75: The company is my home

"I understand." Qiu Wanjun nodded. Though he felt it was a pity, he now fully trusted Li Xiuwu's judgment.

Li Xiuwu spent some time inspecting the company, then headed to the cafeteria for lunch at noon.

"I'm saying, can't your company cafeteria make a few more dishes?" After the cafeteria was renovated, employees from other companies who came to buy food could no longer see the internal employee dining area.

However, the problem of there not being enough food to sell remained unchanged.

Li Xiuwu took a few glances and walked into the dining area.

"Working at the company is still the most relaxing and comfortable. Going home for the New Year, I felt exhausted every single day," an employee eating in the dining area chatted idly.

"Exactly. Coming back to work, I feel light and refreshed. After working at the company for a few days to recharge my energy, I'll go back and show that fierce wife of mine what's what." A man patted his chest.

"The company is my gas station."

Lin Qian, following behind Li Xiuwu, looked at these people in astonishment. Are they crazy? They actually love working this much.

"Having a New Year's break made me feel like I aged five years. The company is still better." A female employee finished her meal and, instead of rushing off, looked at her skin in a mirror.

"Yeah, yeah. After a year of work, I feel full of energy, and even my skin has improved."

These employees had never hated holidays so much; they felt like the company was their own home.

"The chef's skills have improved quite a bit." As Li Xiuwu ate, he felt the taste was much better than the last time he visited.

"It's delicious. It can rival chefs from average star-rated hotels. Even government cafeterias aren't this good." Lin Qian was very surprised by the taste of the food.

He had just checked when getting his food; the prices weren't high, but the portion size and taste exceeded his expectations.

No wonder so many people were lining up outside to get food and complaining the chef made too little. With this quality, buying it was a steal.

"Boss." While the two were eating, a man carrying a tray came over to greet them.

"Han Zheng, come sit and eat with us." Seeing him, Li Xiuwu invited him to join them.

This was the same man who had been in line during Li Xiuwu's first visit to the cafeteria.

Provoked by Li Xiuwu that time, and truly envious of the benefits at Dream Time, he had come to apply for a job and successfully joined the company.

Li Xiuwu had remembered his name when he came to hand out bonuses before the New Year.

"Thank you, Boss." Han Zheng didn't stand on ceremony; he set down his tray and sat opposite Li Xiuwu.

"How is it? Are you settling into the company well?" Li Xiuwu asked him.

"I'm settled, very much so. You wouldn't believe how much employees from the surrounding companies envy me." Han Zheng was quite talkative, extroverted, bold, and confident.

"Oh? How exactly are they envious?" Li Xiuwu was curious. He only knew that his own employees generally had a good opinion of the company, but he didn't know what those from other companies thought.

"Our company's salary is considered relatively high in this area, and the facilities are great." Han Zheng listed what he thought was good about the company.

"Hehe, those outsiders don't know the half of it. What really makes other employees jealous is our staff meals."

Han Zheng chuckled and took a bite of food.

"There's a great variety, the taste is excellent, the portions are large, it's fresh and clean, and it's cheap." Han Zheng spoke with a sense of pride.

"The cafeteria staff prep and wash the vegetables outside where everyone can see. Sometimes when they're too busy, they even pull people from upstairs to help. Everyone knows exactly what they're eating."

Han Zheng had originally come to Dream Time just for this food. With comfortable work and great meals, he felt this was his best decision ever.

Dream Time had become quite famous in the vicinity. Many people wanted to join, but given the company's size and low turnover, it was nearly impossible to get in unless they expanded or made an exception for top-tier talent.

"It's just that the company has too few self-developed projects." Han Zheng sighed a bit at the end.

He was also an R&D talent. In the company, he felt his inspiration flowing and was making technical breakthroughs, but his current work didn't allow him to fully utilize his skills.

Li Xiuwu smiled. Good grief, so he was waiting for him here.

He wasn't angry; daring to voice his thoughts to the boss's face was a sign of confidence and capability in itself.

When it came to technology, arrogance was useless without substance.

"What area of research do you specialize in?" Li Xiuwu asked him.

"I've done a lot of research into game development." Han Zheng's face was full of confidence.

"What are your thoughts?"

"Hehe, I want to transfer to Zulong Studio, but Chief Qiu won't agree." Within the company, only Zulong Studio was developing games. He had gone there to chat often and felt he was more suited for it.

At Dream Time, he was involved in the R&D of the social platform, responsible for perfecting various functions. The platform was somewhat intended to imitate QQ.

"I can't interfere with that." Li Xiuwu refused directly. The fact that Qiu Wanjun wouldn't let Han Zheng go to Zulong Studio meant Han Zheng's technical skills must be quite good.

In his chat with Qiu Wanjun that morning, the latter already had the idea of forming a game development team to develop games independently.

Han Zheng was disappointed and sighed, feeling like a talent whose potential was being overlooked.

"Dream Time cannot remain an agent forever," Li Xiuwu reminded him.

"Hmm?" Han Zheng looked up. Since those words came from the boss, he immediately understood what Li Xiuwu was implying.

"Alright, we're leaving. Keep it up, Han Zheng," Li Xiuwu said to him.

Walking out of the cafeteria, Pan Lei drove the car over, and Li Xiuwu got in.

Before getting into the car, Lin Qian looked back at the building. It really was a company full of vitality.

"Brother Pan, do you have any needs regarding your family?" Li Xiuwu asked Pan Lei, who was driving.

"No, don't worry, Boss. The salary you're giving me is already above the normal level, plus there are the social security benefits."

Pan Lei was extremely satisfied with the salary Li Xiuwu provided, and the benefits were beyond reproach. He felt full of motivation.

"Boss, I feel like from the moment I signed the employment contract, my body has been filled with strength. My peak power has returned."

He was very excited, and his voice couldn't help but sound a bit more confident.

"Haha, that's good. We'll be working together from now on. If you have any difficulties, just say so, and we'll solve them together," Li Xiuwu said with a smile.

The New Year had passed, and the second run of 'demi-gods and semi-devils' had finished airing. Combined with 'wish you prosper', Li Xiuwu's fame had completely taken off.

He received many invitations for commercial performances. Especially after 'wish you prosper' became a hit, too many large shopping malls wanted Li Xiuwu to make an appearance.

For the duration of one song, the appearance fee was 100,000 yuan.

This price far exceeded what his current status in the industry warranted. However, Li Xiuwu didn't accept any of them.

If he went to do these small-time gigs now, it would definitely be a stain on his history later.

"Li Xiuwu." Upon returning home, Liu Yifei had actually returned. She stood prettily in front of Li Xiuwu.

"You've grown taller over the New Year. It seems your holiday meals were pretty good." Li Xiuwu patted her hair.

Liu Yifei slapped Li Xiuwu's hand away: "I'm not a child anymore, don't keep patting my head."

"Xiuwu is back. Have you eaten?" Liu Xiaoli heard the commotion and walked out, holding Little Lion in her arms.
