22: Lie down, I need to take care of something.
The morning sunlight streamed through the massive floor-to-ceiling windows, spilling onto the messy silk sheets.
Judy woke up in a wave of soreness, feeling as if every part of her body had been taken apart and reassembled.
She moved slightly, finding the space beside her already empty.
The sound of rushing water came from the bathroom.
She struggled to sit up, draped only in a loose-fitting men's shirt.
It was the exact one David had worn last night, still lingering with his scent.
The water stopped.
David walked out wrapped in a bath towel, droplets of water clinging to his bronzed, muscular physique.
His hair was slicked back wet, and he exuded a refreshing yet dangerous sexiness.
"Awake?" He picked up a towel to dry his hair, his tone as casual as if nothing had happened last night.
Judy's cheeks began to burn again; she nodded and whispered, "Mm..."
"Get ready, I'm taking you somewhere."
"Where to?"
David grinned, revealing his white teeth.
"To get you some new gear."
Half an hour later, at a luxury shopping mall in downtown San Francisco.
Judy felt like the female lead in the movie "Pretty Woman".
No, it was far more exaggerated than the movie.
From Chanel suits to Hermès Birkin bags.
From Cartier jewelry to Van Cleef & Arpels clover necklaces, and then to Jimmy Choo high heels...
David didn't even blink when he swiped his card.
The manager of every store came out personally to greet him, their attitude so respectful it was as if they were about to enshrine him.
From her initial excitement, Judy went to numbness, and finally, only a sense of unreality remained.
"David, this is too much." She carried bags of all sizes, feeling as if her arms were about to break.
"These things must add up to hundreds of thousands of dollars, right?"
"Pocket change." David waved his hand dismissively. "Your status is different now; dressing too shabbily would make me lose face."
He looked up and down at the brand-new Judy.
With the support of designer brands, her already outstanding looks and figure now radiated a dazzling brilliance.
Her temperament jumped straight from a struggling little actress to the level of a top socialite.
"Very good." David nodded with satisfaction. "Let's go, to the hotel."
The two did not return to the hillside villa, but instead went to the top-tier Fairmont Hotel in the city center.
In the presidential suite, shopping bags were casually tossed all over the floor.
Judy threw herself onto the soft, oversized bed and rolled around happily.
"I feel like I'm dreaming!"
David walked over, pinned her down from behind, and a wicked smile curled at the corners of his mouth.
"The dream isn't over yet."
He rummaged through a shopping bag and pulled out a set of... special attire he had just bought.
It was a prop that Judy had jokingly said she might need for filming while they were in a novelty shop.
A daringly designed flight attendant uniform.
"Dear passenger, what service do you require?" Judy quickly got into character, her voice sickly sweet.
David's breathing grew heavy.
For the next while, scenes even more exciting than any movie script played out in the hotel room.
From flight attendant to nurse, from female teacher to female police officer...
Judy was indeed a professional actress; she played every role convincingly, with her emotions and actions perfectly on point.
Until she tried a high-difficulty move and accidentally strained the ligament on her inner thigh.
"Hiss... it hurts, it hurts, it hurts..."
"I told you not to play so rough." David complained helplessly while carefully rubbing her leg.
"Just lie there obediently; I'm going to handle some things."
"You're leaving?" Judy grabbed his hand, her face full of reluctance.
"I'll be back after I finish my business." David kissed her on the forehead. "Wait for me like a good girl."
Leaving the hotel, the smile on David's face vanished instantly, replaced by coldness.
He got into the car and headed straight for the hillside villa.
In the living room, Alberto, Francisco, and Daniel had been waiting for a long time.
They stood straight, their expressions solemn, and bowed in unison when they saw David enter.
"Boss."
"Speak, how is the plan?" David took off his coat and sat directly in the main sofa.
Alberto stepped forward and handed over a tablet computer.
"Boss, this is the final plan we have developed."
"The target is the Federal Reserve vault in the city center. We have already figured out the security shift patterns, internal structure, and blind spots of the surveillance."
Francisco added, "The only trouble is that the San Francisco Police Department's response speed is very fast."
"Their SWAT team is well-equipped and can arrive within five minutes."
Daniel also said, "And the FBI's San Francisco field office is not far away; we cannot rule out the possibility of them intervening."
David swiped through the tablet, looking at the dense action details and 3D modeling on it, his face expressionless.
"Police and FBI... are you afraid?"
"Of course not!" Alberto immediately puffed out his chest.
"We are just listing all the risks."
"You know the combat quality of the brothers best; let alone SWAT, even if the Marine Corps came, we could still take them on!"
"Very good." David nodded, very satisfied with their confidence.
He pointed to a section in the plan.
"You only considered ground penetration. What if the police use helicopters to conduct fire suppression from the air? What will you do then?"
The three of them were stunned for a moment.
Alberto replied, "We have arranged for a Sniper, using an Armalite AR-50, which is enough to take out their engines."
"Not enough." David shook his head.
"The deterrent power of a Sniper rifle is limited, and it's easy to expose the Sniper point. If we are going to play, let's play big."
His finger tapped in the air.
"I'll equip you with two sets of 'Patriot' air defense missile systems. As long as any helicopter dares to get close, just blow it out of the sky."
"What?!"
Alberto and the other two instantly widened their eyes, doubting they had heard correctly.
Using a "Patriot" to hit a police helicopter?
Is this a bank robbery or World War III?
The boss's way of thinking is indeed not something mere mortals like them can keep up with.
"The boss is wise!" Alberto reacted the fastest and immediately said excitedly, "In that case, the airspace will be our no-fly zone! It will be foolproof!"
Francisco and Daniel also had faces full of fanaticism.
This is the kind of boss they want to follow!
Crazy enough! Awesome enough!
"What about the action time?" David asked.
"Seven o'clock tonight." Alberto replied.
"That time slot is the evening rush hour, the roads are most congested, which can maximize the delay of police support speed."
"That works." David stood up. "You go and prepare; in half an hour, come to the living room to collect your equipment."
He needed this money.
Many high-level goods in the "great nation manufacturing system" require real-world currency to unlock and purchase.
He plans to deposit all the money robbed this time into the system account.
After dismissing the three, David stood alone in the center of the empty living room and closed his eyes.
A blue virtual interface that only he could see appeared before his eyes.
【great nation manufacturing system】
【Arms Store】
He skillfully opened the weapon list and started purchasing.
"Holloway HAC-7 assault rifles, give me fifty."
"M24 Sniper rifles, ten, equipped with the best armor-piercing rounds."
"C4 explosives, give me one hundred kilograms."
"Individual night vision goggles, bulletproof helmets, heavy bulletproof vests... get the full set."
With his thoughts, the balance in the system account decreased rapidly.
Clatter!
On the empty space of the living room, a small mountain of various weapons and equipment appeared out of thin air.
The pitch-black muzzles glinted with the cold light of metal.
Brand new Holloway rifles, M24 Sniper rifles with cold, hard lines.
Boxes of golden bullets, as well as various grenades, explosives, and tactical accessories, exuded an aura of death.
David snapped his fingers and called Alberto and the other two back.
When they saw the "hard goods" all over the floor, they were deeply shocked once again.
Even though it wasn't the first time they had witnessed the boss's supernatural power, every time, it refreshed their perception.
"Distribute the items." David ordered calmly.
"Remember, tonight, I want the entire San Francisco to hear our name."
"Yes! Boss!"
Flames burned in the eyes of the three as they roared in unison.
After arranging everything, David put on his coat again and left the villa.
He still had a "role-playing" game that wasn't finished yet.
