64: Chapter 64 Facing the Sword Emperor

Su Bai withdrew his consciousness from the Netherworld World and opened his eyes.

Outside the window, the neon lights of the provincial capital were still flickering.

He glanced at the series of messages Chu Kuangren had sent to his communicator, and the corners of his mouth curled up slightly.

Ten million had already been credited to his account.

He stood up, straightened his school uniform, and walked toward the Provincial Capital Prodigy Arena once again.

...

The consciousness universe of the arena remained vast and boundless.

When Su Bai's light point lit up again, the public channel instantly boiled over.

[Spectator A: Holy crap! Su Bai is online!]

[Spectator B: For real? That coward still dares to show up?]

[Spectator C: Don't talk nonsense, that wasn't being a coward, it's called a strategic retreat, you understand?]

[Spectator D: Retreat my ass, he was just scared witless by the Sword Emperor!]

[Spectator E: @Sword Emperor, your prey is online, come quickly!]

Su Bai ignored the flood of messages.

He just silently clicked on matchmaking.

[Matching...]

[Match Successful]

[Opponent World Type: Thunder Civilization]

The moment the passage opened, a young man about his age appeared on the opposite side.

The youth wore a set of blue tight-fitting martial arts clothes, and his hair stood on end as if struck by lightning. Behind him was a world of thunder and lightning. Countless bolts of lightning exploded in the void, numerous thunder beasts darted through the clouds, and countless Thunder Elements condensed within the electricity.

[World Level: Rank 5, Initial Stage]

[World Type: Elemental Civilization (Thunder)]

[Current Rank: 783rd]

The youth's eyes lit up when he saw Su Bai.

"Su Bai? The Qinglin Province newcomer the Sword Emperor challenged?"

He sized Su Bai up, a flicker of battle intent flashing in his eyes.

"A thirty-seven-win streak, climbing from the ten-thousands into the top thousand; you do have some skill."

"However, it ends here."

He raised his hand, and the thunder world behind him began to surge. Countless thunder beasts charged out from the clouds, and numerous Thunder Elements condensed from the lightning, densely packed, numbering a full hundred thousand.

"My thunder beasts are incredibly fast and possess extreme attack power. Your Yin Qi creatures are vulnerable before my thunder!"

Su Bai looked at him without saying a word.

He simply lifted his hand slightly.

Behind him, the greyish-white Yin Qi of the Netherworld World surged like an ocean.

Five portals opened simultaneously.

The first portal came from the Shadow Demon Abyss.

One hundred and twenty thousand shadow demons poured out from the abyss, scattering into the void. Shadow Blade hovered at the very front, his greyish-white eyes staring coldly at the expanse of thunder.

The second portal came from the Mycelium Deep Forest.

One hundred thousand Mushroom People from...

The fifth portal did not open.

But three figures slowly walked out from the Yin Qi.

Sadako.

She floated up from the wellside, her long hair fluttering, her pale face devoid of any expression. Those hollow eyes stared straight at the thunder world opposite her.

Ghost Bride.

She floated in mid-air, her red wedding dress rustling in the Yin Qi. Her eyes, however, held a bizarre smile as she stared at the thunder beasts.

Slit-Mouthed Woman.

She held her scissors, wearing a mask, standing silently at the edge of the battlefield. Her eyes were also fixed on that expanse of thunder.

The three veterans.

Su Bai looked at them and said softly:

"Go."

Sadako was the first to move.

She didn't charge to the front lines, but simply hovered silently in mid-air. However, her Curse Spread had already silently invaded the thunder world.

An inexplicable fear began to emerge in the minds of those thunder beasts. They didn't know what they were afraid of, but they were afraid nonetheless. Their speed began to slow, their attacks began to miss, and their sanity began to crumble.

The Ghost Bride transformed into countless red silk threads, silently merging into the void. Those threads pierced through the thunder, through the clouds, and through the bodies of the thunder beasts. Every single thread was siphoning the resentment and life force of those thunder beasts.

The Slit-Mouthed Woman still stood in place, holding her scissors.

But her scissors had already begun to drip with blood.

Any thunder beast that tried to approach her would instantly lose all will to fight as soon as they saw her face or heard her ask that question.

"Am I pretty?"

No one could answer.

Because those who answered were already dead.

The legions of the four major races launched their attack simultaneously.

The shadow demons' Space Folding rendered the thunder beasts' speed advantage non-existent. They appeared within the thunder beast swarms, their sharp claw blades piercing through the beasts' bodies as shadow energy eroded their souls.

The Mushroom People's Spore Domain caused the Thunder Elements to become sluggish. Spores drifted into the lightning and actually began to absorb the thunder's energy, making the Thunder Elements weaker and weaker.

The Ice Crystals' Extreme Cold Domain froze the lightning in the void. The originally violent thunder was actually frozen solid into pillars of ice in the face of the extreme cold, suspended in mid-air.

The Naga's Oceanic Power surged from below. Tridents pierced through the chests of thunder beasts, mages' spells shattered their cores, and countless Nagas submerged the thunder beasts like a tide.

The battle lasted less than twenty minutes.

The thunder world opposite them was already torn to pieces.

One hundred thousand thunder beasts, completely wiped out.

Thunder Elements, completely wiped out.

The Thunder Beast King, a peak Rank 4 hero, was jointly slain by Shadow Blade and the Frost King.

The youth opposite him stood before his ruined world projection, his face pale as death.

He looked at the Netherworld army still hunting down the remnants, at those bizarre existences he had never seen before, and at the young Creator who hadn't made a single move from beginning to end.

His lips trembled as he tried to say something, but nothing would come out.

Three seconds later.

"I... I forfeit..."

The passage dissipated.

[Battle Ended]

[You have won. Points +10]

[Current Rank: 751st]

Su Bai withdrew his gaze, his expression calm.

He glanced at Sadako, the Ghost Bride, and the Slit-Mouthed Woman.

The three veterans still stood at the edge of the battlefield.

Sadako's aura seemed to have grown a bit stronger.

The Ghost Bride's smile was even more radiant.

The Slit-Mouthed Woman's scissors were still dripping blood.

The corners of Su Bai's mouth curled up slightly.

"Not bad."

Just as he was about to continue matchmaking, a new message suddenly popped up on the public channel.

[Sword Emperor: @Su Bai, you're online? Do you dare to accept the battle?]

As soon as this message appeared, the public channel exploded again.

[Spectator A: It's coming, it's coming! The Sword Emperor is back!]

[Spectator B: @Su Bai, accept it! Show him your strength!]

[Spectator C: Don't be a coward! You just beat someone in the 700s, why be afraid of someone in the 300s?]

[Spectator D: @Sword Emperor, he just finished a match, aren't you just bullying him?]

[Sword Emperor: Bullying? I've been challenging him for so long and he's been playing dead. Now that he's online, it's the perfect time for a match. What, don't you dare?]

Su Bai looked at the message and remained silent for three seconds.

He originally didn't want to pay attention to this clown.

But since he was being so persistent in his shamelessness...

Su Bai raised his hand and replied with a single word on the public channel:

[Accepted.]
