213: Chapter 213 Slag Delivered to the Door, the Ultimate Sneak Attack from the Land of Sakura
Lu Chen's hand had just touched the doorknob of the control center.
"Magnify the image!" Lu Chen stared at the changes on the giant screen and stopped abruptly, turning around.
Wu Dong's hands moved so fast across the mechanical keyboard they left blurs, and the surveillance footage of the Deepwater Port dock was instantly zoomed in to the maximum.
After being sharpened by the system backend, the details of the square metal instruments held in the hands of those people were all exposed on the screen.
"Boss, look at the gadgets in their hands." Wu Dong hit the Enter key, pulling up a stream of data, "Advanced underground pulse detectors and micro-drone interfaces. This is military-grade special equipment used to scan massive underground structures. And..."
Wu Dong pulled up a high-definition screenshot of a profile he had just captured, and comparison information from the database quickly refreshed on the side.
"They aren't from Freemasons." Wu Dong pointed to the side profile with high cheekbones on the screen, "The comparison results are out. These are remnants of Mitsui Heavy Industries. The leader is Watanabe Jiro, the younger brother of Watanabe Ichiro. Freemasons insignia they're wearing is a disguise they put on on purpose."
Da Biao rubbed his reflective bald head, widened his eyes, and leaned toward the screen: "These bastards even steal other people's brands to wear? What did they come here for?"
"The people wearing protective suits have the typical gait of special forces soldiers," Wu Dong continued his analysis, "Synchronized steps, silent landings. These are definitely sleeper agents retired from the Sakura Country military. Using the heavy rain and the dark of night as cover, they're coming for the anti-gravity chassis under the Chengbei foundation pit."
The group from Sakura Country wouldn't give up. After being thoroughly bankrupted by Lu Chen's massive capital pool financial strangulation, they actually dared to send remnants to steal the underground vibration data and metal spectrum of the anti-gravity chassis beneath the eight-thousand-mu foundation pit.
"What unteachable animals." Lu Chen's eyes turned ice-cold.
It would be one thing if they didn't provoke him, but daring to come to the doorstep of Chenguang Factory to steal things was touching his deepest reverse scale.
Da Biao twisted his thick metal neck, and his joints crackled like popping beans: "Boss, I'll take the brothers to the dock right now and crush all these bastards and throw them into the sea to feed the fish."
"Wait." Lu Chen fished a double happiness out of his pocket and bit down on it without lighting it, "Going to the dock would be too easy on them. That's a civilian port; if we make too much of a scene, it'll be a bloody mess to clean up, and it's an eyesore."
Lu Chen turned to look at Wu Dong and issued an order: "Notify all regular security along the Deepwater Port line to withdraw. Cut the traffic lights in the three blocks leading toward the Chengbei direction, and leave them a clear, unobstructed green channel. Let them in."
Wu Dong's fingers hovered over the keyboard, stunned for a moment: "Let them go straight to the Chengbei High-Tech Zone?"
"Yes." Lu Chen's tone was calm, without a single ripple, "Let them walk all the way to the Chengbei High-Tech Zone. Don't alert them. That place is now a top-level military restricted zone. Spies trespassing into a special military restricted zone are to be executed on the spot; no procedures are needed."
Da Biao grinned, revealing a mouthful of white teeth: "Boss, this move is vicious. Shutting the door to beat the dog, we even save the trouble of digging a hole to bury the bodies."
"Go get the men. One hundred sets of the new model Exoskeleton." Lu Chen spat out the tobacco shreds from his mouth, "Tighten the net. Don't let a single rat escape."
Da Biao grabbed the military communicator off the table and strode out the door.
In the suburbs of Jiangcheng, on the only road leading to the Chengbei High-Tech Zone.
The night was oppressive. Two cloned heavy box trucks sped along the deserted streets. There wasn't a sliver of light inside the cargo compartments.
Watanabe Jiro sat on the bumpy non-slip steel plate, clutching the handle of the pulse detector tightly. Opposite him, fifty Sakura Country special forces soldiers in fully enclosed protective suits were fully armed, holding their breath and focusing.
"Mr. Jiro. The operation is going too smoothly." A special forces captain nearby lowered his voice, his tone full of disdain, "We've crept all the way from the Deepwater Port, crossing three blocks, without encountering a single Huaxia sentry. Even the traffic lights have been clear all the way."
Watanabe Jiro sneered and reached out to flick the fake Freemasons insignia on his chest.
"Lu Chen is just an upstart with a bit of luck." Watanabe Jiro's tone was filled with greed, "Does he think that by using barbaric means to bring down the Mitsui Zaibatsu and break my brother's legs, he can sleep soundly? He doesn't understand what real military infiltration is at all."
The special forces captain chimed in: "The Huaxia people's defenses are riddled with holes. As long as we get the data on that huge metal object in Chengbei and transmit it back to Tokyo, our mission will be a complete success."
"Once we get the metal spectrum and structural vibration frequency, we'll have the capital to rebuild Mitsui. We can even trade this core data with the other side of the ocean for the highest-level privileges." Watanabe Jiro stared intently at the tactical tablet, "Prepare for action. We're almost at the perimeter of the target."
The heavy truck braked sharply and stopped at the edge of a wasteland. The doors opened silently, and fifty dark shadows quickly leaped out of the cargo compartment, merging into the night.
The heavy rain had only just stopped. The ground was covered in slippery, sticky mud.
Watanabe Jiro signaled with tactical gestures, leading the fifty elite special forces soldiers to lie in the muddy water and crawl forward on their hands and knees. In the distance, at the core of the eight-thousand-mu Chengbei High-Tech Zone, the roar of massive machinery sounded rhythmically.
They carefully crept to the three-kilometer warning line.
The spiked steel anti-tank obstacles lay across the mud. The surroundings were terrifyingly quiet. There was no engine noise from patrolling armored vehicles, nor were there any armed sentries on guard.
"Sir. The No. 3 guard tower ahead doesn't have its searchlights on." The scout who had gone ahead returned, knelt on one knee, and reported in a low voice, "The perimeter defense is completely paralyzed. There must be a major disaster inside; they've pulled everyone out to fight the fire."
Watanabe Jiro was overjoyed. He recalled the intelligence department mentioning that there had been violent energy fluctuations in Underground Level 3 of Chenguang Factory during the day; it seemed to be true.
"What a godsend. Amaterasu Omikami is watching over us." Watanabe Jiro lay on the edge of the mud pit and raised the pulse detector, "Disperse and stay in place. Hide and await orders. Release the micro-detection mosquito drones."
The fifty special forces soldiers quickly opened the black special-purpose backpacks on their backs.
Hundreds of micro-drones, only the size of a coin and coated with a fully reflective stealth coating, were quickly activated. The dense buzzing of rotor vibrations sounded in the dark night.
The drone swarm immediately took off, flying at full speed directly toward the eight-thousand-mu foundation pit inside the warning line.
Watanabe Jiro stared fixedly at the screen of the tactical tablet in his hand. The green data progress bar began to jump slowly.
Just three minutes. As long as these drones got close to that two-hundred-meter black chassis and transmitted back even one second of reflected waves, the mission would be a complete success.
"Keep a close eye on the surroundings. Don't let anyone get close." Watanabe Jiro's palms were slick with cold sweat as he lowered his voice to issue the order.
The progress bar on the screen jumped to twenty-nine percent. Suddenly, it froze.
The screen of the tactical tablet suddenly erupted with extremely violent static. The sound of high-frequency interference current stung Watanabe Jiro's eardrums.
"What's going on? Is the signal cut?" Watanabe Jiro pounded the screen twice.
He looked up at the pitch-black night sky.
Without warning. In the air dozens of meters ahead, hundreds of azure electromagnetic turbulence light-nets instantly exploded.
The screeching of ultra-high-frequency oscillating alloy combat blades tearing through the air was deafening.
The light-nets intersected and sliced through the air without any blind spots. Hundreds of expensive micro-detection drones didn't even have time to sound an alarm before they were instantly shredded by the terrifying metal storm.
Countless pieces of metal debris, smaller than a fingernail, fell into the muddy water in a shower of sparks.
"Baka! It's an ambush! Take cover and defend!" Watanabe Jiro's eyes were about to pop out as he screamed hysterically.
The moment the words left his mouth.
"Swish! Swish! Swish!"
All around the wasteland. Exactly one hundred high-intensity tactical searchlights lit up simultaneously.
The blindingly bright white light instantly tore through the darkness, illuminating the muddy open ground so clearly that every blade of grass was visible.
Watanabe Jiro and the fifty Sakura Country special forces soldiers were all lying in the bare, muddy water pit. There was nowhere to hide.
They instinctively raised their suppressed submachine guns, attempting to aim at the light sources.
"Boom."
The mud thirty meters ahead suddenly collapsed.
One hundred massive dark gray figures slowly walked out from behind the intense light.
Fully armed new-model titanium alloy Exoskeletons. The three-meter-tall metallic sense of oppression. The hydraulic pumps emitted a heavy, coarse roar. The blue neural-link eyes radiated a suffocating aura of death under the searchlights.
One hundred heavy-armored Death Squad Soldiers completely sealed off all escape routes for these fifty special forces soldiers.
Watanabe Jiro lay on the ground. His legs trembled uncontrollably. The submachine gun in his hand felt like it weighed a thousand catties; he couldn't raise the muzzle at all.
Those were pure weapons of war. Mortal flesh and blood were not even worth a piece of paper in front of these monsters.
One hundred Exoskeleton armors stopped in unison. Metal combat boots crushed the mud.
The armor in the very center took a step forward. The five-ton thrust titanium alloy sole stepped down mercilessly, crushing the pulse detector Watanabe Jiro had dropped on the ground into a thin pancake of scrap metal.
Da Biao flipped open his heavy tactical mask, revealing a face covered in flab and fresh knife scars.
He dragged a two-meter-long ultra-high-frequency oscillating alloy combat blade in his hand. The blue high-temperature plasma glow on the blade caused the surrounding rainwater to evaporate, distorting and warping the air.
A Death Squad Soldier squad leader nearby walked up, his heavy tactical boots splashing mud everywhere.
"Captain." The squad leader glanced at the shivering Sakura Country men on the ground and asked loudly for instructions, "The boss has orders on how to deal with these rats?"
Da Biao lowered his head, staring fixedly at Watanabe Jiro in the muddy water.
He slowly raised his thick mechanical right arm and twisted his five-ton thrust titanium alloy neck, the joints emitting a chilling grinding sound.
Da Biao grinned, letting out an extremely brutal, savage laugh.
"The boss said: The people from Sakura Country are to be shredded and thrown into the deep sea to feed the fish; even their bones are too dirty to keep."
