17: Chapter 17 Exchange Solid State Battery Technology
It was currently 12:30 PM, and the scheduled interview time was 4:00 PM.
With over three hours left, Su Fan decided to exchange for and extract the Solid-State Battery technology.
After all, he would be interviewing a PhD student shortly; if he didn't understand anything himself, how could he judge if the candidate's technical skills were up to par?
There were several types of solid-state batteries in the super god black technology system, all categorized as Level 0 black technology.
The most expensive one cost 9,999 Influence Points.
Su Fan didn't hesitate and chose the most expensive one; with hundreds of millions of Influence Points in the system, he couldn't possibly spend it all.
Furthermore, the system's positioning of black technology was very accurate—the 9,999 version was definitely better than the 8,888 one.
After clicking 'purchase,' the all-solid-state battery technology fell into the system warehouse.
However, he didn't extract it immediately because he would pass out for a while after doing so.
So, he opened the door and shouted to Zhou Xiaoxiao, who was still in the first-floor living room, "Xiaoxiao, I'm going to sleep for a bit. Don't disturb me. I won't eat the takeout for now. If that PhD student arrives, tell him to wait!"
"Alright, my dear Boss Su! Remember to practice moderation!"
Su Fan: "..."
What on earth was she talking about!
He closed the door, lay on the bed in a comfortable position, and then clicked to extract the black technology.
Su Fan's eyes rolled back, and he decisively fainted.
Two hours later, Su Fan woke up rubbing his temples.
He checked the time; it was 2:30 PM. There was still enough time to grab a meal.
Holy crap, food! I'm so hungry!
Su Fan quickly got out of bed and dashed to the first-floor living room, finding that his portion of takeout was still unopened.
He pounced on it, tore it open, and began to feast ravenously.
Zhou Xiaoxiao was nearby chatting with the incoming interviewee. Su Fan's sudden appearance and his gluttonous eating style made her eyes widen in shock.
"Su Fan, how many days has it been since you last ate?"
"We just ate after 9:00 AM, and it's not even 3:00 PM yet. You shouldn't be this hungry!"
Zhou Xiaoxiao teased.
"Quick, go to the kitchen and get me that box of instant noodles. Hurry, I'm starving to death!" Su Fan said indistinctly while eating.
"Wait, isn't a large portion of BBQ mixed rice enough?" Zhou Xiaoxiao said, though her long legs were already moving toward the kitchen.
Without waiting for Su Fan's instructions, she directly opened several cups of instant noodles and started brewing them with hot water.
Su Fan saw this and made a mental note of her kindness.
After finishing the takeout, Su Fan downed twenty cups of instant noodles in one go before finally feeling full.
Zhou Xiaoxiao watched from the side, dumbfounded, her hands numbly handing over the brewed noodles one after another.
Her worldview had been shattered.
How could a human being eat so much?
After finishing the meal, Su Fan slumped on the sofa like Ge You, comfortably rubbing his rounded belly.
Truth be told, he really had put on some weight recently.
Zhou Xiaoxiao was busy clearing the trash from the dining table. Wearing loungewear with her hair casually tied up, she actually gave Su Fan a sense of a virtuous wife's gentleness.
Su Fan hurriedly shook his head to dispel the thought.
In his eyes, marriage was not a beautiful thing.
That marriage had caused him a great deal of pain after the divorce.
In fact, his ex-wife was also his first love. Although they only started dating in university, they had known each other since the first year of junior high.
They could be considered childhood sweethearts.
But sweethearts turned sour, and the devoted became the discarded. In the giant melting pot of society, even the deepest feelings couldn't withstand the offensive of money.
"Su Fan, that PhD student sent a message saying he'll arrive at 3:30."
Zhou Xiaoxiao looked up and brushed back a stray lock of hair. That brief moment of charm stirred Su Fan's originally calm heart.
Scared, he quickly chanted to himself that women were like floods and savage beasts, and that women would only slow down the speed at which he drew his sword.
"Su Fan? Su Fan?"
"What's up?"
"Nothing," Su Fan said, pretending to be indifferent.
"There's still half an hour. I'll be waiting for him in the third-floor study. When he arrives, bring him up." Su Fan got up and went to the third floor.
Zhou Xiaoxiao watched Su Fan's receding back, the corners of her mouth curling up slightly, her eyes full of mischief.
"Hmph!"
"You blockhead!"
...
Zhang Minghan sat on the bus, his head lowered and brow furrowed. The slight dark circles under his eyes proved he hadn't been sleeping well lately.
As a top student from Shuimu University, he shouldn't have been in such a pathetic state, but after being blacklisted in the industry by that powerful professor, he still hadn't found a job.
It wasn't that he couldn't find one at all, but rather that he couldn't find a suitable one.
He thought of a character from an essay he once studied: Kong Yiji.
With a self-deprecating laugh, he realized he was exactly like a modern-day Kong Yiji.
Everyone mocks Kong Yiji, yet everyone is a Kong Yiji.
He really couldn't bring himself to interview at small companies.
But now, his mother had suddenly been diagnosed with uremia. The daily costs of dialysis were like a death warrant, forcing him to set aside his ridiculous pride and lower his head to seek a high-paying salary, even if it was at a small company.
He used to be his parents' pride. Now that he had returned to his hometown, if he couldn't even earn enough for his mother's treatment, he would be ashamed of all those years of schooling.
As the bus got closer to the company, Zhang Minghan's gaze became more determined. A grown man must face difficulties head-on!
He had heard of Super God Company; he had even downloaded super god photo editing on his phone, as well as the newly launched cute pet paradise game.
Both products were very impressive; he could see how terrifyingly advanced the underlying algorithms were.
Why would such a promising emerging software company suddenly want to do new energy batteries instead of delving deeper into its own area of expertise?
Zhang Minghan was a bit puzzled.
But it didn't matter. He wanted to join this company, and more importantly, the salary was high.
That Manager Zhou who recommended him said the minimum salary was 100,000 per month, and if he performed well, it would be even more.
With this money, his mother's dialysis costs would be covered.
Soon, the bus arrived at the stop. Standing before the villa district, Zhang Minghan felt some doubt.
Although Manager Zhou had given him the address as No. 8 Longcheng Community, he had been genuinely confused ever since he received it.
After all, a very wealthy company would build its own office tower; an average one would be in a CBD business district or industrial zone; if they lacked money, they'd at least rent an apartment to look more formal; and if they were really broke, they'd be in an urban village.
But being in a villa district felt very awkward.
Villas were fine for living, but with so many employees, how would they work?
For Super God Company to develop super god photo editing and cute pet paradise, they must have many technical staff.
With these doubts, Zhang Minghan arrived at the guardhouse, called Zhou Xiaoxiao, and the guard let him in smoothly.
After hanging up, Zhou Xiaoxiao gave Su Fan a heads-up, then opened the front door and waited outside.
Five minutes later, Zhang Minghan arrived at Villa No. 8. Seeing a graceful, cool beauty waiting at the door, he hurried forward to greet her.
When he learned that Zhou Xiaoxiao was Manager Zhou, his eyes were full of disbelief.
She was too young; looking at her age, she must be a recent university graduate.
Zhou Xiaoxiao's account on the recruitment platform didn't use a real photo.
After a brief chat, Zhou Xiaoxiao led Zhang Minghan to the third-floor study, where Su Fan was already waiting quietly.
This was his first time interviewing someone rather than being interviewed; to be honest, Su Fan felt a bit of novelty and nervousness.
