155: Want to play street fighting? I'll play with him!

The horrors of urban warfare were something he understood better than anyone.

It was a bottomless pit that swallowed lives.

"What's the panic?"

David walked to the side and picked up a medical kit.

With an expressionless face, he used tweezers to pluck glass shards from his palm, then disinfected it with alcohol and wrapped it in a bandage.

Throughout the process, his movements were terrifyingly steady.

"The sky isn't falling."

His calm tone transmitted through the phone line, settling much of Oliver's frantic anxiety.

"Oliver, listen to my orders."

"Yes! Sir!"

"First, immediately have Pedro lodge the strongest diplomatic protest with the Americans in the name of the Provisional Government."

"State that they are secretly supporting the rebels, seriously interfering in our internal affairs, and undermining regional peace and stability!"

"Throw every serious accusation you can think of at them!"

"Yes!"

"Second, don't make this public for now, but have the National Defense Force ready."

"Once this battle is over, surround their military bases in Bolivia for me!"

Oliver was stunned.

"Surround them?"

"Correct." David's voice carried no emotion.

"Cut off their water and electricity. Restrict their personnel and supplies from entering or leaving. Don't they love playing this game?"

"We'll play with them using their own rules."

"If they don't withdraw, let them eat dirt in their bases."

"I want to see who can outlast whom."

Oliver's heart jolted, a surge of adrenaline rushing to his head.

That was so damn satisfying!

"Understood! Sir! I guarantee the mission will be completed!"

"As for the urban warfare..."

David paused.

"Zia Jackson has his schemes, but don't I have my own countermeasures?"

"He wants to play urban warfare? I'll play with him."

"Have your main forces standby on the perimeter. Blockade all exits from the city; don't let a single fly out."

"I'll handle the situation inside the city."

Hanging up the phone, David looked out at the deep night sky.

"Play urban warfare with me?"

"You don't even know what real urban warfare is."

He closed his eyes, sinking his consciousness into his mind.

"System, filter individual reconnaissance equipment suitable for urban warfare."

[Filtering for host...]

[Filtering complete.]

[Recommended Product: Walkera Alpha 800T, Micro Quad-Rotor Reconnaissance Drone.]

A series of data and 3D models appeared in David's mind.

[Product Features: Compact size, weighing only 350 grams; uses silent motors, nearly undetectable from 30 meters away.]

[Battery life: 30 minutes; equipped with a 4K HD camera and high-precision thermal imager.]

[Simple operation; ordinary Soldiers can master it after brief training.]

David's eyes lit up.

Wasn't this a divine tool tailor-made for urban warfare?

Whether it was the smaw rocket launcher or the stinger missile, the shooter needed to find the target before attacking.

In complex urban environments, the biggest problem was not being able to find the enemy.

But with this thing, everything would be different.

With the thermal imager on, enemies hiding in corners, behind windows, or ambushing in ruins...

...would turn into glowing human silhouettes, clearly displayed on the screen.

"Price."

[Unit price: $500.]

David didn't hesitate.

"Purchase four hundred sets."

[Total: $200,000.]

[Allocating from system warehouse...]

[Allocation complete, stored at the designated location.]

David picked up another phone and called Felipe, the commander of the Special Operations Regiment.

"Felipe, have your men go to the designated warehouse to receive a batch of new equipment."

He then dialed Jose, the head of 'Shadow'.

"Jose, go get your supplies."

Finally, he called Alberto, the Director of Intelligence.

"Alberto, I've prepared some toys for you. Send someone to collect them."

After the series of orders was issued, David's gaze turned toward the window again.

"Zia Jackson."

"I hope your madness can bring me a little bit of fun."

A few hours later.

Outside Potosí, at the National Defense Force's forward command post.

Felipe, the commander of the Special Operations Regiment, was standing with a few subordinates in front of a mysterious truck that had just arrived.

"Commander, what is this?" an operations staff officer asked curiously.

"A treasure sent by the Boss."

Felipe grinned, revealing a row of white teeth.

He stepped forward personally and pried open a dark green crate.

The crate contained no guns or ammunition, but rather neatly stacked black briefcases.

He opened one of them.

A palm-sized drone with a sci-fi design lay quietly in a foam pad.

"A drone?"

The nearby Soldiers crowded around, looking somewhat disappointed.

"What can this thing do? Aerial photography?"

"Shut up!"

Felipe glared at the Soldier who interrupted and carefully took the drone out.

He knew that anything sent by the Boss was definitely no ordinary item.

He carefully studied the manual and looked at the accompanying remote control with a screen.

"Get someone who knows how this works over here!"

Soon, a technical Soldier was called over.

Under the technician's guidance, Felipe pressed the power button.

The remote control screen lit up, and the indicator lights on the drone began to blink.

"Let's see it fly."

The technician manipulated the joysticks, and the drone slowly rose into the air, hovering in mid-air.

"Holy crap!"

The surrounding Soldiers were stunned.

"This thing... why is there no sound at all?"

"Yeah, it flies like a ghost. It's too quiet!"

Felipe's eyes also widened.

He walked under the drone and listened closely, only hearing an extremely faint electrical hum.

If this flew at thirty meters high, it would be impossible to detect!

"Check the camera!" Felipe shouted to the technician.

On the screen, an incredibly clear image appeared; even the texture of a distant tent was visible.

"Switch to thermal!"

The technician pressed a button, and the image on the screen instantly turned black and white.

In the distance, several patrolling Soldiers turned into bright white human silhouettes on the screen, standing out remarkably.

A Soldier was hiding behind a tent smoking; even that tiny, hot cigarette butt was clearly visible on the screen.

Everyone in the command post fell silent.

They stared fixedly at the screen, their breathing becoming heavy.

None of them were fools.

They instantly understood the value of this item in urban warfare.

With this, it was equivalent to giving every combat squad a pair of God's eyes!

Where the enemy was hiding, where they were ambushing, and how many people there were—all of it was clear at a glance!

Those rocket launcher and missile operators...

...before they even got a chance to show their heads, they would be picked off in advance by precision marksmen or grenade launchers!

How could they even fight back?

This battle was no longer a contest on the same dimension!

"Damn..."

Felipe snatched the remote control, his face flushed with excitement.

"With this, those guys in Zia Jackson's hands are just a bunch of firewood sticks!"

He turned to his adjutant and roared with all his might.

"This thing can increase the combat effectiveness of our Special Operations Regiment by at least sixty percent!"

"Quick! Distribute all two hundred and fifty of these treasures!"

"Every squad! Every combat group! Equip them all!"

"Tell everyone to drop what they're doing and learn how to use this thing right now!"

"I want everyone to be proficient in operating it before dawn!"

"Yes!"
