59: Herb Hunting

The Phase Spider Queen stood on the high platform, her hideous maw agape, letting out a deafening shriek.

The other two lightly injured Phase Spiders were positioned on either side of the platform, forming a triangle with the Spider Queen, and similarly growled menacingly at us.

Lilian's Water Elemental was the first to charge to the base of the platform, its ice blade glinting with cold light, and it fiercely struck one of the Phase Spiders.

Fiona's magical vines followed closely, darting like venomous snakes towards the other spider.

However, the two Phase Spiders instantly flickered and vanished from their spots, dodging the attacks from the Water Elemental and the vines.

At the same time, the Spider Queen opened her huge mouth and spat out a web infused with acid towards the Water Elemental and the vines respectively.

The magical vines, covered by the web, rapidly contracted, and several vines cooperated to quickly shake off the web's adhesion.

But the surface of the vines still showed several scorched marks, sizzling with green smoke.

The Water Elemental was completely covered by the web, which was immediately absorbed into its body by the water flow.

The acid was diluted within the Water Elemental's body and did not cause any substantial damage to it.

Finally, I leaped to an astonishing height towards the fifteen-meter-high rock platform ahead, landing lightly on its summit.

The Phase Spider Queen seemed to possess some extraordinary perception; she abruptly turned towards my direction and let out a piercing shriek that struck the heart, a sound that seemed to tear space itself.

As the shriek faded, the Spider Queen's form blurred and twisted in the blink of an eye, then vanished from her spot like a ghost, leaving only a faint trace, as if space itself had warped.

My heart tightened; I felt she had already seen through my Invisibility.

Just as I stared at the moment she disappeared, an idea struck me. "Dragon King, move!" I whispered, commanding the Dragon King, who was already invisible in the air.

Upon hearing this, the Dragon King's form subtly shifted, almost merging with the air, and it streaked across the sky with astonishing speed, heading directly for the herbs growing in the rock crevices on the high platform.

At the same time, I took a deep breath, swiftly formed hand seals, and chanted an ancient and powerful incantation, my body swaying slightly with the rhythm of the spell.

A flicker of astonishment crossed the Spider Queen's eyes; she clearly had not expected me to launch an attack at that moment.

The power of the Thunderwave instantly erupted, and the Spider Queen was forced to endure almost the full damage of the lightning, with over a dozen points of lightning damage leaving fine cracks on her hard exoskeleton.

At the same time, a huge force violently pushed her away, like a leaf caught in a strong gust of wind, uncontrollably flying towards the edge of the platform.

With a desperate shriek, the Phase Spider Queen finally lost her balance and plummeted from the high rock.

The residual power of the Thunderwave did not dissipate; it continued to rage around me, sweeping most of the nearby spider eggs into its embrace.

Those fragile egg sacs burst under the lightning's impact, egg fluid and fragments splattering everywhere, and a nauseating stench filled the air.

At this point, the Dragon King had already flown to the herbs, and it swallowed the herbs whole, along with their roots and soil.

I immediately sensed that those herbs had appeared in my system space.

Looking down from the high platform, the entire cave came into view.

By now, Lilian had exited the Water Elemental's body, and the ice shield slowly rotated around her.

She gently waved her hand, and the massive Water Elemental, as if receiving a command, instantly transformed into a surging torrent, like an angry water dragon, rising into the air and coiling towards the falling Spider Queen.

At the same time, Fiona also gently waved her hands, sending out several vines that twisted and coiled in the air like living creatures, finally striking the plummeting Spider Queen.
