141: Chapter 141 Descendants of the Canglan Empire
A day later, the silver-gray spaceship was successfully opened, and scientists filed in, officially beginning the exploration and decryption work.
Su Fan, the Great Elder, and Xia Feifei also couldn't contain their curiosity and followed them into the interior of the silver-gray spaceship.
"Whoa!"
"It seems this spaceship was quite heavily damaged; even the captain's quarters are split open."
The new opening was made directly outside the captain's quarters, so the first place Su Fan and the others entered was the captain's quarters.
"Right? The battle back then must have been brutal," the Great Elder lamented.
Xia Feifei tiptoed through the slimy sludge, her face full of disgust.
"This sludge needs to be cleared out first, or it'll interfere with the excavation."
The captain's quarters were large, but after years of immersion in seawater, a massive amount of silt had accumulated, burying much of the equipment.
"Red Queen, deploy a desilting machine to clear out the silt here; it's disgusting." Su Fan's hand accidentally pressed against an object, getting covered in sludge.
"Chief Su, what you pressed on... doesn't seem right." An archaeologist walked over slowly, using a small brush to gently clean the spot Su Fan had touched.
"What a coincidence. Could it be that my luck is through the roof and I accidentally touched some treasure?" Su Fan joked with a chuckle.
"Chief Su is amazing!" Zhang Qiling gave a thumbs-up with a smile.
*Pfft—*
"Hahaha!"
"Su Fan, you're killing me!" Xia Feifei was nearby; looking at the "treasure" slowly being revealed under the archaeologist's brush, she suddenly realized something and burst out laughing.
"What's so funny?" Su Fan shook his hand vigorously, his face darkening.
He had also realized that the object he had just pressed was no treasure, but a skull!
"General Xia, don't dismiss it just because it's a skull; it truly is a treasure." The archaeologist carefully picked up the skull.
"With this, we can sequence the genes of this alien lifeform."
Holding the skull, the archaeologist's expression gradually turned to one of confusion.
"Huh?"
"The shape of this skull looks very familiar."
Su Fan immediately leaned in. "Familiar in what way?"
"Chief Su, please wait a moment. I need someone else to confirm before I can reach a conclusion," the archaeologist said with a smile.
"Dean Sun, please come over for a moment."
Hearing the archaeologist's voice, an elegant young man wearing glasses walked over.
By his eyes, Su Fan knew this was one of the elders from before; he only looked young on the surface now because he had been injected with gene optimization fluid.
But from his eyes, one could see the vicissitudes of time.
"Greetings, Chief Su, Great Elder, and General Xia." Dean Sun greeted them first before taking the skull from the archaeologist.
"Is this... a Caucasian skull?!" Dean Sun exclaimed in shock as soon as he took the skull.
Su Fan was also stunned and stepped forward to examine it closely. "Dean Sun, are you sure?"
"The shape is indeed identical to a Caucasian skull. Look at the nasal bone, the brow ridge, and the chin; these all perfectly match Caucasian characteristics," Dean Sun explained in detail to Su Fan while holding the skull.
"Did you bring a portable gene sequencer?" Su Fan asked.
"We brought it, we brought it!"
Not far away, a tall, thin professor carrying a large bag walked toward Su Fan.
"Sequence the genes of this skull and compare them with Caucasian DNA to see if it really is one." Su Fan's expression was grave.
He still remembered that underneath this silver-gray ship, the words 'Canglan Empire' were written!
If this skull really belonged to a Caucasian, then the origins of white people would be clear.
Several professors immediately began the gene sequencing.
It had to be said that technological progress improved the efficiency of most things.
After only a few minutes, the skull's genes were sequenced.
"Chief Su, after comparison, it's confirmed that the genes of this skull are the same as Caucasian genes; they belong to the same race!" The expert in charge of gene sequencing spoke with a serious expression, having realized the gravity of the situation.
"I see, thank you for your hard work. Search some more and see if there are any other remains, and sequence their genes as well." Su Fan nodded, his expression solemn.
"Great Elder, what do you think?"
"If this ship really is from the Canglan Empire, then the white people of Earth might be the descendants of the Canglan Empire," the Great Elder said, frowning.
Su Fan nodded, agreeing with the Great Elder's assessment.
"Previously on Shengyuan Star, I learned about the origins of our Xia Clan. At that time, I was still wondering—since the Xia Clan and the Shengyuan race share the same origin, where did the black and white people on Earth come from?"
"Now, the origin of white people has been revealed," Su Fan said solemnly.
"Since white people aren't of my Xia Clan, but are descendants of the alien Canglan Empire, I'm worried..." Su Fan didn't continue, but instead reached out and made a throat-slitting gesture.
"You have a point. Those who are not of our kin will surely have different hearts. If they were just a small civilization, it would be one thing, but the Canglan Empire... that doesn't sound like a civilization that's easy to deal with." The Great Elder frowned.
Su Fan's heart stirred, and he silently called out to the system: "System, you should be able to tell me the civilization level of the Canglan Empire now."
"Level 4 civilization," the system replied succinctly.
"I knew it!" Su Fan breathed a sigh of relief internally. A Level 4 civilization still offered a chance; if it were Level 5, he would have to continue leading the Xia Country to develop in secret.
A small desilting machine arrived. Some experts, worried that a robot's clumsy operation might damage important items, personally operated the machine to carefully clear the silt.
"Chief Su, several more skeletons have been found. After gene sequencing, we've discovered that the genes of these skeletons are all Caucasian." The expert from earlier reported to Su Fan immediately.
"Alright, I understand. Carry on with your work," Su Fan said with a smile.
"Yes, Chief Su!" The genetics expert took his leave.
"Great Elder, it's now certain that white people are descendants of the Canglan Empire. We must come up with a plan as soon as possible."
"Whether to kill them or let them stay!" Su Fan's tone was serious.
"We do indeed need to resolve this issue quickly." The Great Elder nodded. "Furthermore, I have another theory."
"Do you think the other black alien spaceship might contain the ancestors of black people?"
Su Fan's eyes lit up upon hearing this.
"If that's the case, then it will be easy to deal with."
"Indeed!"
The Great Elder glanced at Su Fan and suddenly smiled.
Su Fan also understood tacitly, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.
"Come, let's head out first. Data recovery and decryption won't be finished in a day or two. Let's go open the other black alien spaceship first." Su Fan stepped out, walking slowly toward the newly opened hatch.
The Great Elder and Xia Feifei followed close behind.
