251: Taking advantage of others' misfortune
The last piece of the puzzle was delivered by Mr. Bai—a map of the Northern Darkness Ice Field.
Mr. Bai suddenly arrived in Tongtian City, found Han Huohuo, and without a word, personally handed him the map.
The map in his hand was originally a highly classified secret of the Mo Family, but this matter was too significant, so Mr. Bai was entrusted by the Mo Family's high-ranking officials to specially deliver it to Han Huohuo.
Mr. Bai pointed at the map.
There was a crack marked there, deep within the Northern Darkness Ice Field.
“I heard your Mo Family has Sky City. Can you see how many Undead are on the Ice Field?” Han Huohuo asked.
“I don’t know. Our Sky City does not dare to fly over. The Undead Army contains not only Skeletons and Zombies, but also Great Liches mixed in. Their magic attacks have an extremely long range and can even shoot down our Sky City,” Mr. Bai said.
Han Huohuo sighed.
Mr. Bai added, “In short, there are extremely many, absolutely beyond your imagination. At a minimum, they are in the hundreds of millions, even billions or tens of billions.”
Han Huohuo felt something was off: “But the ones attacking Snow Wave City were all the most common Skeleton soldiers. You’re saying there are also high-level Undead?”
Mr. Bai chuckled: “Of course. Do you really think the Undead only have Tier 1 and Tier 2 troops? The Undead’s hierarchy is the same as this world’s, with even Tier 7 troops at the highest level! When you see overwhelming Bone Dragons, you’ll know how powerful they are.”
Han Huohuo’s eyelids twitched: “So, the Undead haven’t actually started their formal siege yet. They’re just testing Snow Wave City’s defenses, is that it?”
Mr. Bai nodded: “You’re not stupid. This is why the Mo Family gave you the map. We hope you can hold out longer. The Mo Family is fully activating its mechanical war machines. You must hold snow wave. Others may not care about the Undead, but our Mo Family will definitely help you.” After a pause, Mr. Bai added, “It’s not really helping you, it’s helping ourselves, helping this world.”
Mr. Bai was an honest man and did not beat around the bush, so Han Huohuo patted him on the shoulder.
Mr. Bai quickly left in his private airship.
However, Han Huohuo did not place his hopes on the Mo Family. His principle was that relying on mountains makes them crumble, and relying on seas makes them dry up; only one's own strength is reliable.
Once overwhelming Bone Dragons, coupled with Great Liches of super long range mixed with a sea of Skeletons, how could he resist?
What Han Huohuo worried about most was the number of Undead. If it truly reached the level of tens of billions as Mr. Bai said, it would be close to infinite.
Looking at the map in his hand, Han Huohuo pouted. The Mo Family was quite interesting, even marking the location of the space-time rift. Was this to make him defend the city?
Who would believe that!
This was probably to make him risk his life and die, right?
The honest man didn't seem so honest after all!
Han Huohuo summoned Jingwei and instructed the Elves to abandon all other gathering. All living resources would be provided by Tongtian City, and the Elves were to focus entirely on collecting sea willow and mithril.
Jingwei knew that the Undead invasion was a serious matter, so she quickly accepted the order and went back to make arrangements.
Returning to the Elf Sea, Jingwei summoned all the Elf Generals and said in a deep voice, “Everyone should know that the Lord has encountered great trouble. Do you still remember the Lord’s kindness in saving the Elves from danger?”
All the Generals responded in unison, “We dare not forget!”
Jingwei nodded: “We Elves are not ungrateful people. We must fully collect sea willow and mithril to support the Lord’s battle. We absolutely cannot let the Undead rule the continent!”
All the Generals agreed and then discussed how to work diligently, finally coming up with a 7718 proposal.
The number 7718 was simple: it meant seven days a week, working seven days, and working 18 hours a day.
Jingwei frowned, feeling it was not enough. Finally, all the Generals suggested that this time could allow the Elves to work for life and could be sustained. For a protracted war, this work time was sufficient; you still had to let them recover their physical strength. She thought about it and realized it made sense, so she relented.
“Am I being too lenient?” Jingwei wondered.
The Elf Sea was fully mobilized.
Han Huohuo went out again to find Ouyezi.
“Old man, immediately build five more workshops to accelerate alloy production!”
Ouyezi gasped, and cautiously asked, “Lord, if we build five more workshops, that will be six in total, costing 600,000 gold coins per day. Do you really want to do this?”
Han Huohuo sneered: “If we lose, what good is money? Even if I die, I’ll spend all the money before I do.”
Ouyezi’s face immediately flushed red. This fellow was a miser. He calculated that if he died, he definitely wouldn't be able to spend all the money, and he was instantly filled with worry.
“Go, quickly get the workshops built.”
“Yes, Lord!”
Ouyezi took the order and left.
Walking out of the workshop, a cold wind blew outside, and Han Huohuo became much clearer. Suddenly, he heard a bird's cry in the sky. He looked up and found that Northern Darkness, after thousands of failures, had finally taken flight.
Its feathers hadn't fully grown, and it didn't fly high, swaying unsteadily, but it had finally returned to the sky. Northern Darkness's cries were exceptionally joyful.
Such a strong-willed bird!
Northern Darkness flew back and forth above Han Huohuo's head, showing off to him, but Han Huohuo had something on his mind and no time to pay attention to this silly bird.
“Report! Unidentified troops have entered the Ten Thousand Mountains!”
The scout reported urgently. Since Han Xin and Hua Mulan had both gone to Snow Wave City, Han Huohuo himself had taken over the defense of Tongtian City.
“Do you know where these troops are from?”
“There are two teams: one is a small contingent from Gongsun Leopard’s faction, and the other is a small contingent from Sun Yong’s faction.”
Han Huohuo smiled extremely sinisterly.
These scoundrels knew that he had transferred Tongtian City's troops to support the Barbarian Wasteland, and they couldn't sit still, coming to probe his defenses.
These idiots had no idea how much of a threat the Undead Army posed to this world. At this time, they were still trying to stab him in the back?
Han Huohuo mused that if he showed even a hint of fear, the troubles that followed would be endless.
These warlords and feudal lords were all insatiable vampires.
He overlooked the Northwest land from the Ten Thousand Mountains, and the Northwest was also their hotly contested territory, but no one dared to make the first move.
Thinking of this, he said to Thor behind him, “Go and wipe out both of these units for me. Don’t leave a single living soul!”
Thor clasped his hands, soared into the air, and flew towards the Ten Thousand Mountains.
Northern Darkness was not convinced and wanted to chase after Thor, but it didn't fly far before being left behind. Northern Darkness was very angry and landed in front of Han Huohuo, crying out mournfully.
“Go play by yourself. I’ve been having a lot of trouble lately, be good!”
Han Huohuo stroked Northern Darkness's head, and Northern Darkness immediately calmed down, bouncing off to practice flying elsewhere.
