258: Chapter 258 is really boring, Heavenly Sword coerces.
After sending away the Tuoba siblings and returning from the Golden Pasture, Chu Sheng was exhausted.
He was still covered in dust from the Gluttony cavern, and he had just finished picking the leaves out of his hair.
He had intended to return to the main camp to take a bath and have a good sleep with his Dao Companion.
However, before he even reached the camp gate, he saw a massive spirit boat parked in the distance against the horizon.
Engraved on the hull was the emblem of the Heavenly Sword Pavilion—a silvery-white sword that shimmered in the twilight.
Chu Sheng's steps faltered.
"Heavenly Sword Pavilion? They came so quickly?"
He frowned and quickened his pace.
The guards at the camp gate saw him and hurried over, their expressions looking rather grim.
"Elder Chu, you've finally returned. The people from the Heavenly Sword Pavilion have been here for a while; they are waiting in the main tent and say they want to see you."
Chu Sheng asked, "Who came?"
The guard lowered his voice, "Ling Wushuang. The Sword-Wielding Elder of the Heavenly Sword Pavilion, she brought several people with her."
Chu Sheng cursed inwardly, but his Face remained impassive.
He thought to himself: Just finished a battle of wits with the Tuoba siblings at the Golden Pasture, and now I have to deal with Ling Wushuang upon returning. This life is impossible to live.
Grandmaster Jiang had arrived at the camp gate at some point, his expression grave.
Although his intelligence network was not as good as the Heavenly Sword Pavilion's, he had operated in the Northern Region for thousands of years, and no movement could escape his notice.
"Elder Chu, the Heavenly Sword Pavilion... seems to be targeting you."
Chu Sheng glanced at him and said, "I know."
Grandmaster Jiang was stunned, "You know?"
Chu Sheng said, "I met her once at the Wendao Palace. She has her eyes on my sword."
Grandmaster Jiang's expression became even uglier.
A Sword-Wielding Elder of the Heavenly Sword Pavilion, at the Peak of Spirit Containment, a sword fanatic.
Her having her eyes on Chu Sheng's sword was no small matter.
"Do you need this old man to step in and mediate?" Grandmaster Jiang asked.
Chu Sheng thought to himself, Old man, your Face isn't that big.
Grandmaster Jiang was just being polite.
Chu Sheng shook his head, "No need. If she wants to come, let her come."
His tone was very flat, as if he were speaking about an inconsequential matter.
Grandmaster Jiang looked at him, was silent for a moment, then nodded and left.
He thought to himself: This young man, just how many trump cards does he have?
Chu Sheng strode into the main tent and sat in the main seat. Just as he picked up his teacup, the tent curtain was lifted.
Ling Wushuang did not have anyone announce her; she walked in directly with three Sword-Wielding Elders.
She wore a snow-white robe, a long sword hung at her waist, her Face was cold and distant, and her chin was slightly raised.
The three Sword-Wielding Elders lined up behind her, their Aura overbearing.
Chu Sheng put down the teacup, looked at her, and did not speak.
Ling Wushuang sat down opposite him and got straight to the point, "I have come here to discuss the matters of the coalition army."
Chu Sheng said, "For coalition matters, go talk to Grandmaster Jiang. I am only an Outer Sect Elder; I cannot make decisions."
Ling Wushuang's lips curled slightly, "Elder Chu is being humble. I am quite clear about your status in the Wendao Palace."
Chu Sheng picked up the teacup, took a sip, and did not respond.
Ling Wushuang stared at him for a while, then suddenly said, "That sword, have you considered it?"
The atmosphere in the main tent instantly froze.
Peak of the Sea Opening Realm stood at the entrance, his expression changing slightly.
The generals behind him looked at each other, not knowing what Ling Wushuang was talking about.
Chu Sheng put down the teacup, looked at Ling Wushuang, his voice not loud but very clear.
"My Magic Treasure, I am afraid it is not for loan."
Ling Wushuang's smile stiffened for a moment.
She stared at Chu Sheng, her gaze like two knives.
"Elder Chu, I am sincere."
Chu Sheng said, "I am also sincere."
The two stared at each other for a few breaths.
Ling Wushuang stood up, flicked her sleeves, and turned around.
Walking to the tent entrance, she stopped and said without looking back, "In the Righteous-Demonic War, swords have no eyes. Elder Chu, take care."
After speaking, she lifted the curtain and walked out.
The three Sword-Wielding Elders followed behind her, exiting one after another.
The main tent was quiet for a few breaths, and then it exploded into chaos.
A general asked in a low voice, "Elder Chu, what sword was she talking about?"
Chu Sheng said, "A sword."
The general dared not ask again.
Peak of the Sea Opening Realm walked over and lowered his voice, "Elder Chu, the people from the Heavenly Sword Pavilion... are not to be trifled with."
Chu Sheng said, "I know."
He picked up his teacup and continued to drink tea.
Peak of the Sea Opening Realm looked at him and sighed in his heart.
He was finding it increasingly difficult to see through this person.
On the third night after Ling Wushuang left, Chu Sheng was adjusting his breathing in the tent when he suddenly opened his eyes.
He sensed a familiar Aura.
The tent curtain was lifted, and a red figure flashed in.
Madam Huayue was wearing a dark red long dress, her hair draped over her shoulders, with a smile on her Face.
"Did you miss me?" She leaned against the tent pole, her voice lazy.
Chu Sheng looked at her and said, "Why did you come? Aren't you afraid of being discovered?"
Madam Huayue waved her hand, "Rest assured, my concealment techniques are not something those mortals can see through."
She walked over and sat opposite Chu Sheng, pulled a Jade Slip from her sleeve, and threw it on the table.
"The latest movements in the Demon Realm. The Hall Master of the Hall of Ten Thousand Demons has already reported the matter of the Reverse Demon Tower to Pride."
Chu Sheng's brows twitched, "What did Pride say?"
Madam Huayue shook her head, "No response. But it is said... he is in a very bad mood."
"What else?" he asked.
Madam Huayue lowered her voice, "The Blood God Sect is frequently active near the Golden Pasture, seemingly collecting the remains of Gluttony. Demon Boy is leading the team personally; I don't know what kind of trick they are up to."
Chu Sheng remembered that huge cavern in the Golden Pasture and the black mist that had been Sealed.
The remains of Gluttony, the devouring power of Gluttony.
What does the Blood God Sect want to do?
He was silent for a moment and said, "Continue monitoring. If there is any situation, tell me immediately."
Madam Huayue nodded, then extended her hand and opened her palm.
Chu Sheng glanced at her and pulled out a defensive Magic Treasure from his Storage Pouch—a white jade pendant, Earth Rank High Grade, which he had pilfered from the treasury of Sloth.
"Wear it. It can save your life at a critical moment."
Madam Huayue took the jade pendant, looked it over repeatedly, and her lips curled up.
"You are quite generous."
Chu Sheng said, "If you want the horse to run, you have to feed the horse grass."
Madam Huayue laughed out loud, hung the jade pendant at her waist, stood up, and walked in front of Chu Sheng.
She leaned down, resting her hands on the edge of the table, her neckline drooping, revealing a patch of snow-white skin.
"Tonight, I am not leaving." Her voice was very soft, carrying a hint of seduction.
Chu Sheng glanced at her, expressionless, and said, "Go back."
Madam Huayue was stunned for a moment, then straightened up and laughed.
"You, you are really boring."
Chu Sheng did not speak.
Madam Huayue turned around, walked a few steps, then stopped and said without looking back, "When you become the Demon Lord, I will come again."
After speaking, her figure disappeared into the night.
The main tent returned to silence.
Chu Sheng leaned back against the chair, looked at the tent ceiling, and was silent for a long time.
He touched the zhu xian sword at his waist and whispered, "Demon Lord... that is still a long way off."
