77: Zhang Dahuzi brought the reporters here.

Just as Li Xiuwu and Liu Yifei were staring at each other, Liu Xiaoli returned.

She saw Liu Yifei's huffy expression and Li Xiuwu grimacing.

"Auntie, she pinched me," Li Xiuwu immediately complained upon seeing Liu Xiaoli.

"You're the bully!" Liu Yifei exploded when she saw Li Xiuwu making the first accusation.

Liu Xiaoli felt a headache coming on. She had no interest in settling their dispute and directly changed the subject: "Have you two eaten yet?"

"We ordered food; it should be here soon." Li Xiuwu glanced at his watch; it had been about half an hour since he ordered.

Just as he spoke, the doorbell rang, and Li Xiuwu went to get the food.

"Auntie, you haven't eaten either, right?" Li Xiuwu brought the food and set it out in the backyard dining room.

"Yeah, let's eat together," Liu Xiaoli said, looking at her daughter who was still huffing.

"Come and eat quickly."

"Mom, what did you do?" During the meal, Liu Yifei asked Liu Xiaoli what she had done that morning, since she had left so early.

"Chen Jinfei needs capital and wants to invite your uncle to dinner." Liu Xiaoli frowned, thinking about what she had heard today.

"Godfather needs money? Is it a lot?" Liu Yifei's eyes widened.

"A group called Giant Crocodile Assets from Hong Kong has a batch of land they want to sell at a very high price. Chen Jinfei wants to acquire one of the plots."

Today, through Chen Jinfei's envy of the massive assets, she also learned about Giant Crocodile Assets' operations.

They acquired the land in the second half of 2002 and let it sit idle for a year. This year, due to the release of Beijing Document No. 4, the values had all doubled.

In less than two years, the returns had multiplied several times. She took a deep breath after hearing this.

The plot Chen Jinfei had his eye on was expected to cost 500 million in cash to acquire, whereas Giant Crocodile Assets had originally bought it for only 120 million.

"Oh." Liu Yifei didn't understand these things and didn't have much of a concept of money; her own money was always enough to spend anyway.

Li Xiuwu only looked up when Liu Xiaoli mentioned Giant Crocodile Assets, but he didn't say anything.

"The auction is next month. Do you two want to go see it?" Liu Xiaoli asked them.

She was mainly looking at Li Xiuwu, wanting to show off the strength behind her.

"What's so interesting about land auctions?" Liu Yifei had no interest, earning her a glare from Liu Xiaoli.

Li Xiuwu also expressed a lack of interest. Liu Xiaoli didn't bring it up again, but she didn't drop the idea.

After lunch, Pan Lei and Lin Qian came to pick up Li Xiuwu.

"Auntie, I need to go to the company this afternoon." He said goodbye and headed to Golden Culture.

After Li Xiuwu left, Liu Xiaoli found Liu Yifei in the front yard loft, plucking at a newly bought guzheng.

She often heard Li Xiuwu play and had fallen in love with ancient music, so she bought a guzheng to teach herself.

Due to the presence of the array in the Courtyard House, her comprehension was very high. Her fingers plucked the strings, playing quite decently.

As the piece ended, Liu Yifei looked up happily. "Mom, am I amazing?"

"Not bad." Liu Xiaoli nodded, very satisfied with her daughter's performance.

"Haha." Liu Yifei looked proud. "My guzheng teacher said I'm a genius."

"A genius? I think you're a little dummy." Liu Xiaoli tapped her forehead.

"What dummy? I'm very smart." Liu Yifei dodged her mother's finger, looking displeased.

"Smart? I didn't see it. When I mentioned the auction during lunch, how did you respond?"

"Isn't it boring? Why would we go see that?" Liu Yifei said what was on her mind, not understanding her mother's underlying motives.

Liu Xiaoli sighed slightly. This daughter of hers had been protected too well; she didn't have a scheming bone in her body.

"In a few days, when I bring it up again, you say you want to go and that you want to bring Xiuwu along, okay?"

"Why?" Liu Yifei didn't quite understand what was so interesting about a land auction.

"Mom won't hurt you."

"Fine." Liu Yifei was very smart now, but there were still some things she couldn't grasp... Li Xiuwu arrived at Golden Culture to find Zhou Xiaowen there, looking a bit weary.

"Teacher Zhou, you haven't been resting well." Li Xiuwu walked over to ask with concern.

"It's alright." Zhou Xiaowen's spirits were good, and a smile appeared on his face when he saw Li Xiuwu.

"I've been keeping an eye on the post-production of Legend of Sword and Fairy. The special effects, editing, and soundtrack are progressing smoothly." Zhou Xiaowen thought the company had called him in to ask about the show.

Just then, Wang Cheng walked over. "Director Zhou, Boss, let's go to the conference room first."

"It's like this, Director Zhou: our company has greenlit two more TV series, and we'd like you to continue as the Yu Min for one of them."

Once in the conference room, Wang Cheng got straight to the point about why they had sought out Zhou Xiaowen.

Zhou Xiaowen frowned as he looked at the script in front of him.

He flipped through it. The script was decent, with a similar charm to Legend of Sword and Fairy.

"I'm still overseeing the post-production of Legend of Sword and Fairy." Zhou Xiaowen shook his head. The script and actors for the show were excellent, giving him the feeling that they were creating a classic.

He wanted to follow through with the post-production to make the series the best it could be.

Wang Cheng looked at Li Xiuwu. He had originally planned to ask Zhou Xiaowen to direct flying immortal from beyond the heavens, as Zhou Xiaowen and Li Xiuwu had worked together before.

"Teacher Zhou, do you have any good Yu Mins to recommend?" Li Xiuwu didn't insist on having Zhou Xiaowen.

"How about Yu Min?" Zhou Xiaowen thought for a moment before speaking.

"Your script is very well-written. Yu Min has the professional ability, and he has one important trait: he listens to advice." The first person Zhou Xiaowen thought of was Yu Min.

Among the Yu Mins he had worked with, Yu Min wasn't necessarily the most outstanding, but while maintaining professional standards, he wouldn't mess with the script.

Among well-known Yu Mins, not messing with the script was a truly rare quality.

A certain famous Director Chen would make screenwriters break down and curse every time he filmed.

Every time, he would change the script so much that even its own mother wouldn't recognize it.

Looking at this famous Yu Min's resume, there wasn't a single screenwriter who had worked with him a second time.

"Since Teacher Zhou recommends him, contact Director Yu and ask," Li Xiuwu said to Wang Cheng.

Just then, there was a knock on the conference room door.

Wu Jia stood up and went to open the door. An employee stood there with an anxious look on their face.

"What's going on? Didn't I say not to disturb the meeting unless it was urgent?" Wu Jia asked.

"Manager Wu, there are a lot of reporters outside," the employee said.

"Reporters? What's the situation? Why are they at the company?"

"Come in and tell us. We'll discuss the problem together." Li Xiuwu, having sharp hearing, told Wu Jia to let the person in.

Wu Jia opened the door, and a young employee entered. "Boss, President Wang."

"Tell us, what's the situation?"

"It's Big Beard Zhang. He's brought reporters and is downstairs wanting to see President Wang."

Li Xiuwu looked at Wang Cheng with a questioning gaze. He remembered telling him not to work with Big Beard Zhang.

Under Li Xiuwu's gaze, Wang Cheng's face darkened. He had felt that Big Beard Zhang was a perfect fit for the return of the condor heroes, but since Li Xiuwu disagreed, Wang Cheng had rejected him outright.

Later, he also looked into it and found that the boss and Big Beard had an unpleasant history of cooperation.

He hadn't expected Big Beard Zhang to bring reporters. What was he doing? Did he want to use the power of the media to force him to hand over the return of the condor heroes?
