73: The Devil is Coming

The sounds were rhythmic, and it didn't sound like just one person, but several.

Before long, several sturdy pig-faced Barbarians, holding giant axes, walked over. They didn't notice Han Huohuo hiding behind them. They looked down the mountain through the gap.

There were only a few Savages walking around down the mountain, nothing else.

"I heard another Hero came in for the trial? These bastards always bring disaster upon us. I bet he'll ally with the Savages below. As long as the Hero dies, the trial will be over, right?"

"How annoying!"

"These Heroes probably don't know how much we hate them. If he dares to ally with us, when night falls, when the Demons appear, we'll push him off the mountain together, haha!"

Han Huohuo shivered.

This was too vicious.

These Barbarians were even more ferocious than the Savages. How could he ally with them? Would he be tricked to his death?

This damned Hero trial was full of traps from beginning to end!

After the pig-headed men returned to the platform.

Han Huohuo had drunk his water, eaten some dry food, and was well-rested. He flipped and jumped out of the hollowed-out platform and continued climbing towards the higher peaks.

He climbed for three consecutive hours, reaching the summit.

The summit was the Eagle King's nest. A giant Eagle King was perched in its nest, watching Han Huohuo with piercing eyes.

There was not a hint of goodwill in its eyes.

Han Huohuo's face was pale. Fortunately, within twenty-four hours, no creature here would actively attack him.

But seeing the look in the Giant Eagle's eyes, he had no doubt that as soon as the time was up, it would immediately grab him and throw him down.

The Giant Eagle in front of him was terrifying.

Its wingspan was over twenty meters, nearly the size of a heavy fighter jet. Its feathers were like sharp swords. The Giant Eagle didn't move because there were several eggs in its nest.

It seemed to be incubating eggs.

His timing was really unfortunate.

The Giant Eagle tilted its head left and right, carefully examining the Hero who had come to advance.

"I say, how about we form an alliance?" This Eagle King was very majestic, and Han Huohuo liked it very much just by looking at it.

Of course, the Giant Eagle couldn't speak, but its eyes showed that it understood everything: "What are you dreaming about? Ally with you? I'll bite you to death!"

The summit was about the size of a basketball court, and the Eagle King's nest occupied half of it. Han Huohuo walked to the edge of the cliff and looked down. It was so high he didn't know how he had climbed up.

In the distance, black smoke was rising from the Great Canyon as the twenty-four-hour time limit gradually approached.

Han Huohuo calculated that if Demons really came out of the canyon, they would definitely attack the Savages below first, then the Barbarians in the middle, and finally come to the summit.

He didn't know how good these Demons were at climbing mountains?

But clearly, in this world, the summit was obviously safer.

Then Han Huohuo turned back to look at this Giant Eagle. The biggest danger was this beast; it wasn't friendly at all.

He was afraid that by dusk, before he even saw the Demons, he would be killed by this Giant Eagle first, which would be too worthless.

What to do?

Han Huohuo was never a kind person. He turned his gaze to the eggs in the Giant Eagle's nest.

The Giant Eagle's feathers instantly bristled.

What did this scoundrel want to do?

"No matter how strong you are, it's best not to have a weakness, otherwise if I catch it, it's definitely not my fault."

Han Huohuo poured out all the food and water from his backpack.

Then, under the Giant Eagle's furious gaze, he walked towards the eagle's nest. The Giant Eagle spread its wings, protecting all the eggs.

But it was too big.

So Han Huohuo still managed to get through the feathers, spent a lot of effort, moved out a giant egg, and then put it into his backpack.

Mu Jiu's hands were very skillful. This backpack could just fit one egg.

He locked the backpack buckle and put it on his shoulders.

Han Huohuo stood up, facing the rampaging beast with red eyes, baring its fangs and claws, its eyes saying, "You wait until twenty-four hours are up, I will tear you to pieces!"

"We are good friends now, can we be allies?"

Han Huohuo looked affectionate and extended a friendly hand to the Giant Eagle.

How could the Giant Eagle be convinced? Its eyes were spitting fire. Fortunately, it couldn't speak human language and could only squawk. Otherwise, it would have been cursing filthily by now.

Han Huohuo found that this Giant Eagle wasn't very smart, but it really understood his words, so he decided to try and persuade it.

"If you don't hurt me, I won't damage this egg. If you hurt me, this egg won't be safe. Have you really thought about it?"

The Giant Eagle stared at him, its eyes full of hatred.

"Okay, you don't have to ally with me, but you'd better not provoke me either."

The Giant Eagle lay back in its nest, staring at Han Huohuo, protecting the remaining eggs more closely.

Seeing that this Giant Eagle was unresponsive, Han Huohuo didn't want to bother with it and hid in the shadow of a rock by the cliff edge, avoiding the sun.

The sun was too scorching, and the ultraviolet rays were strong. Han Huohuo was very worried that he would be sunburnt into an African.

The sun set.

Time was up.

【Task Phase Two: From now on, survive for twenty-four hours.】

The first twenty-four hours passed. Han Huohuo hadn't secured any allies. The Eagle King tried to attack several times, but Han Huohuo carefully protected his backpack. The Eagle King hesitated and finally didn't act impulsively.

The land began to darken.

Black smoke curled up from the Great Canyon. The wind picked up, blowing the smoke everywhere. The canyon was like a harmonica, not only spewing smoke but also making a loud wailing sound as the wind blew through it.

Chilling!

Han Huohuo had excellent eyesight. He could even see some disgusting things crawling out of the cracks. He couldn't see their specific appearance because they were covered by the black smoke.

Before long, a choking smell surged over. There was a strong smell of sulfur in the smoke, like the smell of hell.

As the sun gradually darkened, more and more monsters appeared in the Great Canyon.

Looking down the mountain, terrified Savages were forming teams, searching everywhere, chirping and shouting: "Where is that Hero hiding? Hurry and kill him! Only when he dies will these Demons return to the Great Canyon."

Damn, these guys aren't thinking about how to deal with the Demons, only how to deal with me?

This is simply outrageous!

The black smoke from the Great Canyon finally merged with the night, indistinguishable from each other. The sun had set.

An extremely cold wind blew. Han Huohuo hid at the very top of the rocky mountain. The wind was strongest here. He had been sweating from the heat just now, and in the blink of an eye, he was frozen like an ice pop.

Giant Eagles were flying everywhere in the sky!

There were many stone forests and high mountains here, and on the top of each mountain peak, there was an Eagle King's nest. However, the mountain peak he had climbed to was the highest one, and this Eagle King was the largest Eagle King here.

This Giant Eagle was the King of Eagles!

The Demons had already arrived.

Han Huohuo was surprised to find that these Demons even had flames burning on their bodies, as if they had crawled out of the underground lava.

There were many types of Demons, grotesque and hideous in appearance. Some had small wings, some had tails, and they quickly rushed into the stone forest and began fighting the Savages.

The Savages looked tall, but they were almost no match.

Before the battle even began, some timid Savages had already thrown away their weapons and turned to run.

How could they even fight like this?

These Demons were extremely fierce. They pounced on the Savages and bit off their throats directly. The Savages grabbed the Demons and tried to shake them off, but their hands were already charred by the flames on the Demons' bodies.

Monsters in flames.

No wonder there was a smell of sulfur.

There were screams of agony everywhere. In less than an hour, these Savages were completely slaughtered by the Demons.

Then they all looked up at the mountain.

There were also some Demons inside, with burly and tall figures, like half an iron tower, holding terrifying long whips in their hands. When they raised their heads, their eyes were like torches.

"Kill!"

The Whip Demon cracked its whip and roared loudly.
