157: Chapter 157 Dimensional Reduction Attack, Flesh and Blood Grinding Mill
The palm suspended in mid-air suddenly struck down.
A dull, humming sound exploded in Davis's ears. A low-frequency shockwave swept across. The screen of the night-vision device inside his helmet instantly burst into static. The communication channel was left with only sharp, electronic noise.
His face turned deathly pale. Electromagnetic suppression. This was a tactic at the level of a regular army.
Before Davis could signal for a retreat, hundreds of military-grade searchlights with million-lumen intensity ignited simultaneously in the dark night from all directions without any warning.
The intense light, like countless tangible sharp swords, tore through the heavy rain. The twelve top foreign mercenaries were instantly exposed, all pinned firmly in the center of the muddy ground.
The muscles at the corners of Davis's eyes twitched wildly. He narrowed his eyes, stung by the intense light, and finally saw the behemoths behind the beams of light. Those were not flashlights in the hands of security guards from a rundown factory.
They were over a dozen tracked heavy infantry fighting vehicles. The thick cannon barrels pointed coldly at their heads. In mid-air, the propellers of five armed helicopters frantically shredded the rain, churning up mud everywhere.
A Mengshi off-road vehicle roared, turned on its headlights, and arrogantly plowed through the mud to stop in front of the formation.
Da Biao was biting on a cigarette, standing boldly on the roof of the vehicle. He didn't even wear a raincoat, letting the icy rain wash over his bronze chest muscles, which were full of veins. He pressed the walkie-talkie, his mouth curling up to his ears.
"You dare to come to our factory and stir up trouble with this scrap metal?" Da Biao laughed arrogantly, "Do you really think our Chenguang Electronics is a wet market?"
A black commando next to Davis didn't want to believe it. He roared, raised his specialized rifle, and attempted to blind-fire at the searchlights in mid-air.
The gunfire never had a chance to ring out.
In the darkness, the vehicle-mounted 30mm autocannons and several heavy sniper rifles spat fire simultaneously. No warnings, no negotiations. This was called physical clearing.
The muzzle flashes flickered blindingly. The black mercenary who had raised his gun was cut in half, person and weapon alike. Viscera mixed with shattered bones exploded in the rain. Steaming flesh and blood splattered across Davis's face.
The flesh grinder had officially started.
The twelve top mercenaries, who usually touted themselves as gods of death, didn't even last five seconds under the absolute level of firepower coverage.
Severed limbs were torn apart like tattered rags, not even a single intact corpse was left behind. Everything melted into the foul-smelling mud, dyeing the stagnant water for dozens of meters around a deep scarlet.
Davis's scalp went numb. He just wanted to roll into the deep water ditch nearby.
Bang. A dull, extreme explosion rang out.
A large-caliber sniper armor-piercing round pierced his right thigh. Large chunks of flesh flew everywhere. He lost his balance completely and collapsed heavily into the muddy water. The submachine gun in his hand was also smashed into two pieces.
The gunfire ceased abruptly. All that remained around them was the sound of the heavy downpour.
Da Biao jumped off the hood of the off-road vehicle, his thick-soled military boots stepping through the thick blood-water on the ground as he walked over. He grabbed Davis by his golden hair and dragged him backward like a dead dog.
A wheezing, miserable scream erupted from Davis's throat. His hands clawed desperately into the mud on the ground. All his fingernails split, dragging two long, bloody trails on the ground.
Ahead, a black long-handled umbrella was slowly descending from the steps of the main office building.
Lu Chen held the umbrella with one hand, his old black jacket zipper open, his yellowed old leather shoes stepping steadily into the puddles. Every step was taken extremely slowly and steadily.
Da Biao threw his hand violently, tossing Davis at Lu Chen's feet. Davis was convulsing in pain, his face covered in mud and his companions' blood, looking utterly wretched.
"Big Brother, I specifically left one breathing." Da Biao pulled out a red apple and took a big bite, "These bastards are too fragile; they break at the slightest touch."
Lu Chen flicked the half-finished cigarette butt from his fingertips into a puddle. With a hiss, the spark was completely extinguished.
He lowered his head slightly, his calm gaze falling on Davis's face. There was no emotional fluctuation. This kind of gaze was the same whether looking at a living person or a dead object.
"Your boss is named Anderson, right?" Lu Chen's tone was extremely flat.
Davis raised his head abruptly, staring dead at Lu Chen, his upper and lower teeth clattering together.
"I am a legal citizen of the United States." Davis yelled at the top of his lungs to bolster his courage, "You actually used heavy troops to deal with civilians. I want to see the people from the embassy. Boss Anderson will never let your whole family go."
Lu Chen didn't even twitch an eyebrow.
"You got one thing wrong." Lu Chen moved the black umbrella aside, letting the cold rain drift into his jacket collar, "There are no civilians here. Only terrorists who entered our country's military restricted zone with heavy firepower without supreme authorization."
The Colonel jumped down from the armored vehicle and walked with large strides to Lu Chen's side. With his hands behind his back, he looked at Davis in the mud with an expressionless face.
"Factory Director Lu is absolutely correct." The Colonel's voice was colder than the wind and rain, "Five minutes ago, we truthfully reported the sudden border-crossing situation. The reply from the capital was just four words: Execute on the spot."
Davis's pupils contracted violently. He finally realized what level of iron plate he had kicked. This seemingly rundown electronics factory owner in front of him could actually make the top heavy-armored division of the great Eastern power serve as his guard dog wholeheartedly.
"No... you can't kill me." Davis's voice began to tremble crazily, "I know the core inside information of the Morgan Group. I know Anderson's next contingency plan. I can tell you all of it. I'll tell you everything."
Da Biao stepped forward and kicked hard on the wound of Davis's mangled broken leg. Davis let out a miserable scream comparable to a slaughtered pig, his body curling up into a shrimp from the pain.
"Cut the crap." Da Biao spat out the apple core, "Answer whatever my big brother asks. If you dare to bargain one more time, I'll smash your remaining three limbs and feed them to the dogs right now."
Lu Chen took a transparent plastic lighter from his pants pocket. Click. The red flame flickered slightly in the wind and rain. He lit another double happiness cigarette.
"You thought your raid plan was very tight." Lu Chen exhaled a thick white smoke ring, "Manhattan, New York, the president's office on the top floor of the Morgan building. Anderson used that brass password box in the corner and pressed that red alarm button, didn't he?"
Davis froze completely. He even forgot the heart-wrenching pain in his leg.
That president's office was equipped with the world's highest-level anti-eavesdropping coating. Except for Anderson himself, even his personal secretary was not allowed to take a step inside. How could this Chinese person, half a globe away, know such terrifying details?
"You... how could you possibly know?" Davis looked at Lu Chen as if he were looking at a devil, his eyes filled with total collapse.
"You are not qualified to know." Lu Chen said lightly, "Old Zhou."
Old Zhou, holding a tattered plaid umbrella and clutching a black waterproof briefcase under his arm, trotted over.
