4: Chapter 4's second hero unit: Slit-Mouthed Woman!

[Power Of Faith +100]

[Power Of Faith +100]

[Current Power Of Faith: 200]

200 points.

Su Bai closed his eyes and began to sketch in his mind.

The Netherworld civilization needed a complete system.

The Ghost Bride was the incarnation of resentment, but the Netherworld could not consist of resentment alone. It also needed maintainers of order, executors of judgment, and existences that could deter wandering souls.

Black and White Impermanence.

Soul-reapers who claimed lives, impartial and selfless.

Su Bai attempted to construct them.

[Insufficient Power Of Faith]

200 points of Power Of Faith.

Not enough.

Su Bai frowned and gave up.

Ox-Head and Horse-Face.

Netherworld Ghost Soldiers, possessing infinite strength.

[Insufficient Power Of Faith]

Power Of Faith was still insufficient.

Su Bai's frown deepened.

The consumption for these legendary existences would be this immense.

But it was normal; after all, Black and White Impermanence and Ox-Head and Horse-Face were considered part of the Netherworld's formal establishment.

The formal establishment was out of reach for now.

Then he could only start constructing from the most basic level.

Yin Soldiers.

The most basic combat units of the Netherworld, possessing no self-awareness, only executing orders, tireless, and fearing neither life nor death.

[Power Of Faith Consumed: 1 point]

[Confirm?]

Su Bai's eyes lit up.

1 point each.

He tried to construct one.

Gray-white Yin Qi condensed before him, gradually sketching a blurry human outline. The outline became clearer and clearer, finally transforming into a soldier wearing tattered armor and holding a rusty spear.

[Yin Soldier]

[Rank: Tier 1]

[Grade: 1-Star]

[Skills: None]

[Description: The most basic combat unit condensed from Yin Qi. No self-awareness, absolute obedience to orders. Can slowly recover from injuries in a Yin Qi environment.]

Su Bai looked at the blurry-faced Yin Soldier before him and nodded with satisfaction.

One-star, Tier 1, no skills, cannot evolve.

But the greatest advantage was that it didn't need to breathe, eat, or require any resources to maintain its existence. If it died, it simply returned to Yin Qi, and another could be recreated for just 1 point of Power Of Faith.

This was the fundamental cornerstone of the Netherworld civilization.

Su Bai was in no hurry to continue creating Yin Soldiers; instead, he began thinking about the second hero unit.

The Ghost Bride was responsible for resentment absorption, evolving by devouring Yin Qi and the resentment of the deceased. However, her combat style leaned toward the eerie and cursed, lacking frontal suppression capabilities.

He needed a hero who excelled at combat.

Su Bai closed his eyes, recalling the horror legends he had seen in his past life.

Slit-Mouthed Woman.

A woman wearing a surgical mask, holding scissors, who would ask passersby, "Am I beautiful?" If they answered no, she would kill them with the scissors; if they answered yes, she would remove her mask, revealing a mouth slit to her ears, and ask the same question again.

A classic existence from urban legends.

Eerie, lethal, and impossible to gauge with common sense.

Su Bai opened his eyes, his fingers sketching in the void.

[Power Of Faith Consumed: 100 points]

[Create Species: Slit-Mouthed Woman]

[Species Type: Hero Unit]

[Initial Level: Tier 1]

[Potential Ceiling: 3-Star]

Yin Qi surged.

It surged even more violently than when the Ghost Bride was created.

The gray-white mist converged frantically in front of Su Bai, spinning and compressing, gradually sketching a new figure.

A white dress.

Long black hair.

On her pale face, she wore a white surgical mask that covered the lower half of her face.

In her hand, she held a pair of massive scissors, the blades glinting with a ghostly, cold light.

The Slit-Mouthed Woman slowly opened her eyes.

They were a pair of emotionless eyes, deep and hollow, as if they could see through to the depths of the soul.

She looked at Su Bai and approached step by step.

With every step she took, the surrounding Yin Qi trembled slightly.

She stopped in front of Su Bai, raised her hand, and slowly removed her mask.

It was a slit-open mouth.

Slit from the left earlobe to the right. Bright red gums and forest-white teeth appeared shockingly vivid against her pale face.

She split her mouth open and smiled.

"Am I beautiful?"

Her voice was raspy and eerie, carrying an unspeakable sense of pressure.

Su Bai looked at her with a calm expression and did not answer.

The Slit-Mouthed Woman waited for a moment, put her mask back on, took a step back, and knelt on one knee.

"My Lord."

This time, her voice returned to normal; though still cold, it no longer carried that eerie pressure.

Su Bai nodded: "Rise."

The Slit-Mouthed Woman stood up and moved to the side, her gaze falling on the scissors as if they were her entire world.

"Wow!"

The Ghost Bride floated over, circling the Slit-Mouthed Woman twice, her eyes sparkling.

"Were you also created by My Lord? What's your name? Why is your mouth so big? Can you talk? Those scissors in your hand are so pretty, can I borrow them to play with?"

The Slit-Mouthed Woman looked at her expressionlessly, saying nothing.

The Ghost Bride didn't mind, continuing to chatter and ask about everything.

Su Bai ignored them and continued to operate the world core.

99 points of Power Of Faith remained.

He used it all to create Yin Soldiers.

The gray-white Yin Qi condensed continuously, and one Yin Soldier after another stepped out from the mist. They wore tattered armor, held rusty spears, and their faces were too blurry to see their features, standing in a neat row.

Ninety-nine Yin Soldiers.

Including the previous one, exactly one hundred.

One hundred Tier 1 Yin Soldiers, and two 3-star heroes.

Su Bai stood before these one hundred and two units, feeling the information transmitted from the world.

[Current World: Netherworld]

[World Level: Tier 1 (Highest unit rank is Tier 1)]

[Civilization Status: None (No self-reproduction capability)]

[Unit Count: 102]

[Hero Units: Ghost Bride (Tier 1, 3-Star), Slit-Mouthed Woman (Tier 1, 3-Star)]

[Common Units: Yin Soldier × 100]

That's enough.

Su Bai turned and looked at this gray-white world.

Ten kilometers in diameter, all Yin Qi.

Too small.

Those legendary Netherworld structures—the Bridge of Helplessness, Meng Po's Manor, the Hall of the Yama King, the Eighteen Levels of Hell—any one of them was larger than this entire world.

To build them, he at least needed to expand the world to a sufficient size first.

And to expand the world, he needed to devour other worlds.

Su Bai withdrew his consciousness and opened his eyes.

Outside the window, the night was deep.

He stood up, walked to the window, and looked at the brightly lit city center in the distance.

There, the official Creator Association was established.

All Awakened could accept missions there, participate in conquests, or post bounties.

Besides that, there were many worlds on the verge of death.

The owners of those worlds had died for various reasons or were unable to cultivate them, so they abandoned the worlds at the Creator Association.

Su Bai could select some ownerless worlds from there to devour.

As these worlds were abandoned, most of the civilizations within them were dilapidated, making it easy to devour them after defeating the races inside.

In simple terms, it was a transit station for war.

Su Bai slung his school uniform jacket over his shoulder and pushed the door open.

Moonlight spilled onto his young face, reflecting a pair of deep eyes.

"It's time to bring the flames of war to other people's doorsteps."

He spoke in a low voice, his steps steady as he walked into the depths of the night.

Behind him, the lights of the dormitory building went out one by one.

Ahead, the city's neon lights flashed like daylight.

And in his Netherworld World, one hundred Yin Soldiers stood silently in the gray-white mist, awaiting their master's first command.

The Ghost Bride and the Slit-Mouthed Woman stood side by side, one talkative and the other taciturn.
