181: Sunset City
A brilliant light shone, and the rudimentary shape of a city was built on the coast of Sunset Island. Han Huohuo immediately constructed a Teleportation Gate.
Touching the Teleportation Gate, Han Huohuo was stunned.
This Teleportation Gate seemed to be restricted in some way; it could only lead to Wind Whisper Island and couldn't directly connect to his other cities.
He pondered, 'Is the distance too far? Or is it caused by space-time turbulence?'
Regardless, it finally connected to the outside world.
Han Huohuo had already understood the situation, which was why he dared to build the city now. Otherwise, he would have worried that the newly built city might be directly flattened by those dark creatures.
This place was quite far from the larger island, and only dark creatures like Moths could cross the sea, so they shouldn't pose much of a threat.
The next morning, an endless stream of resources and troops were transported from Wind Whisper City. Mu Jiu also arrived here, and after listening to Han Huohuo recount his adventure, her small face turned pale with lingering fear.
Northern Darkness nudged Mu Jiu with his head, whimpering to show how pitiful he was. Mu Jiu found it both amusing and heartbreaking, and she stroked Northern Darkness's head to comfort him.
The journey had been truly perilous.
First, a dock was built, then a large number of warships were transferred from Wind Whisper City, with countless aircraft and Floating Turret deployed on the ships.
Jiang Xiaowen was also invited to help build more than a dozen Thunder God Turrets.
This island was much smaller than Wind Whisper Island, and a dozen Thunder God Turrets were enough to cover the entire island's defense.
The Elves watched in shock as their desolate island transformed overnight, as if by magic. Countless mechanical workers were continuously building it into an invincible fortress.
They had never encountered the power of modernization before.
After a brief moment of daze, Jingwei quickly dispatched ships to pick up all the scattered Elves from the surrounding islands and bring them to Sunset Island. The Thunder God Turrets no longer needed external support, because Druids were the top-tier Tier 4 magical ranged units, far more powerful than Nuns.
With the arrival of a large number of Elves, residential buildings and a Generals Residence were also constructed. However, this time Mu Jiu did not participate in the design, leaving it entirely to the Elves.
The Elves' aesthetic sense was absolutely first-rate, and their style was different from humans'. Their architectural designs were closer to nature, making the entire city appear to be built within a forest, lush and green.
Only then did Han Huohuo have time to check Jingwei's attributes.
Hero: Jingwei, Elf Grand Elder, First Rebirth Hero
Level: 30
Attributes: Strength 5, Defense 5, Stamina 25, Intelligence 80.
Exclusive Skills: Blessing, Super City Building (S).
General Skills: Intermediate Wisdom, Intermediate Leadership, Intermediate Navigation, Intermediate Water Magic, Elementary Intelligence, Intermediate Archery.
Loyalty: 50
Blessing: Blessing a ship or creature can help it avoid tracking by Star Beasts. Blessing also increases the attack of all Elf troops by 50%.
Super City Building: Increases city construction speed by 300%, and reduces resources needed for construction by 50%, excluding Wonders.
This was a First Rebirth Hero, not low-leveled, and a Hero with both combat and internal affairs attributes.
Han Huohuo directly appointed Jingwei as the City Lord of Sunset City and stipulated that, apart from Elves, people of other races could not freely settle here without Jingwei's permission.
Jingwei was very grateful.
Loyalty immediately increased by five points.
This city was a sanctuary for all surviving Elves, so naturally, it couldn't be occupied by other races.
After all, Sunset Island had limited space.
After a full day of busy work, by the time night fell, the entire city was brightly lit. Although it still looked like a large construction site, the defensive system had already taken preliminary shape.
Moths flew in as expected.
However, before they could even approach the coast, this swarm of Moths was intercepted by the warships and did not even enter the city's defensive perimeter.
For the first time, the Elves experienced a peaceful night. That night, there were warm hearths, fragrant food, and children could sleep soundly without the intrusion of darkness.
A legend began to circulate among the Elves: Han Huohuo was the savior brought by their ancestors.
Han Huohuo did not sleep; he discussed naval warfare with Zheng He and Jingwei.
“How do we reclaim islands that have been invaded by dark creatures?”
“Use fire to burn all corrupted plants, kill all creatures, and purify the land with the Druids' Purification spell. The island will slowly recover.”
“Purify?”
“Yes, that's a special skill of the Druids; they can dispel the power of Chaos.”
Han Huohuo glanced at the Druid's attributes in the system and found that this Elf magical unit, though only Tier 4, was very strong.
Elf Druid: 100 Wood, 100 Food, 50 Gold, Tier 4.
Combat Power: Strength 5, Defense 12, Stamina 12, Intelligence 40.
Special Skills: Magic Missile, offensive single-target spell, power equals Intelligence. Purification, can dispel the power of Chaos.
Loyalty: 90.
This unit is very strong! Han Huohuo was surprised that the Elf army seemed particularly powerful, so he also checked the Elf Archer's attributes.
Elf Archer: 50 Wood, 100 Food, 30 Gold, Tier 3.
Combat Power: Strength 25, Defense 8, Stamina 10, Intelligence 10.
Special Skills: Multishot, fires two arrows per shot. Eagle Eye, doubles range.
Loyalty: 90.
Goodness, although they are Tier 3 units, their output capability is no worse than Druids; only their defense and health are slightly inferior.
Elf Archers should be the ceiling for Tier 3 units!
Having seen many things, this was the first time Han Huohuo had encountered such a powerful unit.
Of course, they couldn't be compared to his cheating Mechanical Legion, which had become somewhat overpowered after the mythical bonus.
Han Huohuo did not yet know how much help these Elf units would bring him in the future.
The Wheel of Fortune was guiding him towards a future full of variables.
Knowing how to purify the land, Han Huohuo had a plan in mind. He then had another question: “What if the dark Moths invade again?”
Jingwei replied, “Then we can only defend the island and prevent them from invading again. When there were more of us Elves, we repeatedly fought with Chaos for the islands. Unfortunately, later, our Elves became fewer and fewer, and Chaos grew more and more...”
“Let me ask one more question, how many islands are there in the Elf Sea?”
“Counting both large and small, there are about a thousand.”
Han Huohuo fell silent. Occupy an island, then defend it? How much military strength would that require? That's not realistic.
Zheng He looked at Han Huohuo.
Han Huohuo clenched his fist and slammed it on the table: “We only have one way: assault Boli Reef, find a way to obtain the time-space shard, reduce the degree of space-time distortion here, decrease the number of Chaos creatures, then let the Elves develop themselves, steadily and surely. The Tongtian City navy will provide support, and finally, we will slowly reclaim every island!”
