180: Still need to fight

Northern Darkness was quite pleased, as if Han Huohuo's strength was its own strength.

chaos coins were scattered all over the ground; the small monsters dropped copper coins, and one hundred copper coins made one silver coin, and one hundred silver coins made one gold coin.

But the Moth King dropped a gold coin.

Han Huohuo went over and picked up the gold coin.

Hua Mulan and Zheng He helped pick up the remaining copper coins. The Elves didn't know what these copper coins were for, guessing they were related to these few people, so they also came to help, collecting over a thousand copper coins in total.

Everyone consciously gave them to Han Huohuo.

"Thank you!"

"You're welcome, these things are useless to us."

Jingwei stared at Han Huohuo, feeling more and more that Han Huohuo was mysterious. And that magic just now, how was it like the lost magic from Elven legends?

Something was strange?

After repelling the Moths, the Elves relaxed. They gathered around the bonfire, clearly much closer to Han Huohuo and the others, no longer as wary as before, especially after Han Huohuo's astonishing spear strike shocked them.

Someone handed a grilled fish to Han Huohuo, who unceremoniously took it and ate it in large bites. The fish meat was very tender, melting in his mouth, and tasted really good. It wasn't because of good cooking skills, but because the fish itself was of excellent quality.

Having just finished fighting, everyone was excited and couldn't sleep.

Han Huohuo still had many questions, which he could now ask.

"Has your Elf Sea always been like this?"

Jingwei was silent for a moment, then spoke: "Yes, we and the dark creatures have been fighting in this sea for thousands of years, originally evenly matched.

But a few hundred years ago, for some unknown reason, these dark creatures suddenly exploded in number, continuously emerging from Boli Reef. We Elves couldn't defeat them and were repeatedly forced to retreat. Now, most of the islands in the Elf Sea have been occupied by dark creatures."

Han Huohuo's heart stirred. A few hundred years ago? Could it be the time when the time-space shard arrived at Boli Reef?

Could it be that these dark monsters are related to the time-space shard?

But that's not right. Listening to Jingwei, these dark monsters have been around for at least a few thousand years. What's going on?

"Then do you know why these dark creatures appeared here?"

Jingwei nodded: "Of course. These dark creatures come from Chaos, so we Elves also call them Chaos Monsters. You know, there are some dark creatures on the continent, but they are actually different from Chaos Monsters."

"Chaos?"

"Yes, our ancient Elven scriptures say that Chaos is a peculiar area, not a real world, but a place where the emotions of all living beings are projected. Anger, sorrow, joy, greed, and various other emotions form a terrifying, infinite ocean, and Chaos Monsters are born within it.

Because there is no time, space, or causality in Chaos, only chaos and distortion, everything is incredible."

Han Huohuo's mouth dropped open, as if he were listening to an incomprehensible text: "Wait, you said Chaos is not born in the real world, but how did they come here? Is this not the real world?"

Han Huohuo suspected that he had arrived in the underworld.

These monsters, from the sound of it, shouldn't appear in the human world.

Jingwei hesitated for a moment, then slowly began: "This was a mistake of our ancestors. It was an accident. In ancient times, a group of Elven ancestors pursuing eternal life activated space-time magic, wanting to imprison the space-time here. They even changed their genes to adapt to a world without time and space.

But space-time magic was too difficult to control. Countless space-time overlapped here, accidentally disturbing the Chaos domain and summoning Chaos Demons from Boli Reef. Those Elven ancestors later died in battle, and in the end, they could only use their lives to seal Boli Reef.

However, some cracks still appeared between the Chaos world and here.

So, some weak Chaos has been leaking from Boli Reef, fighting us Elves until now.

Originally, we were evenly matched and could hold on, but who would have thought that a few hundred years ago, Chaos suddenly erupted, we were defeated and could only retreat little by little to the fringe areas."

Jingwei looked very disheartened.

Upon hearing this, Han Huohuo was certain that the Chaos outbreak at Boli Reef was definitely related to the time-space shard.

Because Chaos is a monster brought forth by space-time confusion.

The time-space shard must have exacerbated this confusion.

"So what are your plans now?" Han Huohuo asked Jingwei.

Jingwei's face was filled with sorrow: "We live one day at a time. Of all the Elves still alive in the entire Elf Sea, there are at most a thousand. Those who can fight number only a few hundred, scattered across different islands. Perhaps it won't be long before our race perishes."

Han Huohuo looked at Jingwei: "Your ancestors all died in battle, so how did your lineage continue?"

Jingwei said: "That's complicated. At that time, the Elves were divided into two branches, and not all Elves wanted eternal life. But the Grand Elder at the time was too strong, until a dolphin named Star resisted her, and only then did she compromise, allowing some Elves to live like normal people in this sea area.

They all died, but our branch stayed away from the fighting and has been passed down from generation to generation."

Han Huohuo gave a bitter smile. So it was Star's persistence that saved this race.

"Then do you hate those ancestors of yours who pursued eternal life?"

Jingwei remained silent. Clearly, she was dissatisfied with her ancestors' greed. Elves have long lifespans, but they still pursued eternal life, making it difficult for future generations of Elves to survive. Almost no Elf lived to their full lifespan; nearly all died in battle.

To say she didn't resent them was clearly unrealistic.

"Actually, your ancestors didn't abandon you. They might have regretted it, so they called me to help you. Do you believe that?"

Han Huohuo somewhat understood now. The space-time in the Elf Sea was a bit chaotic, often experiencing folds, which was why he could meet the ancient Elven ancestors on Midway Island.

Perhaps the time-space shard exacerbated the space-time distortion here.

Han Huohuo smiled as he looked at Jingwei.

Jingwei's eyes lit up: "I believe it!"

Han Huohuo laughed loudly: "What if I was just saying it casually, and you believe it?"

Jingwei nodded: "I believe it, because I truly feel the presence of my ancestors in you."

Han Huohuo clicked his tongue. Are Elves all that sensitive?

"Then, would you be willing to become my Hero? I can help your Elves find a place to settle down."

"I can, but it requires a hero token!"

Han Huohuo was exasperated. He had wasted half a day talking, just to save a hero token. He had discovered that the most valuable things in this world were hero tokens and city building orders, though city building orders were even more precious.

He didn't expect them to be immune to his persuasion.

Han Huohuo had no choice but to reluctantly pull out a hero token and hand it to Jingwei.

Jingwei took the hero token and bowed: "I hope the Lord can help the Elven race escape their predicament!"

Seeing Jingwei's sincerity, Han Huohuo calmly said, "Don't worry, I will build an indestructible city on this island and help the Elves reclaim their homeland."

Han Huohuo knew that relying on just a few people to venture to Boli Reef and retrieve the time-space shard was impossible. He had to adopt another extreme approach.

I am a Lord, and I have thousands of soldiers and horses. I'm not playing one-on-one with you; we're having a group fight!

So!

He took out his last city building order and built a city on Sunset Island. Well then, let the war begin!
