130: My goddess has been picked up in a luxury car again.

"Where are we going to play games?" Liu Yifei asked curiously. She had originally thought that when Li Xiuwu mentioned playing games, he meant taking her to play computer games.

"You'll know when we get there." Li Xiuwu gave a mysterious smile. "When we pass by Peking University, we'll pick up Chang Chang too."

The car left the Courtyard House and drove north.

At the entrance of Peking University, Shu Chang stood there waiting. Her pretty appearance drew everyone's attention.

Shu Chang was a very famous talented woman at Peking University; not only were her grades in her major excellent, but she was also a celebrity.

"Beep beep." The sound of the car horn attracted many people's gazes.

"Brother." Shu Chang looked at Li Xiuwu in surprise, jogged over, opened the back door, and sat inside.

"My goddess was picked up by a luxury car again," someone wailed.

"Stop howling, she has nothing to do with you anyway."

"Yeah, I've never owned her, yet it feels like I've lost her a thousand times over."

"Let's go, let's go. This idiot's brain is probably off in some fantasy world again."

... "Xixi, where is Brother taking us?" Shu Chang asked Liu Yifei after getting in.

"I don't know. He said he's taking us to play games."

Peking University was not far from the Shangdi Science and Technology Park. Before long, the car stopped at the entrance of Dream Time.

"Dream Time," Shu Chang said in surprise.

"What, you've heard of it?" Li Xiuwu heard the surprise in Shu Chang's voice and looked back.

"I've heard classmates at school talk about it. Everyone says that the cafeteria at Dream Time in Shangdi Science and Technology Park is incredibly delicious, comparable to a five-star chef."

Shu Chang recounted the legends circulating on the Peking University campus.

"Many seniors in the computer science department dream of working at Dream Time after graduation."

Li Xiuwu was stunned by this; he hadn't expected Dream Time's cafeteria to be so famous already.

However, it made sense when he thought about it. This science park was only a few kilometers away from Tsinghua and Peking University. Many of the people working in the park were graduates of those two schools, and many interns were current students there.

It was understandable that such news would spread back to the schools.

"Perfect. I'll treat you to a taste of the legendary Dream Time cafeteria at lunch. Let's get out, we're here." Li Xiuwu pushed open the car door.

"Boss." The security guard at the entrance saw Li Xiuwu and immediately stepped forward.

"Boss?" Liu Yifei and Shu Chang exclaimed simultaneously. They looked up at the building and the four large characters for Dream Time, before finally fixing their gazes on Li Xiuwu.

"Please help me park the car." Li Xiuwu handed the car keys to the security guard.

"Certainly, Boss. Should I notify President Chi to come down?" the guard asked.

"No need. I'm just here to see how the testing for the new game is going. No need to make a scene."

He turned back and said to Liu Yifei and Shu Chang, "Let's go. We'll head inside and I'll let you play the new game."

The two of them snapped out of their shock, looking at Li Xiuwu in disbelief.

"What's wrong? Shocked already?" He smiled at the two girls.

"When did you start this company?" Liu Yifei was the first to recover. She had already seen Li Xiuwu's chip lab, so seeing a game company seemed somewhat acceptable by comparison.

"In '02, I think. During the summer break."

Both were filled with astonishment; they must have just met him around that time.

They followed Li Xiuwu into the company, looking around at the interior as they walked.

The decor was relatively minimalist, but many areas were covered with massive game posters featuring various game characters.

There were also game plushies.

"Adventure Island is published by your company?" Liu Yifei was shocked. She had played this game, found it very interesting, and had even spent money on it.

"Yes," Li Xiuwu nodded.

"Boss, why didn't you notify us you were coming?" Chi Yufeng had received word from the guard and came out to greet him.

"I'm just here to check on the new game's testing. These are Liu Yifei and Shu Chang; I brought them along for a look."

"This is President Chi Yufeng, the General Manager of Dream Time."

"Hello, ladies." Chi Yufeng gave a simple greeting, looking at the two incredibly beautiful girls.

His gaze fell on Shu Chang. "Miss Shu is a signed artist with Golden Culture, right? We're essentially colleagues in sister companies. I heard you're attending classes at Peking University; feel free to come by whenever you have time."

"Oh, thank you." Shu Chang was surprised. Even now, she was a bit dazed and hadn't fully processed that Dream Time was Li Xiuwu's company.

This company was very famous at Peking University; it was the most renowned game company in Beijing, bar none.

Currently, this company was considered the ideal employer for students in the gaming field at Tsinghua and Peking University.

"Let's go see the new game first." Li Xiuwu was quite looking forward to seeing how the new game turned out.

His investment and the company's prestige had allowed this game to be released a year early; this timeline was now incredibly close to world of warcraft.

Currently, world of warcraft was also in its closed beta phase and had not yet started its open beta.

Chi Yufeng led Li Xiuwu and the others toward Zulong Studio, introducing the basic situation of the game along the way.

"We've currently invited many students from Tsinghua and Peking University for internal testing, and the feedback has been generally excellent." He had a smile on his face.

This was the first large-scale 3D online game in the country. Its growth system and complex, varied gameplay were on a level that would crush any other game on the market.

Chi Yufeng brought Li Xiuwu and the others to the game's internal testing hall. The layout here was similar to an internet cafe, with rows of computers. Every seat was occupied, and game footage was displayed on their screens.

"Feather Spirit, heal! Tiger, hold the aggro!" Li Xiuwu heard someone giving commands. He walked over and found they were running a Level 19 Cultivation dungeon.

This early-stage dungeon mini-boss was quite difficult for these players and required strong coordination.

Liu Yifei and Shu Chang stared wide-eyed at everything before them.

Li Xiuwu observed many people's screens. These people were at various levels; some were grinding mobs to level up, while others were testing for bugs.

"Boss, there are a few machines over here. Would you like to try it out?" Chi Yufeng arranged for several idle computers.

"Sure." Li Xiuwu's hands were itching to play; he had truly spent a lot of time grinding this game in the past.

There were test accounts on the computers. He clicked login, and a background CG appeared, narrating the history of the Perfect Continent and the great wars of the past.

This part was different from the original history; the studio had accepted Li Xiuwu's suggestion to flesh out the game's lore.

He clicked the character creation button: three major races, six classes.

Li Xiuwu clicked through them one by one. The graphics were very detailed, much better than in his previous life.

The skills for the six classes were the same as in his previous life, but there were now introductions for the hero backgrounds of the characters.

He looked at each one and felt they were quite good. He clicked on the Human race, stopped at the Blademaster, and created a character.

Liu Yifei and Shu Chang didn't play immediately but watched how Li Xiuwu played: taking quests, killing mobs, and meditating to recover health and mana.

"This is very interesting, let's try it too," Liu Yifei said to Shu Chang. The two of them sat back at their own computers, fumbled through character creation, and began to play.

Entering such a world for the first time was truly addictive. Liu Yifei and Shu Chang were already immersed in their characters, taking quests and killing mobs to complete them.

Li Xiuwu experienced the feeling of grinding mobs to level up for a while, but in the end, he couldn't recapture the feeling of the past.

He decisively turned on GM mode, boosted himself to max level, equipped a set of top-tier gear, and teleported all over the world to experience the general gameplay.
