232: Chapter 232 The Princess of the Capital Set Meal: Bread, Milk, and Public Toilets

Early morning.

The middle ring public cafeteria opened.

Captain Han Xue stood at the entrance wearing a black combat uniform, a gun at her waist, her cuffs buttoned to her wrist bones.

The collar covered most of her neck.

But when she turned, a small red mark was still visible at the collar.

Zhang Yi sat in the corner.

There were dark circles under his eyes.

The milk in the paper cup by his hand remained untouched.

He stared at Captain Han Xue, his lips moving slightly.

Captain Han Xue walked to his table and glanced at the tray.

"One slice of bread, one cup of milk, one portion of mashed potatoes."

Her voice was steady.

"Visitor meals are limited to twenty minutes. Return to the isolation room when you are finished."

Zhang Yi gripped the paper cup.

The cup crumpled under his grip.

"Captain Han Xue…"

Captain Han Xue raised her eyes.

"You have nineteen minutes left."

Zhang Yi's throat tightened.

The fiancée from the old world who wore a police uniform and would send him messages on rainy days felt as if she had been carved out of his memories by a knife.

Inside the window, Zhao Ya leaned out halfway, wearing an apron.

She had been temporarily assigned to the middle ring cafeteria by Fat Dragon today.

Fat Dragon's original words were simple.

"We don't know how to negotiate, but we know how to be annoying."

Zhao Ya accepted this well.

A professional sycophant, moved wherever needed.

Footsteps came from the cafeteria entrance.

Jiang Yun walked in.

In a cyan combat suit, her hair tied back.

She saw the breakfast on the metal tray and frowned.

"Just this?"

She pushed the tray back to the window.

"I want hot food and clean utensils."

Zhao Ya blinked and gave a standard smile.

"Ms. Jiang, this is the Jingcheng Princess Set Meal."

Jiang Yun looked at her.

Zhao Ya pushed the tray forward half an inch.

"Bread, milk, and public toilet."

"This is the visitor standard personally approved by Housekeeper Su."

Several people in the cafeteria stopped eating.

Zhang Yi also looked up.

Jiang Yun's fingers landed on the counter.

"Do you know who I am?"

Zhao Ya looked down at the visitor list next to the window.

"Jiang Yun, middle ring temporary visitor, toilet access level two."

Jiang Yun's expression turned cold.

She had barely slept last night.

The middle ring isolation room had a bed and heating.

But the public toilet was too disgusting.

There were always people walking outside the door.

No one knew she had shy bladder syndrome.

Whenever someone was around, she couldn't urinate.

She squatted in the stall, her whole body tensing up whenever she heard footsteps.

She couldn't bring herself to say such things.

Jiang Yun pointed at Zhao Ya, then at herself.

"In Jingcheng, no one dares to make me eat this kind of thing."

The cafeteria went quiet for a moment.

The Jingcheng Team members straightened their backs.

A glimmer of light returned to Zhang Yi's eyes.

Zhao Ya looked at her face seriously for three seconds.

She nodded.

"Then you're quite impressive."

Jiang Yun's gaze softened slightly.

Zhao Ya pointed to the card reader on the wall.

"If you want to eat something else, you can swipe your card here."

"However, we swipe contribution points here, not your father's influence."

Several middle ring soldiers who were also getting food shook their shoulders.

Jiang Yun stared at Zhao Ya.

As if she wanted to devour her alive.

Zhao Ya immediately added.

"Of course, you can also choose not to eat."

"If you don't eat, no contribution points will be deducted."

"After all, we're not a scam shop."

A Jingcheng Team member behind Jiang Yun wanted to step forward to argue.

The red dot of the automatic machine gun in the corner landed on his chest.

The man sat back down.

By the window, Yu Qingyi sat down with her visitor meal.

She had just arrived from Shanghai and currently had visitor access.

Having not earned any contribution points, her metal tray held the same set meal.

She broke open the bread and dipped it in some milk.

"If you don't eat, be careful of hypoglycemia."

Jiang Yun looked at her.

"Are you also one of Lin Yuan's playthings?"

Yu Qingyi took a small bite of the bread.

"I used to be in charge of the Shanghai camp."

"Then one day, a missile landed on my head. It didn't explode, and I was still alive."

She raised her eyes; her Shanghai accent was soft, but her words were not.

"The living must learn new rules."

Jiang Yun said coldly, "You adapted quite quickly."

Yu Qingyi looked at the serving window, the contribution point screen, and the crowd queuing for food.

The screen clearly displayed how much everyone took and their remaining contribution points.

No one cut in line.

No one argued.

Yu Qingyi looked away.

"Those who adapted slowly have all disappeared."

Jiang Yun ultimately did not touch the bread.

But not long after, her fingertips were already feeling cold.

She refused to admit it was hypoglycemia, attributing the dizziness to the air in Cloud Top Palace being too cold.

The Jingcheng Team was being watched by shadows.

Director Xu Changfeng did not protest.

Zhang Yi tried to find Captain Han Xue several times, but was blocked by soldiers and sent back to the isolation area.

In the afternoon.

Su Muxue wore a white lab coat and placed disposable blood collection needles, transparent test tubes, and sealed bags on the table.

Captain Han Xue stood by the door.

Director Xu Changfeng sat on the right.

Zhang Yi rubbed his hands, his gaze shifting back and forth between Jiang Yun and Captain Han Xue.

When Jiang Yun saw the blood collection needle, her expression darkened.

"What is the meaning of this?"

Zhang Yi whispered, "Bloodline Echo requires the blood of a direct blood relative."

"As long as we find Eve, Adam will re-evaluate our team's value."

He spoke faster than usual.

As if he was anxious to get this done, anxious to make Captain Han Xue look at him again.

Jiang Yun turned to look at Director Xu Changfeng.

"When I came out, no one said anything about collecting blood."

Zhang Yi answered quickly, "This is the fastest method."

Jiang Yun sneered.

"The sanitary conditions here are so poor; are you crazy?"

"What if I get infected? Can you take responsibility for that?"

Su Muxue picked up the sealed package and tore it open in front of her.

"Sterile blood collection needle."

She placed the needle on the table.

"The plan was proposed by you."

Su Muxue raised her eyes.

"I am just executing it."

The Jingcheng Team members looked at each other.

No one spoke.

In fact, the original plan was to use hair, but fresh blood would have better results.

Zhang Yi wanted to prove himself too much.

Unexpectedly, as soon as he brought it up, Director Xu Changfeng, as the captain, agreed.

He touched his ring finger.

It once wore an engagement ring, which he had traded for a bag of bread when the apocalypse began.

Jiang Yun looked at Captain Han Xue and then pointed to the camera on the wall.

"Are you people at Tiangong No. 1 planning to watch me cut my hand?"

Captain Han Xue said, "The process is public."

Four words that shut Jiang Yun down.

Jiang Yun extended her hand.

A thin layer of cyan light floated on her fingertips.

Like a lotus leaf wrapping around her skin.

Zhang Yi froze.

"Ms. Jiang, don't…"

Su Muxue gripped her wrist.

Cold air pressed down along her fingertips.

The cyan light flashed twice and was sealed by frost.

Jiang Yun's pupils shrank.

Her Green Lotus Fire could purify pollution and protect her body.

But in Su Muxue's hands, the temperature was directly extinguished.

The blood collection needle fell.

A bead of blood appeared.

It dripped into the test tube.

No one in the room spoke.

The Beijing princess cooperated according to the Cloud Top Palace process for the first time.

Su Muxue sealed the test tube and suddenly looked at Jiang Yun.

"Your physical condition is unstable."

Jiang Yun's expression changed.

Su Muxue's tone was professional.

"First day of your period, pain threshold dropped, Superpower fluctuations are on the high side."

"No wonder your temper was so foul yesterday."

She threw the blood collection needle into the medical waste box.

"Next time you don't want to prick your finger, you can just have your subordinates use your sanitary pad."

"It's all blood anyway."

The room was quiet enough to hear breathing.

Xia Qingqiu stood to the side, almost biting her recording board.

That was a lethal comeback; Dr. Su was truly worthy of being a medical professional.

Jiang Yun's chest heaved, but she managed not to curse.

Seeing that this young lady from Beijing was on the verge of losing it, Zhang Yi dared not delay any longer.

He pressed his hands on the test tube.

A-rank [Bloodline Echo] activated.

In the test tube, the drop of blood containing the faint light of the green lotus suddenly stopped falling under the catalysis of Zhang Yi's Superpower.

Zhang Yi took a deep breath, his hands gripping the edge of the test bench tightly.

Veins bulged on the back of his hands, and the gray halo of the A-rank [Bloodline Echo] surged into the glass test tube like a tide.

Hum!

The test tube vibrated violently, and the alloy test bench emitted a dull resonant sound.

The drop of blood did not turn into a simple red line, but instead, like a miniature scarlet heart, rapidly contracted and expanded in the center of the test tube.

With every beat, a wisp of visible pale red blood mist escaped outward.

Su Muxue immediately stepped back half a step, pushed up her glasses, and watched the energy data skyrocketing on the monitor with cold eyes.

"Superpower fluctuation index: High."

Su Muxue's voice had no inflection.

"It has already exceeded the limit of a normal A-rank. Zhang Yi, you are overdrawing your Mental Energy."
