58: The beach and all the beautiful women are gone.

David didn't even raise an eyebrow.

"Don't see him."

"Tell him that Santa Cruz has a new master now."

He turned his head to look at Pedro.

Pedro, his most capable business manager, a smart man well-versed in human relations and urban management.

"Pedro."

"Boss, I'm here."

"From now on, you are the new mayor of Santa Cruz." David's tone was unquestionable.

"I don't care what method you use; stabilize the city and ensure the people's livelihood."

"Water, electricity, food, medical care—nothing can be in chaos. I need a stable rear base, understand?"

Pedro was stunned.

Mayor?

A manager of a weapons company, becoming the mayor of a metropolis with a population of millions?

Isn't this career jump a bit too big?

But looking at David's sharp gaze, he swallowed all his questions and nodded vigorously.

"Yes, Boss! Guaranteed to complete the mission!"

"One more thing, Boss."

Oliver hesitated for a moment before asking, "We have captured nearly a thousand Government Army Soldiers; how should we handle them?"

David pondered for a moment.

"Lock them up first, provide them with good food and drink, and don't mistreat them."

"Once we repel the Government Army, they will be our best source for expanding our troops."

After dealing with these trivial matters, David sat into the newly materialized command vehicle.

Inside the vehicle, dozens of screens were lit up, connecting to various units and equipment.

But he always felt something was missing.

"Oliver, what is our biggest problem right now?" David suddenly asked.

Oliver thought for a moment and replied: "Intelligence. We don't know the specific location of the main force of the Government Army."

"Their marching route and troop deployment. We are currently blind and can only passively wait for the enemy to come to our door."

"Correct, we are blind."

David tapped on the table.

A blind man possessing an S-400 and a Tornado sounds quite ridiculous.

This problem must be solved!

He opened that familiar system interface again.

Looking at the few million USD remaining in his account, David felt a pang of heartache.

"System, top up for me! Two hundred million USD!"

Anyway, the vault of the Bolivia Central Bank had already been emptied by him, and the gold inside was enough for him to squander.

【Top-up successful, current balance: 200 million and XXX ten thousand USD.】

David's confidence instantly returned.

He quickly browsed through the mall.

Reconnaissance aircraft? Too slow.

Satellites? Too expensive, and easily discovered.

Got it! Drones!

【Rainbow-7 Reconnaissance/Attack Drone】

【Performance: High-altitude, long-endurance, stealth capability, capable of carrying various reconnaissance equipment and precision-guided weapons.】

【Unit price: 100,000 USD/set.】

Cheap! Easy to use! Large quantity and satisfying!

"Give me two hundred!" David waved his hand.

【Confirm purchase of 200 sets of Rainbow-7 Drone, total 20 million USD.】

Having planes alone isn't enough; you also need pilots.

"System, recruit two hundred of the top drone technical Soldiers for me!"

【Confirm recruitment of 200 drone technical Soldiers, total 200,000 USD.】

【Command confirmed, starting materialization...】

On the open ground of the airport, two hundred large boxes containing drones appeared out of thin air again.

As well as two hundred technical Soldiers wearing brand-new military uniforms, looking bewildered yet possessing professional competence.

"Oliver, go receive them." David pointed outside.

"Establish an Electronic Information Technology Battalion, directly under the command headquarters. Let that Captain named Casales be the battalion commander."

Casales, a former instructor of the Israeli drone unit, had just been recruited.

Soon, Casales trotted into the command vehicle.

"Boss, Casales reporting to you!"

"Very good." David pointed at the screen, "Immediately launch ten drones, five heading north, five heading south."

"Conduct a carpet search for me. I want to know the location, number, and equipment of every Government Army unit approaching us!"

"Yes, sir!"

Casales immediately issued the order.

At the airport, ten sci-fi looking Rainbow-7 Drones silently taxied, took off, and soon disappeared into the clouds.

A few minutes later, on the main screen in the command vehicle, the image was split into ten.

Clear, stable, high-altitude real-time images were continuously transmitted back.

Mountains, jungles, roads... everything was in full view.

David leaned back in his chair, watching the moving images on the screen, a cold arc curling at the corner of his mouth.

"Alright."

"Now, we are not blind anymore."

"Come on, Mr. President Hernán Siles, let me see how your fifty-thousand-strong army plans to die."

Southern Bolivia, Charagua Town.

The long convoy stirred up rolling yellow dust on the dirt road, the scorching sun baked the earth, and even the air carried a burnt smell.

The Third Brigade of the First Division of the Bolivian Army, a force with over four thousand Soldiers.

An elite force with over thirty AM8 armored vehicles and more than ten EE-9 assault guns, was moving along the coastal highway.

Advancing slowly and firmly towards Santa Cruz City in the north.

Brigade Commander Esdenso sat in the bumpy command vehicle, irritably tugging at his collar, his face full of displeasure.

"Damn it!"

He slammed his fist on the table, shaking the water in the cup until it spilled out.

"This damn weather! I should have been on a beach in Cancun right now, hugging a Mexican babe and drinking tequila! And what now?"

"Sent to this godforsaken place to wipe the asses of that bunch of trash from the Seventh Division!"

His vacation, the sunshine, beaches, and beauties he had been longing for, all went down the drain.

Thinking of this, Esdenso couldn't help but get angry.

What the hell is the Seventh Division good for?

A standing infantry regiment, over two thousand people, actually got crushed in an hour by a group of rebels that appeared out of nowhere.

Now, the President has personally ordered a national mobilization, and he, an unlucky guy who was on vacation, was urgently recalled to lead the Third Brigade from the far south all the way north to quell that ridiculous rebellion.

"Brigade Commander, calm down."

Chief of Staff Paz handed him a bottle of water, a calm smile on his face.

"If you look at it from another angle, this might not be a bad thing for us."

"Oh?" Esdenso raised an eyebrow and said unpleasantly.

"What's the good side? Is my vacation being ruined something worth celebrating?"

Paz remained calm and unhurried, leaning closer and lowering his voice.

"Brigade Commander, think about it. The Seventh Division can't handle this mess, it's their reputation that's lost."

"But if we, the First Division—no, if our Third Brigade—resolves this matter swiftly and decisively, what a great contribution that would be?"

His words added something else to Esdenso's irritable gaze.

"How will Mr. President see us? How will those old men at the Ministry of Defense evaluate you?"

Paz continued to guide him.

"Recapturing Santa Cruz and quelling the rebellion. Adding this to your resume is more useful than drinking tequila ten times in Cancun!"

"By then, we will rush into Santa Cruz City ahead of those slow-reacting guys from the Seventh Division, and all the media..."

"All the cameras will be aimed at you, Brigade Commander Esdenso! This is true glory!"

Esdenso's heart couldn't help but beat faster.

He seemed to have already seen himself standing in the Santa Cruz municipal square, accepting the cheers of the public and interviews from reporters.

Promotion! Fortune! A bright future!

"Damn it, you're right!"

Esdenso slapped his thigh hard, the resentment on his face swept away, replaced by a wolf-like greed and excitement.
