27: Chapter 27 The Wake-up Service with Four Broken Legs

Late at night.

Returning to Apartment 1201.

Lin Yuan sent Su Xiaonuan back to the master bedroom to rest, then took off his jacket, which was stained with a faint scent of blood, and walked to the kitchen to pour some water.

The living room lights were off.

His Mental Energy of 26 allowed him to keenly sense a gaze locked onto his throat in the darkness.

"Come out," Lin Yuan said in a cold, hard voice.

The shadows stirred.

Qin Yumo, wearing a black tactical vest, walked out silently.

"Remember to greet me next time you enter the room."

She lowered her waist, her bare feet gripping the floor, and set her hands in the starting stance of military combat arts.

"I almost dealt with you as an intruder."

Lin Yuan sneered, and without any warning, his figure exploded into motion.

He was like a black panther descending the mountain, leaving an afterimage in the darkness!

"You...!"

Qin Yumo's expression changed drastically; instinct drove her to throw a punch at Lin Yuan's neck.

But how terrifying was Lin Yuan's physical body now?

He shifted his body to the side, gripped Qin Yumo's wrist with his right hand, pulled her forward, and forcefully thrust his left leg between her thighs, locking her center of gravity!

Bang!

A dull sound of bodies colliding echoed in the pitch-black living room.

Qin Yumo was forced against the wall by Lin Yuan.

Two bodies full of explosive power collided tightly in the darkness.

The heat wave from Lin Yuan, carrying a strong scent of blood and masculine sweat, instantly engulfed her.

The position was extremely ambiguous, and even somewhat rough.

Lin Yuan's knee pressed against her, and his upper body crushed her hot, full breasts, causing them to deform completely.

Qin Yumo gritted her teeth, refusing to give in, and tried to raise her long, strong legs to knee Lin Yuan in the lower body, but she was firmly suppressed by Lin Yuan's even more terrifying raw physical strength.

During the struggle, their skin rubbed against each other frantically.

Because of her intense resistance, a layer of fine, fragrant sweat exuded from her body.

The black tactical vest was soaked with sweat, clinging tightly to her body.

"Let go!"

Qin Yumo growled in a low voice, a flicker of panic finally flashing in her cold eyes.

This man's strength was so great it made her feel hopeless!

Lin Yuan didn't let go; instead, he lowered his head even further.

"Don't show me your fighting stance on my turf."

"If you dare to show your claws again, I'll cripple you."

The strong heartbeat of Lin Yuan came through their pressed bodies, and that primitive, violent masculine hormone made the sense of submission in Qin Yumo's bones faintly rise.

Seeing that she was stiff and no longer resisting, Lin Yuan slowly let go and took half a step back.

Qin Yumo leaned against the wall, panting heavily, her full chest heaving, staring at Lin Yuan with complex eyes.

"Report the situation," Lin Yuan said, walking to the counter to pour a glass of water.

Qin Yumo calmed her heartbeat.

She carefully used two fingers to pry open a slit in the heavy curtains, lifting her chin slightly to signal the direction downstairs.

"Three cars, four secret sentries. One parked at the convenience store opposite the residential area, two at the underground garage exit. They change shifts every two hours."

Qin Yumo spoke extremely fast, displaying absolute professionalism:

"The methods are rough, and the equipment is outdated. They aren't cops, nor are they people from the underworld; it's highly likely they are private investigators working for money."

"Who did you provoke?"

Lin Yuan took a look through the slit.

Shen Qingyue.

That stupid woman; he couldn't spare the time to teach her a lesson, yet she was still haunting him.

Lin Yuan withdrew his gaze and turned to look at Qin Yumo.

In his past life, this woman was known as the "Valkyrie," relying on a pair of iron fists to fight her way in and out of the Zombie Horde.

But he had always thought she was just a gifted fitness coach.

"What did you do before? This level of alertness doesn't look like that of a fitness coach," Lin Yuan asked.

Qin Yumo lowered the curtains and glanced at him sideways without answering; she still remembered the man's sudden attack from earlier.

"As my household security, I need to know your background thoroughly."

Lin Yuan said, "And you should understand that it's very easy for me to investigate your file."

A flash of disgust crossed Qin Yumo's eyes: "Southwest border, a certain reconnaissance company. I've been retired for three years."

"Why did you retire?"

"I couldn't stand the social nuances, so I hit my superior," Qin Yumo pulled the corners of her mouth in self-mockery. "After I got out, I found that society is even more disgusting."

"I couldn't resist so many temptations, so I could only sell smiles and become a fitness coach."

"But now, I only recognize money and power."

Lin Yuan looked at her.

She hid it well in his past life.

But this made sense; how could someone who became an overlord in the apocalypse be simple?

Every strong person has hidden trump cards; even if he knows the future, he must never let his guard down.

"This is the phone number of someone named Fat Dragon in the South District of Jiangcheng," Lin Yuan sent a number from his phone to Qin Yumo. "Contact him."

Qin Yumo was stunned: "And then?"

"Break the legs of those four people," Lin Yuan turned and walked toward the master bedroom. "Then throw them at the front gate of Xiangshan Villa. Remember, don't kill them. I want her to see these broken legs the moment she opens the door in the morning."

The next morning.

A drizzling rain began to fall from the sky over Jiangcheng.

The sour, putrid smell was amplified infinitely by the rain.

Lin Yuan finished washing up and pushed open the master bedroom door to get his jacket.

Su Xiaonuan on the bed heard the movement and immediately woke up like a frightened kitten. She didn't even bother to put on shoes, trotted over barefoot, and hugged Lin Yuan's waist tightly from behind.

She pressed her hot little face against Lin Yuan's broad back, her soft body trembling slightly, and her eyes flashed with a pathological attachment born of surviving a disaster.

"Boss Lin... tonight, let Su Xiaonuan accompany you, okay? Su Xiaonuan isn't afraid of pain... I accidentally fell asleep yesterday..."

Lin Yuan turned around, raised his hand, and ruffled her slightly messy hair, his tone unquestionable: "Go to work once you're awake; I have serious business today."

Seeing that Lin Yuan wasn't angry, Su Xiaonuan obediently let go, her cheeks flushed with an unusual redness, and she retreated to the bedside well-behaved.

Lin Yuan turned and walked out of the master bedroom, arriving at the dining table.

Wang Ya had already served the steaming hot century egg and lean meat porridge.

A local news notification from Jiangcheng popped up on the screen...

"South District Building Materials Tycoon Involved in Organized Crime and Serious Tax Evasion; Industries Under His Name Sealed Overnight, Person in Question Controlled by Police!"

In the video, the arrogant rich second generation from the private room last night and his insufferably arrogant father were being shoved into a police car in a disheveled state, wearing handcuffs.

Immediately after, several long voice messages popped up on WeChat.

From "Fat Dragon".

Lin Yuan tapped to play.

"Boss Lin, Miss Qin's matter has been taken care of."

Fat Dragon's voice was filled with extreme exhaustion; one could even hear the sound of him gasping in pain while treating wounds in the background.

"Also, last night when I sent that little bastard back, his father went crazy and insisted on dragging people to get you. I couldn't persuade him, so I had no choice but to have a head-on clash with him."

"We fought all night. Lost a dozen brothers."

"But I've held onto that old bastard's black accounts for three years without daring to expose them, and last night I poked them all to the Municipal Bureau's special investigation team. He won't even think about getting out for the rest of his life."

Lin Yuan finished listening and took a sip of porridge.

Killing a thousand enemies at the cost of eight hundred of one's own.

Fat Dragon had submitted a letter of allegiance with such decisive ruthlessness and the cost of almost destroying half of his family's assets.

Lin Yuan held down the voice button and replied:

"You've only met me twice; why are you willing to bet your life?"

A few seconds later, Fat Dragon's reply came through.

His voice carried a sense of awe from a rough-and-tumble gangster:

"Boss Lin, I, Fat Dragon, have been out on the streets since I was a teenager. The reason I've survived until today is my intuition."

"You might not believe it, but I saw a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood on you."

"That time at MixC Mall, I was scared at first, but after I got home, I had a strange feeling..."

"I feel that by following you, I can live longer."

Lin Yuan put down his phone.

This is the vicious dog needed for the apocalypse.

Has a brain, is ruthless enough, and is extremely sharp.

He dialed Lu Yan's number.

"Boss." Lu Yan answered quickly.

"Someone named Fat Dragon will go to Tiangong No. 1 to find you today," Lin Yuan issued instructions. "He has some connections and construction channels; give him the rough work on the periphery. You must personally supervise the core projects."

"Also, observe this person's character and report back to me later."

"Understood." Lu Yan paused, his voice lowering, "Boss, the things you wanted, I've made contact."

"Tonight at eight, abandoned shipyard in the eastern suburbs; the snakehead is called Old Ghost."

Lin Yuan narrowed his eyes slightly.

Didn't expect Lu Yan's efficiency to be this fast.

"Is his appetite big?"

"As long as the money is right, he can even get you a rocket," Lu Yan replied. "But I suggest you bring more people; that gang are all desperadoes."

"You take Tank and Shadow. I'll come to pick you up at seven in the evening." Lin Yuan hung up the phone.

In the living room, Qin Yumo walked out of the guest bedroom, yawning.

"It's done." Qin Yumo walked to the fridge, took a bottle of ice water, unscrewed it, and took a big gulp. "Threw them at the front gate of Xiangshan Villa; I reckon that woman is probably scared and calling the police right now."

Lin Yuan nodded and didn't ask any more questions.

Before the apocalypse truly descends, he didn't mind letting this traitor adapt to the scenery of hell in advance.

Meanwhile.

Jiangcheng International Airport, International Arrivals exit.

The automatic glass doors slid open to both sides.

A tall woman walked out.

She was wearing a black trench coat, sunglasses, and Doc Martens, with a guitar case on her back; her jawline was sharp as a knife.

The woman didn't use an umbrella, letting the drizzling rain, which carried a sour, putrid smell, fall onto her black waterproof windbreaker.

She expressionlessly avoided the surveillance cameras, her pace steady with not a single superfluous movement.

She walked to the roadside and took out an encrypted mobile phone.

The screen lit up.

On it was a photo taken secretly yesterday.

In the photo, Lin Yuan was pushing open the door to Apartment 1201 at the Rose Garden Residential Area.

The woman's finger slid gently, enlarging the photo and freezing it on Lin Yuan's cold, stern profile.

It also had some of Lin Yuan's call records for today attached.

A black van with no license plate stopped in front of her.

The door opened, the woman threw the guitar case into the car first, then bent down and got in.

"Abandoned shipyard in the eastern suburbs; we act tonight."

The woman said in a low voice in Japanese.

The van merged into the traffic and sped toward the downtown area of Jiangcheng.

In the air, the sour, putrid smell of rain was getting stronger and stronger.
