116: Chapter 116 Vampire Clan, Blood Ancestor!
The first year of time acceleration.
Eight million captives were settled on nine new patches of land at the edge of the Netherworld World. The grayish-white Yin Qi was like an invisible cage, shrouding every area. No race could escape this world permeated with Yin Qi, and no race was willing to try.
Because beyond the borders of the Netherworld, there was only nothingness.
The first batch of conflicts occurred in the third year.
The Blood Race was the first to become restless.
The memory of the Blood Sea Realm being breached by Meng Po alone was a humiliation carved into the very marrow of the Blood Race's bones. Six hundred and fifty thousand members of the Blood Race were imprisoned at the edge of the Blood Sea Abyss, watching every day as that crimson sea of blood was eroded bit by bit by the grayish-white Yin Qi, the hatred in their hearts churning like boiling water.
The elders of the Blood Race gathered in the deepest depths of the Blood Sea Abyss, using fresh blood to condense an altar. They carved ancient runes onto the altar; though these runes constantly dimmed under the erosion of the Yin Qi, every time they faded, a member of the Blood Race would offer their own blood to relight them.
They wanted to summon the Blood Ancestor.
That Blood Ancestor whose existence had been erased by a single bowl of Meng Po's soup.
"As long as the Blood Ancestor returns, we can break through this cage of Yin Qi." Grand Elder Arcadius stood before the altar, his blood-red eyes sweeping over every member of the Blood Race present. "The Netherworld's Yin Qi counters us, but the Blood Ancestor's power is enough to rival that old hag's soup."
"But Elder," a young member of the Blood Race whispered, "that old hag... she alone..."
"Shut up!" Arcadius interrupted him sharply. "That was because the Blood Ancestor was careless. The Blood Ancestor had been slumbering in the sea of blood for a thousand years, and his power hadn't fully recovered. This time, we will be better prepared."
He paused, his voice becoming even deeper.
"Furthermore, we don't just have the Blood Ancestor."
He took out a dark red crystal core from his robes. The crystal core was only the size of a thumb, but it contained heart-palpitating energy fluctuations. It was a drop of essence blood that the Blood Ancestor had stripped from his own heart before his fall, sealed within this crystal core.
"The Blood Ancestor's essence blood, combined with the blood of our six hundred and fifty thousand kin, is enough to summon a Blood God." A hint of madness flashed in Arcadius's eyes. "A Blood God's strength is even greater than the Blood Ancestor's."
The seventh year.
The summoning ritual was complete.
Above the Blood Sea Abyss, blood-red light tore through the grayish-white Yin Qi.
A blood-colored figure a hundred zhang tall rose from the altar. Its body was condensed from countless blood droplets, each one the life essence of a member of the Blood Race. Its eyes were two clusters of burning blood-flames, and its roar shook the entire Blood Sea Abyss.
Blood God. Peak Rank Six.
The moment the Blood God was born, six hundred and fifty thousand members of the Blood Race knelt on the ground simultaneously. Their bodies were trembling—not out of fear, but out of excitement. The Blood God's aura was stronger than the Blood Ancestor's, purer than the Blood Ancestor's, and closer to the essence of blood than the Blood Ancestor's.
"Children of the Blood God," Arcadius stood up, his blood-red eyes burning with fanaticism, "follow me and break out of this cage of Yin Qi! Let those ghostly creatures of the Netherworld witness the power of the Blood Race!"
The Blood God was the first to charge out; the boundary of the Blood Sea Abyss was like thin paper before it. Behind it, six hundred and fifty thousand members of the Blood Race transformed into blood-colored bats that filled the sky, swarming toward the heart of the Netherworld World.
Their target was the New Era Ruins. The human settlements. Those believers who prayed daily and emitted grayish-white light.
The Blood Race needed blood to restore their strength, and human blood, nourished by Yin Qi, contained the purest life force.
The first war broke out.
The Blood Race's offensive came too quickly—so quickly that the priests of the Netherworld Church didn't have time to organize a defense.
The Blood God was the first to descend upon Wangxiang City, a small town on the edge of the New Era Ruins. Its blood-flames incinerated the city walls, its roar shattered the houses, and its body blotted out the sun, shrouding the entire town in blood-red light.
Before the town's residents could even flee, they were submerged by the Blood Race.
Those blood-colored bats landed on humans, biting through their skin and sucking their blood. Human screams rose and fell, and grayish-white Power Of Faith drifted from them, only to be devoured by the blood-red light.
But Wangxiang City was no ordinary human settlement.
This was the birthplace of the first batch of Rakshasas.
Zhao Tiezhu's wife, that woman with an enchanting face and a graceful figure, was currently standing on the ruins of Wangxiang City. No one remembered her name anymore; everyone called her the "Rakshasa Queen." Her human name had been forgotten in the long river of time, replaced by this title representing power and slaughter.
The Rakshasa Queen's rank: Peak Rank Four.
Beside her, three thousand Rakshasa warriors had already formed ranks. Their bodies were generally over three meters tall, their bluish-gray skin covered in keratinous scales, and their dark-gold vertical pupils flickered with a bloodthirsty luster in the blood-red light.
"Blood Race?" The Rakshasa Queen licked the corner of her mouth, revealing a gruesome smile. "Just as well, I haven't tasted vampires yet."
She raised her hand, her sharp claws carving an arc through the blood-light.
"Rakshasas, kill!"
Three thousand Rakshasas charged at once. Their speed was faster than the Blood Race, their strength greater, and their claws and teeth sharper. A single Rakshasa warrior could tear apart ten members of the Blood Race, and a Rakshasa Centurion could tear apart a hundred.
The Blood Race's formation was torn open with a massive gap.
But the Blood God arrived.
The Blood God's blood-flames scorched the earth, its roar shattered the sky, and its giant palm struck down, crushing dozens of Rakshasa warriors into meat paste. The Rakshasa Queen's claws tore at the Blood God's body, ripping away a large chunk of blood-colored flesh, but that body instantly reconsolidated as if it had never been injured.
Rank Four against Rank Six; the gap was too vast.
The Rakshasa Queen let out a furious roar, dark-gold blood-qi churning around her. Her body began to swell, growing from two meters to three, then from three meters to four. Her fangs became more prominent, her claws sharper, and her keratinous scales thicker.
Rank Five.
Breaking through in the midst of battle.
But Rank Five against Peak Rank Six was still not enough.
The Blood God's giant palm struck down once more, sending the Rakshasa Queen flying. She crashed through the town's city wall and slammed into the ground, creating a pit ten zhang deep. Her body was covered in cracks, dark-gold blood gushing from them, and her aura was rapidly declining.
"Rakshasa Queen!" The Rakshasa warriors let out angry roars and desperately charged toward the Blood God, but the Blood God's blood-flames were too powerful; the Rakshasa warriors fell one by one within the flames.
Su Bai, who was overlooking the entire Netherworld World, also discovered this matter.
