41: Chapter 41: The Creation of Ox-Head and Horse-Face, the Second Twin Heroes!

Su Bai stood at the world core, staring at that line of numbers for a long time.

[Power Of Faith: 3311 points]

Three thousand three hundred and eleven points.

It could be considered a lot, or very little.

Enough to create three five-star heroes, yet not even enough for the spare change needed for a Bridge of Helplessness.

He looked up, his gaze sweeping across the entire Netherworld World.

Six hundred and twenty-eight kilometers in diameter.

Yaksha Wasteland, Crimson Blood Scorched Earth, Mycelium Deep Forest, Shadow Demon Abyss, and Extreme Cold Ice Plains.

Five maps, three living civilizations.

Twenty thousand Mushroom People, thirty thousand Shadow Demons, and eight thousand Ice Crystals.

Producing one hundred points of Power Of Faith daily.

But Su Bai's gaze finally landed on those silent, lined-up Yin Soldiers.

Two hundred and fifty-eight.

He frowned.

Two hundred and fifty-eight Yin Soldiers, sixty Soul-Hooking Ghosts.

When they campaigned against the Shadow Demon Realm before, these Yin Soldiers and Soul-Hooking Ghosts did play a role. But that was when they were moving with the Ghost King and Black and White Impermanence; with hero units leading them, they only needed to cooperate.

But now, the Netherworld had three civilizations.

Twenty thousand Mushroom People were busy in the Mycelium Deep Forest, thirty thousand Shadow Demons were breeding in the abyss, and eight thousand Ice Crystals were building homes on the ice plains.

Who would manage them?

Who would maintain order?

Who would handle the potential conflicts, disputes, or even rebellions?

He couldn't have the Ghost King or Black and White Impermanence go personally every time, right?

Those hero units were meant for war, not for acting as urban management captains.

Although after the Ten Kings of Hell or even the Five Ghost Emperors were created, they would indeed be the grassroots cadres.

But that was for later; it wouldn't work now.

Su Bai looked at the two hundred and fifty-eight Yin Soldiers, then at the sixty Soul-Hooking Ghosts, and shook his head.

Not enough.

Far from enough.

He took a deep breath, his consciousness sinking into the world core.

[Current Power Of Faith: 3311 points]

[Available to Create: Yin Soldier]

[Cost: 1 Faith Point per unit]

[Available to Create: Soul-Hooking Ghost]

[Cost: 10 Faith Points per unit]

Su Bai did not hesitate.

Create Yin Soldiers first.

Nine hundred and eleven Yin Soldiers walked out from the grayish-white Yin Qi.

They wore tattered armor and held rusted spears, their faces too blurry to make out features, standing in ten neat rows.

Including the previous two hundred and fifty-eight, there were now one thousand one hundred and sixty-nine Yin Soldiers in total.

Su Bai looked at these silent warriors and nodded slightly.

Over a thousand Yin Soldiers was just about enough.

He turned to the Soul-Hooking Ghosts.

One hundred and forty Soul-Hooking Ghosts walked out from the Yin Qi.

They were about 1.8 meters tall with slender builds, wearing black-and-white short robes, their faces blurred, holding thin black chains in their hands.

Including the previous sixty, there were now two hundred Soul-Hooking Ghosts in total.

Looking at these two hundred Soul-Hooking Ghosts, a thought arose in Su Bai's mind.

These Soul-Hooking Ghosts were the direct subordinates of Black and White Impermanence.

Their task was not war, but hooking souls.

It was to maintain the order of Yin and Yang.

Currently, the Netherworld had no departed souls for them to hook, but what about the future?

When Meng Po, the Judges, and the Ten Kings of Hell were all out, when the Six Paths of Reincarnation were built, and when actual departed souls began to pour into the Netherworld.

At that time, would two hundred Soul-Hooking Ghosts be enough?

Certainly not.

But that was for the future.

For now, this would do.

Su Bai withdrew his consciousness and looked at the remaining Power Of Faith.

[Consumed: 911 (Yin Soldiers) + 1400 (Soul-Hooking Ghosts) = 2311 points]

[Remaining: 1000 points]

One thousand points.

Just enough to create a five-star twin hero.

Su Bai did not hesitate.

He closed his eyes and began to outline those two figures in his mind.

Ox-Head and Horse-Face.

Two of the Ten Great Yin Marshals of the Netherworld.

Ox-Head, originally named Abang, had a physique as burly as an iron tower, with a pair of huge bull horns on his head; he possessed infinite strength, held a steel fork, and specialized in escorting departed souls.

Horse-Face, originally named Horse-Face Rakshasa, had a slender physique like a bamboo pole, with a long and narrow horse face; he was extremely fast, held a chain, and specialized in apprehending evil ghosts.

Existing as twins, their combat power doubled.

Just like Black and White Impermanence, they were indispensable existences in the Netherworld.

[Consumed Power Of Faith: 1000 points]

[Created Species: Ox-Head and Horse-Face]

[Species Type: Hero Unit (Twin Coexistence)]

[Initial Level: Tier 1]

[Potential Ceiling: 5-Star]

The grayish-white Yin Qi began to churn.

This time, the churning was more violent than ever before.

This churning was filled with heaviness.

That heaviness felt as if thousands of pounds were pressing down on the heart of every observer. The Yin Qi no longer churned lightly but rolled slowly and heavily, as if it were a physical substance.

The Ghost King looked up, his golden vertical pupils narrowing slightly.

He could sense the aura of the two figures that were currently taking shape.

At the same level as Black and White Impermanence.

But their temperaments were completely different.

Black and White Impermanence were soul-hooking messengers, judges of the underworld, existences who wielded the laws of life and death.

But these two figures...

...were jailers.

They were escorts.

They were the lowest-level law enforcers of the Netherworld.

But similarly, they were the most indispensable existences.

White Impermanence still wore a smile, but his eyes were currently piercing through the Yin Qi, landing on the two figures taking shape.

"Interesting," he said softly.

Black Impermanence did not speak, merely tightening his grip on the soul-locking chain.

The Ghost Bride floated in mid-air, poking her head out curiously.

"Two more big guys?"

Sadako looked up from the well, her long hair sliding down to reveal her pale face. A hint of curiosity flashed in her hollow eyes.

The Slit-Mouthed Woman remained silent, but her hand holding the scissors loosened slightly.

The Mushroom King stood at the edge of the Mycelium Deep Forest, his purple eyes piercing through the mist to land on the two figures.

Shadow Blade stood at the edge of the Shadow Demon Abyss, his grayish-white eyes also looking in that direction.

The Frost King stood atop the Ice Crystal Castle, his silver eyes narrowing slightly.

The Yin Qi finally dissipated.

Two figures stood quietly before Su Bai.

The figure on the left was as burly as an iron tower, standing a full 2.5 meters tall. He had a massive bull's head, with two black horns curving toward the sky, their tips glinting with a cold light. His eyes were as large as copper bells, with blood-red pupils that radiated endless ferocity and loyalty.

His upper body was bare, revealing bronze skin and knotted muscles. A beast hide was wrapped around his waist, and he stood barefoot. In his right hand, he held a massive steel fork with three tines, each emitting a faint blue light.

Ox-Head, Abang.

The figure on the right was slender like a bamboo pole, also over two meters tall. He had a long, narrow horse face, with features that were regular yet inexplicably eerie. His eyes were narrow and long, with pupils as black as ink, radiating a sharpness that could see through everything.

He wore a set of black tight-fitting clothes, with a pitch-black chain hanging from his waist. That chain was thinner than Black Impermanence's soul-locking chain but longer and more flexible, slowly slithering around him as if it were alive.

Horse-Face, Horse-Face Rakshasa.

They opened their eyes.

Ox-Head's eyes were blood-red, like two clumps of burning fire.

Horse-Face's eyes were pitch-black, like two bottomless abysses.

They glanced at each other and then looked at Su Bai together.

The two figures knelt on one knee together.

"Master."
