115: Chapter 115 Become a discarded pawn, unaware of the oriole behind.

He suddenly straightened up, his palm slamming heavily onto the solid wood low table, producing a dull thud.

David tilted his head back and laughed loudly.

The laughter echoed inside the enclosed vehicle compartment.

"Molecular-level seamless casting technology." David stared at the piece of metal, enunciating each word heavily.

"The Chinese, Lu Chen. He truly has methods; to prevent us from reverse engineering it, he actually used this kind of technology."

Peter chimed in from the side.

"Sir, this type of encapsulation technology is at least ten years ahead of ASML's existing equipment; our physical detectors can't even penetrate the frequency."

"Of course it can't penetrate."

David extended his finger and flicked the yellow label.

"Ordinary physical methods won't be able to pry it open at all. Hammering, water jets, cryogenic extraction—it's all useless. This is an extreme anti-theft and anti-tampering measure."

David's eyes were full of fanaticism. "The more this is the case, the more it proves that the core control unit inside is a priceless treasure."

Zhou Cheng lay sprawled on the wool carpet, watching David's frenzied appearance.

He didn't understand that "molecular-level technology" thing, but he understood one thing.

The item was very valuable, and David was very satisfied.

On Zhou Cheng's mud-stained face, his flesh bunched together, pulling into a smug smile.

He used both hands to brace against the edge of the seat and straightened his back.

"Mr. David." Zhou Cheng rubbed his mud-covered hands, his voice tinged with urgency.

"What you wanted, I risked my life to get."

David's gaze was still on the module.

"Well done, Zhou."

Zhou Cheng grew anxious and leaned forward half a step, reaching out both hands to grab tightly onto David's suit cuff.

The muddy water immediately soaked through the high-end fabric, leaving two black marks.

"Sir, the ten million US dollars we agreed upon, and my US green card."

Zhou Cheng's lips trembled, his speech extremely fast.

"The key to the Long Island villa that you promised me. Give it to me quickly, take me on the plane right now. I want to leave this damn place; I want to go to New York."

David's laughter stopped.

The fanaticism quickly faded from his face, returning to extreme indifference.

David lowered his head, looking at his soiled cuff.

Two vertical lines appeared on his brow again.

"Let go." David spat out the two words without a trace of warmth.

Zhou Cheng was stunned for a moment; instead of letting go, he gripped it even tighter.

"Sir, the money, my money, you can't cheat me. I can't even go back to BYD anymore; I've offended everyone in Jiangcheng."

David didn't waste any more words.

He suddenly raised his left arm, gave it a forceful shake, and yanked it backward violently.

The suit cuff was forcefully ripped from Zhou Cheng's hand, emitting a harsh sound of fabric friction.

David leaned back, his back pressed tightly against the seat, increasing the distance from Zhou Cheng.

He extended his right hand, reached into his suit's inner pocket, pulled out something, and held it between his index and middle fingers.

A black bank card with no markings.

David flipped his wrist, back of his hand facing up, and loosened his fingers.

Clatter.

The bank card fell in front of Zhou Cheng, hitting a lump of foul-smelling mud, getting stained with dirty water.

"Take it." David's tone was coldly calm.

Zhou Cheng stared at the card on the ground, not picking it up. He looked up at David, his eyes vacant.

"What... what does this mean? Is the ten million US dollars in there?"

"There is 500,000 in there." David looked at him, his eyes like he was looking at a dead dog. "RMB, your service fee."

A buzzing sound filled Zhou Cheng's brain, and blood rushed straight to his head.

"500,000." Zhou Cheng lunged forward, grabbing the edge of the seat with both hands. "500,000? Are you dismissing a beggar? What about the ten million US dollars? Where is my green card? Where is my villa?"

David sneered.

The laughter was short and harsh.

"Green card? Villa?" David picked up the white gloves he had used to touch the metal block. He took them off finger by finger, and after taking them off, threw them into the trash can beside him.

David looked at Zhou Cheng, "What do you have to demand that?"

Zhou Cheng shouted at the top of his lungs, "I helped you steal the core module, I helped you achieve the greatest merit. Without me, you wouldn't even see the shell."

"Is that so?" David pulled a silk handkerchief from his jacket pocket.

"You betrayed the company you worked for for eight years, betrayed your country, and for a little bit of money, sold the most core secret to me."

David covered his nose, his voice muffled coming through the handkerchief.

"Zhou... you don't even have a bottom line. How can you expect me to believe that after you go to New York, you won't sell out Morgan for twenty million?"

Zhou Cheng froze, his pupils constricting.

"Morgan." David looked into his eyes. "Never keeps dogs that have no utility value."

Every word cut like a knife.

Zhou Cheng opened his mouth, a wheezing sound coming from his throat, unable to utter half a word.

Killing the donkey after it grinds the mill... the phrase exploded in his brain.

"No~ Mr. David, you can't do this, take me with you."

Zhou Cheng reached out to grab David's pant leg. "Lu Chen will kill me, Da Biao will peel my skin off, please take me with you."

David's brows knitted together completely.

"You stink too much." David retracted his foot. "Get out."

The moment the words fell.

In the front row, two burly foreign bodyguards suddenly turned around.

Their movements were extremely fast; one bodyguard grabbed Zhou Cheng's shoulder and threw him outward. The other bodyguard raised his heavy combat boot, the sole creating a gust of wind, and kicked heavily onto Zhou Cheng's chest.

Bang!

A dull thud.

A sharp pain shot through Zhou Cheng's sternum, and his breathing cut off.

His entire body, like a rag doll, flew backward directly out of the vehicle compartment, tracing a parabola in mid-air.

He slammed heavily onto the cold gravel ground on the side of the auxiliary road.

Crash.

The clothes on his back were torn, gravel digging into his flesh. Zhou Cheng rolled twice on the ground and landed face-down in the muddy water.

"David." Zhou Cheng spat out a mouthful of sour liquid into the mud. He raised his head, his hands grabbing the stones on the ground, trying to crawl up.

Click.

The sliding door of the business van closed mercilessly, the rail emitting a cold sound, locking shut immediately.

Inside the car, David didn't even glance out the window.

He picked up the red encrypted secure phone beside him and dialed a long-distance transoceanic call directly.

It beeped three times, then connected.

David's voice was very low, tinged with excitement.

"God's creation has been obtained."

David continued, "The Chinese used the most advanced extreme anti-tampering technology. Room-temperature physical disassembly is impossible; there must be a cross-era silicon-based arrangement code hidden inside."

David's tone was extremely resolute.

"Immediately clear out the National Laboratory at the New York headquarters and transfer all irrelevant personnel away." David issued the order. "Bring out the ultra-high-frequency particle cutting instrument."

David stared at the silver-gray iron shell on the table.

"Prepare the highest power high-energy laser cutter. As long as we cut it open, the Chinese's trump card will be ours."

He hung up the phone.

David knocked on the partition of the driver's seat.

"Let's go, to the airport."

Vroom.

The Toyota van's engine let out a dull roar, its tires rolling over the road, kicking up a spray of muddy water.

With a step on the accelerator, the black vehicle body rushed into the pitch-black highway, its taillights quickly swallowed by the darkness.
