55: Chapter 55 The Miracle Cut in Half, 50,000 Spot Goods Sweep Across the Market

He reached directly into the black toolbox on the ground and pulled out a heavy-duty industrial double-toothed chainsaw that stood at least half his height.

He put on his industrial goggles.

Lu Chen pulled the starter cord of the chainsaw.

Vroom... bzzzzzt.

The large chainsaw let out a roar capable of drowning out all other sounds.

The high-speed spinning saw teeth left afterimages in the air.

"I'm going to cut this open for you today to see if there are any magic props inside."

Lu Chen hoisted the chainsaw and pressed it directly onto the warm Solid-state battery.

The alloy teeth bit fiercely into the dark purple crystal core.

Blinding sparks erupted in a massive spray, scattering into the air.

The ear-piercing sound of metal grinding made everyone cover their ears in pain.

Lu Chen exerted force with both arms, pressing down hard.

With a crisp crack.

The entire high-energy Solid-state battery, fully charged and still connected to the lightbulb,

was, in front of thousands of people and a live stream reaching the entire internet,

cleanly sliced right down the middle into two disconnected halves by Lu Chen.

One half fell to the left, and the other fell to the right.

The test lightbulb that had been glowing went out because the circuit was severed.

The roaring of the chainsaw ceased.

Lu Chen hit the switch and tossed the hot chainsaw onto the floor.

The exhibition center went so quiet that you could hear a pin drop.

Only the sound of Wang Teng's heavy breathing remained.

Lu Chen used the sole of his shoe to kick one of the severed battery halves to the feet of the technical director with the black-rimmed glasses.

The cut surface was smooth, with a completely dense, dark purple metallic texture; there was no leakage and no burnt smell.

"Did you bring your equipment?"

Lu Chen asked him.

The technical director shuddered, then immediately pulled a professional portable multimeter from his briefcase.

With trembling hands, he pressed the red and black probes of the multimeter directly against the cross-section of the severed battery half.

Beep, beep.

On the multimeter's digital LCD screen, the red numbers flickered rapidly before finally steadying.

The technical director held up the multimeter, tears streaming down his face.

He turned around and roared at the top of his lungs to all the peers and media in the venue.

"One hundred and twenty volts! Constant voltage output! It's only half left! It's still outputting stable voltage! It still works!"

This roar became the final fuse to ignite the entire venue.

The dozens of high-and-mighty executives from major joint-venture and domestic car companies in the front row completely threw aside all restraint and image.

A group of middle-aged men in high-end suits rushed toward the two halves of the purple crystal scattered on the floor like maniacs.

"Don't snatch it! Let me see the cross-section structure!"

"This is a miracle! It can still be used as a battery after being cut in half? Even if a car were cut in two, it wouldn't catch fire!"

"What the hell is that fast-charging, overheating piece of junk from Tengfei Electronics? How dare they price that thing at three hundred thousand?"

"Mr. Lu!"

One executive rushed directly to Lu Chen and grabbed his arms tightly.

"We'll take the whole lot! No matter how expensive this battery is, whether it's five hundred thousand or one million per set, we'll pay in full tomorrow! You must supply our production line first!"

Several people surrounded Lu Chen, their eyes filled with fanaticism.

In the face of such absolute technical dominance, the beautifully packaged gimmicks of the foreign-funded press conference seemed utterly ridiculous.

Wang Teng stood blankly on the steps.

The microphone slipped from his hand, hitting the floor with a harsh screech.

He had lost, completely lost, without even a chance to fight back.

In the face of such technical dominance, the paid articles he had prepared were nothing but waste paper.

David was hiding behind a pillar backstage, his face pale and covered in cold sweat.

He immediately took out his black phone, preparing to report this terrifying matter to his superiors.

The Chinese had truly broken through the insurmountable wall of safety technology.

"I don't believe it..."

Wang Teng was covered in sweat, his lips bloodless, gasping for air.

He suddenly saw a straw to clutch at.

Wang Teng suddenly rushed off the stage and shoved aside two car company representatives surrounding Lu Chen.

"What are you all fighting over! Buy what?!"

Wang Teng roared hysterically, spittle flying everywhere.

"So what if this battery still works even when cut into shreds!"

Wang Teng pointed at Lu Chen's nose, his face twisted in a snarl.

"You've all been fooled! This is definitely a one-off prototype they spent months making in their lab! Who knows how many hundreds of millions they poured into the cost!"

Wang Teng clung desperately to this final logical loophole, his voice cracking from the strain.

"Every supplier of yttrium star stone in the industry has completely cut off cooperation with Chenguang Electronics! They've been cut off for ten whole days!"

Wang Teng looked around, his face twisted.

"They don't even have a single gram of refined material in their warehouse right now! Mass production is impossible! A piece of scrap metal that can't be mass-produced and will forever only serve as an exhibit—what's the point!"

Wang Teng's words extinguished the passion of those fanatical car company executives.

Everyone froze.

The supply cut crisis was real; without upstream materials, even the most impressive technology would just rot on the blueprints.

Lu Chen reached up and took off his goggles. Looking at the frantic Wang Teng, a cold sneer curled the corners of his mouth.

He had been waiting for this bastard to dig his own grave.

"If you can't deliver the goods, you'll be on the hook for forty billion in deposit penalties. Lu Chen, you'll have to file for bankruptcy and liquidation!"

Seeing the crowd calm down, Wang Teng's arrogance surged again, and he loudly pronounced Lu Chen's death sentence.

David also re-emerged under the protection of his bodyguards, clutching a piece of paper, his voice regaining its arrogance.

"Wang is right. Mr. Lu, the Morgan Consortium controls the vast majority of rare catalyst mines globally. This is an industrial barrier you will never be able to cross."

David sneered repeatedly, "No matter what tricks you perform today, without materials, you are dead in the water. Only our fast-charging battery from Tengfei Electronics can deliver one hundred thousand units in stock this month."

The reporters in the audience looked at each other. Their excitement gradually cooled.

No matter how good the technology was, if it couldn't be manufactured, it was indeed meaningless.

Lu Chen tossed his goggles into the toolbox.

He turned and looked at Da Biao, who had been standing on the side like a bouncer.

"Da Biao, tell Old Zhou to drive the heavy truck fleet outside in."

Lu Chen's tone was extremely calm, not raising his voice by even half a degree.

"Park them right at the front entrance."

Da Biao grinned and pulled the walkie-talkie from his waist.

"Old Zhou, floor the gas pedal and back all the trucks into the lobby for me!"

Following Da Biao's shout, a thunderous roar of diesel engines erupted from outside the venue.

Dozens of heavy semi-trucks, lined up in a neat row, ruthlessly crushed the expensive red carpet on the welcome boulevard.

The rear of the lead truck backed directly into the shattered entrance of Hall 1.

The heavy black tarpaulin covering the cargo bed snapped in the night wind.

Wang Teng stared intently at the trucks, his eyelids twitching.

"Playing games! I bet they're just filled with bricks!" Wang Teng roared.

Lu Chen stepped forward and grabbed a corner of the tarpaulin on the truck bed.

He yanked it hard, and the massive black tarpaulin slid off.

Rows of neatly stacked cardboard boxes were revealed.

The surface of the boxes was stamped with the red wax seal used exclusively for outgoing shipments from Chenguang Electronics Factory.

"Since Mr. Wang says I can't even manufacture a single screw cap."

Lu Chen looked coldly at Wang Teng and David.

Lu Chen extended his finger and tapped on the cardboard box twice.

"Here are fifty thousand fully charged finished units in stock that I brought over today to set up a street stall."

Lu Chen's words landed like a hammer blow on the minds of everyone in the venue.
