35: Chapter 35 "Lin Yuan, I am your mother-in-law"

9:00 PM, Jiangcheng International Airport.

The automatic doors at the exit slid open slowly, carrying a damp, sour odor.

Lu Feng was wearing a sophisticated gray shirt, his steps steady, with a smile on his face.

Behind him followed a short, unremarkable-looking man.

Chiba Rin had lost contact.

By nature suspicious, Lu Feng immediately spent 500,000 USD to re-hire a Chunin codenamed "Sato" from the "Ninja Guild".

Unlike Chiba Rin, the female ninja who specialized in infiltration, Sato was a tough operative specializing in frontal combat; countless dignitaries and wealthy businessmen from various countries had died at his hands.

With this god of slaughter present, Lu Feng felt his confidence return.

As long as he could force Lin Yuan to cough up that billion, this small amount of money was not worth mentioning.

"Mr. Sato, now that we've arrived in Jiangcheng, let's proceed as we agreed."

Lu Feng rubbed his chin, his mind filled with images of pinning Lin Yuan to the ground and bleeding him dry.

"Leave him a breath of life; I want to do it myself."

Sato crossed his arms, snorting coldly in stiff Chinese:

"My mission is to ensure your safety. Everything else has nothing to do with me."

The two had just walked to the roadside.

A black Mercedes business van cut across, its blinding headlights shining directly into Lu Feng's eyes.

The car door slid open.

Shen Qingyue's face, appearing almost manic, emerged at the edge of the light.

Lu Feng's heart skipped a beat, and he instinctively shrank back.

Why was Shen Qingyue here?!

He had to know that his return trip was extremely confidential.

But after a brief moment of panic, Lu Feng quickly put on a face of deep remorse.

"Qingyue, listen to me explain!"

His tone was extremely sincere, and his eyes were even turning red.

"I transferred the funds to protect the foundation of Xinghui. That lunatic Lin Yuan was setting a trap; if I didn't leave, all the money would be gone!"

He reached out, trying to grab Shen Qingyue's fingers.

"See, I've sneaked back to deal with Lin Yuan, haven't I? Those things I said before were all intentionally said for others to hear; you surely wouldn't mind, right?"

Looking at this face that she had once trusted implicitly, Shen Qingyue only felt a wave of nausea churning in her stomach.

"Loose woman," "second-hand goods."

These words were constantly floating in her mind.

Grandmaster Ling Suzhen impatiently pushed her daughter aside.

Sensing something wrong, Sato's body suddenly sank as he blocked in front of Lu Feng.

From this woman in the purple cheongsam, he smelled a dangerous scent of blood.

Sato lowered his stance and exerted sudden force with his feet.

Muddy water splashed up.

He thrust his fingers together, aiming straight for Grandmaster Ling Suzhen's throat.

Grandmaster Ling Suzhen stood in place, her breathing pattern not even changing.

Just before the fingertips touched her skin, she reached out with her right hand.

Snap!

Her five fingers clamped onto Sato's wrist.

Sato's pupils shook violently; his forward momentum was brought to a dead stop by this seemingly delicate hand.

He felt as if he had crashed into an iron tower.

"A dog from the island nation's Ninja Guild?"

Grandmaster Ling Suzhen twisted her wrist and exerted sudden downward force.

Crack!

Sato's right arm was twisted and broken in reverse.

"Ah—!"

Sato screamed, his knees slamming heavily onto the ground.

"Go back and ask your guild leader."

Grandmaster Ling Suzhen looked down at him, her tone chilling,

"Do you still remember the fear of kneeling and drinking urine in the Northern Territory ten years ago?"

"If you dare to set foot in the Dragon Kingdom again, it will be considered a full-scale declaration of war."

Grandmaster Ling Suzhen raised her leg and kicked Sato away.

Passersby outside the airport were stunned by this scene and began lifting their phones to record.

Grandmaster Ling Suzhen expressionlessly took an old-fashioned mobile phone from her handbag and dialed a number.

"Jiangcheng Airport, public opinion control."

Eight words, less than ten seconds.

The few blurry videos that had just appeared on the local Jiangcheng network were locked, deleted, and wiped clean by a massive data stream.

Lu Feng was terrified.

The 500,000 USD killer he was so proud of hadn't even lasted a single move and was lying on the ground twitching like a dead dog.

Thump.

Lu Feng's legs went weak, and he knelt directly on the ground.

"Auntie! Let's talk this over!" Lu Feng's face was covered in snot and tears, "I was just trying to help Qingyue manage her finances!"

Grandmaster Ling Suzhen couldn't be bothered to listen to his nonsense; she walked over, grabbed Lu Feng by the collar with one hand, and threw him directly into the back seat of the business van.

"Get in the car," Grandmaster Ling Suzhen said to Shen Qingyue, who was standing there in a daze.

The business van drove away from the airport, merging into the night.

...

The next morning.

Lin Yuan sat at the dining table, drinking the black coffee Wang Ya had brought him.

His phone vibrated; Old Ghost was calling.

"Boss Lin, there was a situation at the airport last night."

Old Ghost's voice carried an unusual gravity, "The brothers I sent were invited to 'have tea' by the Municipal Bureau."

"Only a little news was passed back. Lu Feng was taken away by someone."

Lin Yuan set down his coffee cup.

Old Ghost had eyes and ears everywhere in the Jiangcheng underground, and even his people had been suppressed without a sound.

Shen Qingyue definitely did not have this kind of power.

A variable had appeared.

"Got it." Lin Yuan hung up the phone.

He turned his head to look at Qin Yumo, who had just walked out of the guest bedroom.

"Don't go out today. Have Fat Dragon's men watch the perimeter tightly."

Qin Yumo was stunned for a moment, keenly sensing the murderous intent in Lin Yuan's eyes.

She didn't ask any more questions; she returned to her room and took her tactical dagger with her.

Lin Yuan sent another message to Fat Dragon, telling him to deploy thirty of his most elite fighters to be spread out around the perimeter of the Rose Garden Residential Area.

After arranging everything, Lin Yuan stood up.

"Su Xiaonuan, you and Wang Ya go to the South District today and find a heavy industry company called 'Thor'. Buy all the industrial batteries they have in stock."

"The energy module work at Tiangong No. 1 has started; get it ready and coordinate with Lu Yan."

"Understood, Boss Lin." Su Xiaonuan replied.

10:00 AM.

Tiangong No. 1.

The pouring of the defensive wall had been completed.

Lu Yan and his men were conducting exploration for geothermal wells on the second underground level.

Lin Yuan stood in the open field, with Shadow standing beside him, possessing no sense of presence.

A military-green heavy truck drove into the construction site.

Jiang Xiaowan, wearing a black motorcycle suit, jumped out of the truck in long boots.

The signature scent of roses on her was mixed with a faint smell of engine oil.

"The toys you wanted." Jiang Xiaowan patted the truck's cargo bed.

Several workers lifted a few huge metal crates off the truck and pried open the latches.

Inside lay two military-grade reconnaissance and strike drones with a wingspan of over three meters, as well as four sets of portable EMP electromagnetic pulse shielding devices.

Shadow stepped forward, skillfully opening the drone control terminal, his fingers tapping rapidly on the screen.

"Synthetic aperture radar module is normal. Laser ranging error is less than 0.1 meters. Real-time image transmission latency is 0.01 seconds. Good stuff!"

Listening to the report, Lin Yuan's tense expression finally eased slightly.

In the apocalypse, this equipment was equivalent to unlocking a god's-eye view.

Jiang Xiaowan leaned against the metal crate, her beautiful eyes roaming as she examined the prototype of the fortress currently under frantic construction all around.

"Lin Yuan, you've built this place like an iron bucket."

Jiang Xiaowan said half-jokingly, "Blast-proof walls, geothermal, and now you've even brought in military drones. You don't really believe the apocalypse is coming, do you?"

She paused, leaning her body slightly forward, closer to Lin Yuan: "If that day really comes, can you save a room for me?"

Lin Yuan glanced at her with a flat gaze.

"Depends on your performance."

Just at this moment, the phone in Lin Yuan's pocket began to vibrate frantically.

Caller ID: Qin Yumo.

Lin Yuan's brows furrowed slightly.

Qin Yumo usually wouldn't call him on her own initiative.

Her duties were security and training; anything could wait until Lin Yuan returned to discuss it face-to-face.

He pressed the answer button.

Mature, cold, exuding a sense of absolute, high-and-mighty control.

"Lin Yuan, I am your mother-in-law."

Grandmaster Ling Suzhen was sitting on the sofa in the Rose Garden Residential Area apartment 1201.

Qin Yumo was to the side, kneeling on one knee, her left hand supporting her on the ground, her face full of unwillingness.

She had drawn her blade.

But she hadn't even touched the corner of the other person's clothes.

"This girl has quite a backbone. What a pity."

Grandmaster Ling Suzhen picked up the water glass on the coffee table and took a sip.

"I am sitting in your living room now. Waiting for you to come back for lunch."
