236: Chapter 236 You Show Me Your Past Life? I'll Trade You for Contribution Points

Jiangcheng University.

The corpses from after the fourth Red Moon had not yet been cleared.

At the edge of the playground, several students dragged frozen zombie remains and threw them into a temporary incineration pit.

A long line had formed at the entrance of the cafeteria.

Beside the porridge bucket hung a newly printed list.

[Tiangong No. 1 Contribution Points Exchange Table]

Frostbite medicine. Compressed rations. Coal. Basic antibiotics. Serum.

Each item was marked with a price.

Chu Feng stood by the porridge bucket, pushing a bowl of hot porridge to the student in front of him.

The student's hands were frozen purple, and he trembled slightly when taking the bowl.

"Thank you, Brother Chu."

Chu Feng said nothing.

Xu Mengmeng walked over carrying a medicine kit, lowering her voice.

"This batch of frostbite medicine today was provided by Tiangong No. 1 according to the agreement."

Chu Feng glanced at the exchange table.

Double interest. Three months of service.

These words were colder than the wind outside.

He ladled out the next bowl of porridge. "Let them live first."

Xu Mengmeng nodded and was about to leave.

By the playground, Master Jiu walked over with an unlit cigarette dangling from his mouth.

The cigarette was leaked to him by Fat Dragon. He couldn't bear to smoke it. Just for show.

Master Jiu approached Chu Feng, his voice lowered. "Some outsiders have snuck in."

Chu Feng's hand paused. "Where?"

"The underground drainage outlet of the old Library."

Chu Feng's first reaction was to reach for his communicator. Master Jiu pressed his hand down. "Don't rush."

Chu Feng looked at him.

Master Jiu grinned without making a sound. "They bypassed Lin Yuan to come to Jiang University; they certainly didn't come to send us warmth. Let's see what their offer is."

Chu Feng was silent for two seconds. "Mengmeng."

Xu Mengmeng immediately turned around. "Take the students and evacuate the area near the Library."

"What's wrong?"

Chu Feng put the ladle back into the bucket. "Cleaning up corpses."

Xu Mengmeng understood.

Ten minutes later. Outside the old Library. Several passages were quietly sealed off by guards.

Chu Feng stood at the door, no fire in his palms. Master Jiu stood beside him. The two acted as if they knew nothing.

The iron cover of the underground drainage outlet was pushed open. Five figures crawled out.

They didn't fire. The leading man held up an old badge. National Emergency Response Team.

Chu Feng's eyes turned cold.

The man looked at him. "Chu Feng. The final Sun God of Jiangcheng in the previous life."

As these words fell, the languor on Master Jiu's face vanished. Xu Mengmeng also froze in place.

Chu Feng looked up. "What did you say?"

The man handed over a sealed document. "You were supposed to be the savior. Not Lin Yuan's dog."

Chu Feng took it. The document was thin. But every line of content within it struck extremely accurately.

Past life. Sun Furnace. Zombie Horde fire sea. Ordinary survivors kneeling behind him.

The photo was blurry, but one could see a person wreathed in flames, blocking the Zombie Horde. That was him. Or rather, another version of him.

Chu Feng's hand slowly tightened. The corner of the paper began to char slightly.

The man seized the opportunity to speak. "You save people. Lin Yuan harvests you."

He took out another agreement. The agreement for Jiang University to borrow grain from Tiangong No. 1. Double interest. If it can't be repaid, everyone serves for three months.

Several new managers of Jiang University heard the content, and their expressions changed. Someone whispered, "Is Brother Chu really being oppressed to this extent?"

The man looked at Chu Feng. "You protect Jiang University, he treats Jiang University as leeks to be harvested. Are you willing to accept this?"

A flame flickered in Chu Feng's palm.

Xu Mengmeng couldn't help but speak up. "Without Lin Yuan's grain, people at Jiang University would have frozen to death long ago."

The man immediately looked at her. "So you have already gotten used to living on your knees?"

As soon as these words were spoken, the surroundings went quiet. Master Jiu's gaze darkened. Every word this person said was stabbing at Chu Feng's heart.

The man continued to up the ante. "Jingcheng can provide weapons and food. We will recognize you as the legitimate leader of Jiangcheng University. In the future, you can save more people. Chu Feng, you were not born to bow to a tyrant."

Chu Feng lowered his head. Firelight leaked from between his fingers. Xu Mengmeng watched him, her lips moving, but she didn't dare to persuade him. Master Jiu had the cigarette in his mouth, his eyelids lowered. At this moment, no one knew what Chu Feng would choose.

After a long while, Chu Feng suddenly asked, "Why don't you go talk to Lin Yuan directly?"

The man's voice stalled. Chu Feng looked up. "How many grains did Jingcheng send to Jiangcheng before? When the apocalypse broke out, where were you?"

The man frowned. Master Jiu laughed. "Who can't make empty promises? Is this pancake of yours from Jingcheng pre-made? It isn't even heated through."

The student managers who had just been wavering stopped speaking. The man's expression turned cold.

Chu Feng raised his hand, and the sealed bag in his hand burned to ashes. Firelight surged in his eyes. His voice was a bit hoarse. "It's not him as a person that I submit to."

The man was stunned.

Chu Feng turned his head and looked towards the cafeteria. Over there, students were still queuing for porridge. Someone was holding a bowl, squatting against the wall, drinking slowly, one mouthful at a time.

"I submit to the fact that his rules allow people to live."

The man's rhythm was broken. Chu Feng took his communicator out from his sleeve. Liu Qing's voice sounded from within. "Recording complete. Contribution points mission confirmed."

The Jingcheng Team's expressions changed drastically. The man reached out violently, grabbing towards Xu Mengmeng. "Plan B!"

The next second, an earth wall arched up from the ground. The earth-type trap Master Jiu had long buried directly sealed off their retreat.

Chu Feng raised his hand. The Sun Furnace exploded. Fire spread in a circle in front of the old Library, trapping the five people in the center. Heatwaves blasted away the snow.

The man gritted his teeth. "Chu Feng, you're crazy! You're selling your own future to Lin Yuan?"

Chu Feng stepped into the firelight. "You show me my past life, hoping to incite me to defect. I'll trade you for contribution points. It's very fair."

Master Jiu laughed out loud. "This deal, it's like finding a kindred spirit in a sewer."

A Jingcheng Team member roared, his wind-type Superpower exploding, trying to rush out from above the fire ring.

Chu Feng punched out. A pillar of fire rolled along the ground and up. The person lost his balance in mid-air and smashed back into the circle.

Master Jiu added an earth spike. Pfft. The calf was pierced through.

Master Jiu bit his cigarette and sneered. "Trying to incite defection at Jiang University? You didn't even bother to ask around; the most popular major at our Jiang University is Ideological and Political Education."

Tang Qiqi's voice suddenly popped up from the communicator. "Master Jiu, you went to college too? Didn't you tell Fat Dragon last time that you dropped out of vocational school to go out and hack people?"

Liu Qing calmly interrupted. "Battle channel, please keep it concise."

Xu Mengmeng led the students to the safe zone. She looked back and saw Chu Feng standing in front of the firelight. There was no excitement of victory. Only suppressed humiliation.

Chu Feng hated being suppressed by Lin Yuan. He also hated Jingcheng using the word "savior" to shackle him. But he was even clearer on one thing: those without food cannot talk about ideals.

Chu Feng spoke into the communicator. "Remember to settle the supplies and contribution points according to the mission list."

Liu Qing said, "Already recorded. Fat Dragon will send people to pick up the captives. Your points will be audited by Housekeeper Su."

The survivors of Jiang University watched this scene, and no one dared to gossip anymore. Chu Feng, who had once been the most defiant against Lin Yuan, had personally sold the Jingcheng Team to him. This was more effective than any lecture.

Chu Feng asked Master Jiu for a cigarette. Master Jiu lit the cigarette and handed it over. Xu Mengmeng immediately glared at him. Master Jiu's hand trembled, and he pinched the fire out. "Fine, fine, I won't smoke it."

Chu Feng picked up a bowl of porridge that had already gone cold and finished it. "I still hate Lin Yuan."

Master Jiu nodded. "Hate him or not, you still have to eat."

Chu Feng put down the empty bowl. "From today on. All external contacts at Jiang University must be reported to Lin Yuan first."
