84: Paladin in the Moonlight
As night deepened, the atmosphere in the camp grew more lively. Everyone felt the sense of security brought by this newfound strength.
Randall sat by the campfire, meticulously wiping his armor and shield. The firelight danced on his focused face, reflecting the majesty and compassion befitting a true Holy Knight.
While Jasper was still around, I began to carefully select goods from this caravan.
Old Hather followed beside me, offering professional advice from time to time.
"The Midwinter Festival is approaching," Old Hather whispered, "People will need new clothes to celebrate the holiday, especially garments that will make them shine at banquets."
I nodded, selecting some exquisite everyday clothes, and specifically chose a noble-style boy's outfit—a dark blue velvet coat with silver thread embroidered on the collar and cuffs, paired with a white silk shirt and black breeches, which suited me perfectly.
"These weapons and armor," Old Hather said, pointing to the neatly arranged equipment, "are always in high demand before the Midwinter Festival. People will reward their guards at this time, or prepare for the adventures of the coming year."
I selected several sets of standard leather armor, each meticulously tanned and exuding a faint leather scent;
Dozens of standard longswords, their blades gleaming coldly, their hilts wrapped in non-slip leather;
Dozens of standard long spears, their tips sharp and their shafts straight;
And several sets of standard full body armor, though not comparable to Randall's set, they were also finely crafted.
"That horse," Old Hather said, pointing to the tallest white warhorse in the herd, "is a purebred from the Shining Plains, with excellent endurance, perfectly capable of carrying Lord Randall in his heavy armor."
I walked over and carefully examined the horse.
This horse was enormous, several feet taller at the shoulder than ordinary horses, standing like a majestic small mountain.
Its muscles were fluid and powerful, showing astonishing strength and endurance,
It had dazzling white fur, smooth as silk, and a bright sheen, with strong muscles rippling beneath its skin and an arrogant look in its eyes.
I had Randall try riding it for a lap.
Randall approached this tall white warhorse, and the warhorse seemed to sense the sacred aura emanating from him, gently lowering its head, allowing Randall to stroke its silky mane.
The moment Randall swung onto its back, it was as if an epic painting unfolded before everyone's eyes.
His tall stature complemented the warhorse's perfect physique, and the white warhorse and silver armor reflected each other, casting dazzling light under the moonlight.
The warhorse's strong muscles displayed elegant power under Randall's control, every step full of rhythm.
Under the bright moonlight, Randall gently shook the reins, and the warhorse immediately understood his intention.
It raised its head, letting out a clear neigh, and then gracefully began to move.
Its hooves stepped on the snow, making steady, powerful sounds, as if war drums were beating.
Randall straightened his back, the holy emblem on his chest gleaming under the moonlight, the golden crown and Black Panther paw pattern seemingly coming to life.
The warhorse's fluid muscles shimmered with a pearly luster under the moonlight, reflecting the dancing silver light on Randall's armor, as if spirits condensed from moonlight were dancing gracefully.
Randall raised his tower shield, the holy emblem on its surface glowing with a soft golden light under the moonlight.
The light was not dazzling, but carried a reassuring sacred aura.
When he gently pulled the reins, the warhorse immediately understood his intention, gracefully completing a perfect turn.
Under the moonlight, the warhorse's white mane flowed like a waterfall, blending with the dancing silver light on Randall's armor.
"It's too perfect!" Old Hather couldn't help but exclaim, "This horse is simply tailor-made for Lord Randall! A Holy Knight under the moonlight, what a beautiful scene..."
John was even more dumbfounded, muttering, "This... this is simply a guardian bestowed upon us by the Moonlight Goddess... I have never seen such a sacred sight..."
Randall gently reined in, and the warhorse immediately stopped, showing excellent obedience. He lowered his head and stroked the warhorse's neck, the moonlight plating his chiseled profile with a silver edge.
The white warhorse and silver armor, the holy emblem under the moonlight and deep blue eyes, formed an unforgettable picture in the night, like a dream woven by the Moonlight Goddess herself, perfectly blending holiness and power.
I gazed at the figures of the man and horse under the moonlight, secretly marveling:
This is simply a match made in heaven!
Randall was already extraordinarily handsome, and with this magnificent white horse, he was even more striking.
His upright posture, majestic demeanor, plus the dancing holy emblem light on his armor, he was truly a Holy Knight who had stepped out of an epic poem.
Such an image, just standing there, could inspire awe, let alone the shock he would cause when charging into battle.
Thinking of this, I seemed to already see the future:
How the common people along the way would revere Randall when he appeared in any city riding this white horse;
When he appeared in the market, how many young people would be captivated by this sacred image, willingly following us to Black Panther Fortress...
"Old Hather!" I exclaimed, barely containing my excitement, "Buy this horse!"
Old Hather nodded knowingly, taking out his exquisite scale from his In arms, bargaining over every penny with Jasper.
While Old Hather was weighing the salt for payment, Jasper led me to a pile of specially made boxes. The boxes were crafted from high-quality wood, with copper corners and complex protective runes carved on them. "Magic equipment is here," he said, opening the boxes to reveal neatly arranged items inside, "Though not rare treasures, they are all very practical."
