278: Interstellar Insect Plague
The Barbarians recognized the young General at the forefront; it was none other than the young General, Lonely Star, whom humanity feared!
Thousands of Barbarians had their internal organs shattered by the seismic waves and died on the spot.
The cavalry and Behemoths collided fiercely. With the magic amplification from Han Huohuo, the eight hundred cavalry even surpassed the Behemoths.
However, the Behemoths' attacks ignored melee defense, and their power remained immense.
Both sides instantly became a bloody mess.
Blizzard!
Han Huohuo unleashed another large-scale magic. Ice and snow rained down on the Barbarians, and ice shards, like arrows, once again killed countless Barbarians.
Under the royal banner in the distance was the Barbarian King. The Barbarian King looked at General Lonely Star, who seemed like a god of slaughter descended, and his legs trembled with fear.
How did this god of slaughter find his Royal City?
The Barbarians, fearless of death, charged towards Han Huohuo.
Wielding his spear and casting magic, Han Huohuo transformed into a terrifying demon god, endlessly reaping lives.
This great battle lasted for three days.
This was the most perilous war Han Huohuo had ever experienced because he led the charge and fought at the very front.
Even with his high stats, he was already covered in wounds.
Without any treasures, there was naturally no Holy Blood Potion.
Blood flowed profusely from his body, and his clothes were tattered.
Han Huohuo finally reached the Barbarian King, piercing his body with a spear and lifting the Barbarian King's corpse on the spear, roaring to all directions.
The human main force had already arrived at the battlefield and stopped before the large city. Everyone fell silent. The Marshal, riding on his horse, saw no city, only a desolate Wasteland, covered in corpses. The cavalry were all dead, the Barbarians were all dead, the Behemoths were all dead—everyone was dead. Only Lonely Star stood in the center of the battlefield, the Barbarian King impaled on his spear.
The setting sun shone on Han Huohuo. The spear, stained with the Barbarian King's blood, gradually turned black. This spear, called Lonely Star, was becoming less and less like the Spear of Destiny. As it absorbed countless amounts of blood, it grew darker and darker.
Regardless, the mission was completed.
Han Huohuo even felt that if he continued this mission, he might truly turn into a devil. Holding the Lonely Star Spear, his bloodthirsty nature was almost completely unleashed.
It's over, right?
With a clap of thunder, a sudden storm raged across the Wasteland. Everyone was terrified. After the dazzling lightning disappeared, they realized that Lonely Star was gone!
He was teleported once again.
Han Huohuo felt as if he had dreamt for tens of thousands of years in an instant.
He suddenly awoke. When he woke up again, he found himself wearing a comfortable spacesuit, lying on a high-tech bed. Looking up, he saw a virtual screen.
He looked down at his hands. This time, Lonely Star was not in his grasp.
But the question was, where was this?
He got out of bed, walked to the window, and looked out, seeing the vast universe. A massive fleet was sailing through space, and huge stars flew past the fleet.
Han Huohuo was stunned. He had been teleported directly into a future interstellar fleet.
Is this mission really that exciting?
As he stood there, bewildered, a nimble robot ran up behind him and shouted, “Comrade Lonely Star, Dr. Mu is looking for you. Please come with me quickly.”
“Dr. Mu? Alright, lead the way!”
The robot led the way, bouncing like a child leaving school. Han Huohuo followed behind, looking around. Everywhere were advanced metal corridors, gleaming brightly. This spaceship was far more advanced than he had imagined.
They eventually reached a laboratory.
A female scientist sat in a large chair in the laboratory, watching a holographic image. Han Huohuo recognized it at a glance: it was the Lonely Star Spear!
The female scientist was meticulously observing the image of this strange spear. The overlapping scenes of slaughter were being restored by technology that Han Huohuo completely didn't understand, and materialized in an accelerator. The female scientist saw that the number of people killed by this spear was countless.
The scientist was amazed. This was a demonic spear. According to the image restoration, it had evolved seven times, and each evolution had killed countless people and various strange life forms. It was too terrifying. Even in the interstellar world, this spear was an unsolved mystery.
“Doctor, you called for me?”
The female scientist turned around, saw Han Huohuo, and smiled, “Lonely Star, I’m so happy to see you awake. It’s really strange, it seems this spear only resonates with you. Try to retrieve it!”
Han Huohuo looked at the illusory image in surprise. Was this a real spear? Why did it look like a 3D projection?
But there must be a reason for the female scientist to say so. Han Huohuo extended his hand, thinking of the spear in his mind. The illusory spear shadow suddenly trembled, and then the phantom of the spear instantly appeared in Han Huohuo's palm.
Han Huohuo silently chanted, “Become solid!”
Strangely enough, this originally illusory spear gradually materialized, appearing in Han Huohuo's hand.
Han Huohuo was incredibly shocked.
Could this spear be connected to his mind?
“Smaller, a little smaller!”
Han Huohuo, feeling childlike, began to command the spear to shrink. In a moment, the spear became almost invisible. Han Huohuo put the spear into his ear, and it fit perfectly.
This feeling was very familiar.
It was exactly the same as when he first retrieved the Spear of Destiny, but now Lonely Star looked very different from the Spear of Destiny. It was entirely black, deep and terrifying, completely lacking the luminous aura of the Spear of Destiny.
The female scientist was very surprised: “You made it disappear?”
Han Huohuo explained: “No, it just got smaller.”
The female scientist's mouth widened: “Then… can you make it bigger?”
Han Huohuo took the spear out of his ear and shouted, “Bigger, bigger, even bigger…”
The spear gradually grew, becoming over ten meters long in a short while and continuing to grow. Han Huohuo was a little curious, how long could this spear get?
“Stop, stop it quickly, you're going to destroy my lab!” the female scientist shrieked.
Han Huohuo had no choice but to restore the spear to its original size and hold it in his hand. An incredibly familiar feeling came from his palm.
“Let’s go, I’ll take you to see Dr. Mu.”
“Dr. Mu?”
“Yes, he is our chief scientist. He discovered this spear at the edge of a black hole. He says this spear has terrifying energy and might be able to change the fate of humanity.”
“Black hole? What's going on again?”
The more the female scientist spoke, the more outlandish it became, leaving Han Huohuo utterly confused.
“Ah, you really are something, always just fighting, never knowing these things. Those damned Zerg came out of the black hole, and humanity is almost destroyed by the Zerg.
It’s really strange to say, we used to think black holes only absorbed things, who knew they could also spew things out, and even spit out such terrifying space creatures? It's simply a disaster for humanity.
