192: Highway Car Accident (Part 2)
The blast wave from the car explosion knocked Lin Zifeng and the other two to the ground, and the young man passed out once again.
Lin Zifeng shook his head, stood up, and stretched his body to make sure he wasn't injured. The two young women and a few drivers ran over, lifted the young man, and walked toward the back.
Lin Zifeng followed them. One of the women walked beside him and said with a grateful expression, "Sir, thank you for saving our lives."
"If it weren't for you today, none of the four of us would have survived."
"You are our savior, and we will surely repay you handsomely in the future. I am Li Yanran from the capital. May I ask your name?"
"You don't have to do that. As the saying goes, saving a life is better than building a seven-story pagoda. It's enough that you all are fine."
"The ambulance and the Expressway police are here, so hurry up and get your injuries treated! There's no need to keep this matter in your hearts."
After saying this, Lin Zifeng walked quickly toward the front.
The woman called out from behind, "Your hand is injured too. Why don't you come to the hospital with us?"
Lin Zifeng didn't even look back. He raised his hand and waved it in the air, saying, "There's no need for that. It's just a scratch; I have bandages in my car."
At this moment, the 120 emergency personnel had already placed the two unconscious men on stretchers and loaded them into the ambulance, urging the two women to board quickly.
Feeling somewhat helpless, Li Yanran took a deep look at Lin Zifeng's back, etched his appearance into her memory, and then reluctantly got into the ambulance.
Many drivers gave Lin Zifeng a thumbs up. He smiled and nodded in response before getting into his own car.
Lin Zifeng washed his hands clean with mineral water, took some iodine from his first-aid kit to disinfect the wound, applied a bandage, and waited patiently in his car.
After the ambulance left, rescue vehicles cleared away the wreckage of the burnt-out car, and under the direction of the Expressway police, traffic slowly began to resume.
Lin Zifeng continued driving toward Yushu County, treating what had just happened as a minor interlude.
Having saved four lives in a row, he simply considered it a good deed and felt very happy inside.
Because of this delay, he didn't arrive at his Residential Community in Yushu County until nearly eight o'clock, even though he would have arrived in the evening.
Back home, he cooked himself a bowl of noodles. After a simple dinner, he showered and went to bed, intending to get enough rest for work the next day.
But just then, his phone rang.
Seeing that it was a call from Chen Yuxi, he smiled and answered.
"Zifeng, you're home, right? I just saw the news. There was a car accident on the Expressway less than 100 kilometers from the provincial capital, and a high-end SUV was burnt to a wreck."
"Fortunately, the four people in the car were not in life-threatening danger; someone risked their life to save them."
"You didn't encounter this accident, did you?"
There was a hint of worry in Chen Yuxi's voice.
"I did, and because of it, I was stuck on the Expressway for over two hours! I just got home less than an hour ago, and I had just finished showering and was getting ready for bed."
To keep Chen Yuxi from worrying, he didn't mention the fact that he had saved anyone.
"That's good. Zifeng, in the future, if it's not necessary, please don't drive to the provincial capital yourself. It's too unsafe."
"After we get married, wherever you are, I will be there too, staying by your side forever."
Chen Yuxi expressed her feelings directly, which touched Lin Zifeng deeply.
The two chatted on the phone for over half an hour before hanging up.
Lin Zifeng went to sleep afterwards. What he didn't know was that at that moment, in the best hospital in the provincial capital, the two men and two women involved in the accident were all in the largest high-end ward.
The superficial wounds on the two women's foreheads had already been treated, and they were both fine, sitting on the sofa in the high-end ward, still terrified by what had happened.
Li Yanran said worriedly, "Sister Rulin, didn't the doctor say just now that Xiao Liang and Brother Qiang were fine?"
"They only suffered mild concussions and were knocked unconscious. They should have woken up a long time ago. Why haven't they woken up yet?"
"Yanran, don't worry. The doctor just now was a chief physician."
"He said they were fine, so they should be fine!"
Although Zhao Rulin was also a bit worried, she still spoke up to comfort her.
Just then, the door was pushed open from the outside, and two noblewomen approaching their fifties walked in, accompanied by two men in their thirties.
Seeing the four people enter, Li Yanran and Zhao Rulin hurriedly stood up and called out in unison, "Mom."
Li Yanran was calling her biological mother, while for Zhao Rulin, the "Mom" was her mother-in-law.
"Yanran, Rulin, are you alright? How are your younger brother and cousin doing?"
"Seeing the news report scared your aunt and me to death."
Li's mother, Yu Meili, nervously held Li Yanran's shoulders and asked with a tense expression.
And Li Yanran's aunt, Li Shuhua, quickly went to the hospital bed. She grabbed Yang Zhongqiang's hand with one hand and Li Dongliang's hand with the other, shaking them while crying out, "Son, Xiao Liang, what's wrong with you? Where are you hurt?"
With this shaking, Yang Zhongqiang and Li Dongliang both woke up.
"Mom, I'm fine. I don't have any injuries; I'm just a little dizzy."
Yang Zhongqiang spoke first, and then Li Dongliang asked, "Mom, Aunt, how come you are here?"
Yu Meili approached Li Dongliang and said, "Son, seeing the news report almost scared us to death."
"Your Father and your uncle are busy with official business. They only didn't come with us because they knew you weren't in life-threatening danger."
"Your cousin's Range Rover has already burnt to nothing, yet you only suffered minor injuries. It's simply a miracle; thank God."
"Mom, this isn't a miracle. Someone created a miracle; otherwise, you wouldn't be seeing us."
Li Yanran said with lingering fear.
"Yanran, what exactly happened? Tell us quickly."
Yu Meili asked hurriedly.
"Aunt, this is what happened." Zhao Rulin recounted the sequence of events, and Li Yanran added details.
Finally, Li Yanran added, "At the most critical moment, a young man stepped in and saved us."
"Otherwise, the four of us would have perished in the fire."
"When I was being rescued, I was conscious for a moment. A strong arm carried me away quickly, and then the vehicle exploded, which is when I passed out again."
"It was truly dangerous at the time."
Li Dongliang said with lingering fear.
"I passed out as soon as the accident happened, so I didn't know what was going on. So, it was that dangerous?"
"It seems we survived a great disaster! We must properly thank our savior!"
Yang Zhongqiang said with a look of relief.
