside the window was just beginning to lighten. Lu Feng was completely awake. He wiped the sweat from his forehead, picked up his phone, and saw June 9th... 6:13 AM... The bloody scene of Ding Zhiyuan dismembering a body replayed in his mind, persistent. Lu Feng only felt parched; he got up, poured himself a large glass of cold water, and drank it, which finally helped him calm down a bit.

This was the most terrifying dream he had experienced since he gained his abilities! It was practically challenging his physiological limits!

No! That’s not right!

Lu Feng suddenly gripped the cup tightly, his expression growing more solemn.

He suddenly realized that the higher the level of the dream, the less fantastical elements it contained. So, what was depicted in this red dream bubble, could it be something that had already happened, Ding Zhiyuan's indelible memory?!

Lu Feng's breathing became rapid. To confirm this idea, he began to retrace the dream images he had just seen, bit by bit.

Fortunately, his memory was now extraordinary; all images could be paused, magnified, and replayed like a media player.

When he replayed the living room scene, after Ding Zhiyuan's slap, the perspective just happened to shift to the living room wall, where an electronic wall clock was hanging.

The clock showed June 8th, 7:27 PM... "Last night... he killed his ex-wife!?"

Lu Feng gasped, instinctively reaching for his phone to call the police, but his hand stopped halfway to his ear.

Because this matter was impossible to explain; he couldn't just say he dreamt that Ding Zhiyuan was going to kill someone, could he? He would probably be arrested for making a false report.

Lu Feng paced back and forth in the room, agitated.

Ding Zhiyuan's situation was indeed tragic. He had been cuckolded for over a decade. If not for his son's recent physical examination, where he accidentally discovered the wrong blood type, he still wouldn't have known the children weren't his.

He had foolishly raised someone else's children for over ten years.

What made it most unbearable for him was that even his son knew his true identity; he was the only one in the family kept in the dark.

After the exposure, his wife, Ma Fen, not only showed no remorse but instead threw caution to the wind, moving directly into her lover's home with the children and demanding a share of even the last remaining property.

Ding Zhiyuan was too tragic; he had every right to be angry. Lu Feng couldn't stop him if he wanted to take revenge personally.

But he shouldn't lose his mind, take his anger out on others, and ruthlessly kill innocent people at the school.

"Should I help?" Lu Feng was incredibly conflicted.

He never considered himself a superhero overflowing with a sense of justice; not becoming Homelander was already his biggest bottom line.

There would certainly be police at the entrance of the college entrance examination campus, but it couldn't stop a premeditated attack.

Although he didn't have many good friends at school, everyone usually got along well. Lu Feng knew he couldn't just pretend he knew nothing and watch innocent classmates be slaughtered.

After a moment of contemplation, Lu Feng finally sighed. Perhaps in the future, he would view such matters indifferently, keeping his distance, but at this moment, he still decided to intervene. However, the prerequisite was not to expose his abilities; he didn't want to be sliced and studied at such a young age.

The sky outside brightened, and Lu Feng looked at the clock again; it was already past seven.

He slapped his forehead, suddenly remembering that today's exam time wasn't nine o'clock, but started at eight-thirty.

He quickly put on his clothes, grabbed his tool bag, and rushed out the door.

After Lu Feng went downstairs, he immediately scanned for a shared electric bicycle and rode off.

Feeling the warm wind on his face, his mind raced.

Would it be feasible to activate the forced dream ability when Ding Zhiyuan pulls out his weapon and prepares to act?

But the next second, he dismissed it, because this ability had a distance requirement—at least within his line of sight. But there were many people at the school gate, and once a murder was seen, everyone would flee for their lives. If he fell into a dream then, he might be trampled to death.

That would be too unfair.

Should he tell the police and school leaders when he arrived? Again, there was no evidence, and he didn't want to expose his abilities.

So the only way was to create an accident before Ding Zhiyuan made his move!

But what kind of accident would be reasonable?

Just then, the traffic light at the intersection turned red. Lu Feng squeezed the brake, but it didn't hold; it was very loose. Frightened, he quickly used his feet to stop.

Just as he was about to complain about the operator not checking, a flash of inspiration suddenly struck Lu Feng's mind!

"I've got it! Isn't this a ready-made solution!"

...As the school got closer and closer, the flow of people gradually increased. Parents with students could be seen everywhere, standing on both sides, waiting.

The square at the school gate was cordoned off with railings, creating an open space as an entrance channel for candidates, so it wasn't congested.

From a distance, Lu Feng saw Zhou Wenmei and the school leaders standing at the entrance on duty, chatting with the police nearby, while the security guard Ding Zhiyuan stood outside the square with a grim expression, scanning the passing crowd.

"Good, I'm still in time!"

No sooner had he spoken than the school bell rang, signaling that entry was allowed!

The candidates in the crowd came out one after another, slowly walking towards the school gate under the hopeful gazes of their parents.

As more and more students approached him, a murderous glint flashed in Ding Zhiyuan's eyes, and he reached behind his uniform.

Now is the time!!

Lu Feng didn't have time to think; he twisted the electric bicycle's throttle to the maximum, and the electric bike instantly accelerated!

"Get out of the way, get out of the way, the brakes are out!" he shouted, feigning terror.

This shout immediately attracted the attention of everyone present. Everyone turned their heads to look, only to see a student riding an electric bicycle speeding towards them, the handlebars wobbling, completely out of control.

The students scattered to both sides in fright.

Fortunately, the bell had just rung, and not many people had reached the school gate yet, allowing Lu Feng to rush unimpeded towards Ding Zhiyuan.

Ding Zhiyuan had just pulled out a boning knife hidden behind him when he was violently struck by the oncoming electric bicycle.

"Bang!"

The wheel, by an unfortunate coincidence, hit Ding Zhiyuan's rear ankle. Ding Zhiyuan screamed, lost his balance, and fell forward to the ground, pinned beneath Lu Feng and the electric bicycle.

"Clang!"

The boning knife flew out of his hand and rolled a few times on the ground.

Several parents nearby were about to step forward to help, but upon seeing the gleaming boning knife, their faces instantly changed dramatically.

"Ahhhhhh!!! A knife!!!"

A scream pierced the sky.
