430: The embodiment of power

Hearing Lin Zifeng announce the start of the meeting, the four of them opened their notebooks, ready to listen to his instructions.

Lin Zifeng began, “As you all know, the Yushu City Film and Television City investment project officially commenced construction a few days ago.

As the name suggests, the primary purpose of the Film and Television City is to develop and construct facilities for filming. Of course, it will also become a scenic spot for tourists to visit and enjoy.

But its main purpose is still for filming.

In that case, once the Film and Television City is built and attracts enough film crews, there will be a need for many local extras and featured actors. This new industry is bound to rise rapidly.

Since we can foresee this now, why not seize the initiative and do some preparatory work in this area?

In the long run, it's even possible that some celebrities could emerge from our local community.”

Hearing the topic of Lin Zifeng's special meeting, the four nodded thoughtfully. Mayor Qin tentatively asked, “Secretary, do you mean to establish an Art Performance Department in advance? And you called Principal Xu to this meeting because you want to open an Art Performance Department at the Vocational Technical School?”

Upon hearing Qin Xiao's analysis, Xu Yujun, the principal of the Vocational Technical School, was delighted and looked at Lin Zifeng with shining eyes.

As a principal, he had a very clear understanding of Yushu City's current development. If the Film and Television City were built in the future and truly attracted many film crews, then their Vocational Technical School opening an Art Performance Department would definitely become very popular.

Their Vocational Technical School, by seizing this opportunity, would definitely be at the forefront of development, increasing its reputation and status, as well as its economic income.

It certainly wouldn't be like now, with nearly half of the classrooms and teaching materials idle, which is why Xu Yujun was so eager.

Hearing Qin Xiao's guess, Lin Zifeng smiled and nodded, then said again, “This is an opportunity for our Vocational Technical School, and it also provides a learning opportunity for our local residents who love performing.

Our government should vigorously promote such a win-win good thing.”

Having received a positive reply, Xu Yujun was overjoyed and couldn't help but say excitedly, “I wholeheartedly approve of the promotion of this work. Secretary, you are far-sighted. On behalf of all the faculty and staff, I guarantee 100% implementation of the Secretary's instructions.”

Qin Xiao then chimed in, “The Secretary's instructions are very timely and necessary. Promoting this work now will allow us to seize the initiative.

Which young person doesn't have a dream of becoming a star? Moreover, the people of Yushu City have a natural advantage!

Even if they can't become stars, being an extra can still increase household income. If they get promoted from an extra to a featured actor, they'll earn even more. Learning art performance will also increase their success rate in getting promoted from an extra to a featured actor.

Adding an Art Performance Department to the Vocational Technical School definitely has great prospects.”

Next, Lan Guilin, the Director of the Education Bureau, and Yang Ke, the Director of the Culture Bureau, expressed their optimism and support for this work.

After everyone had expressed their opinions, Lin Zifeng spoke again, “For this work, I will only provide a general idea. The specific tasks will have to be completed by you.

Now I announce the formation of a working group for this task, with Mayor Qin as the group leader, fully responsible for this work.

Director Lan Guilin of the Education Bureau, Director Yang Ke of the Culture Bureau, and Principal Xu Yujun of the Vocational Technical School will serve as deputy leaders. The members of the working group will be selected by your working group from your respective departments!

I only want results. This work must be completed before the start of the next semester.”

Hearing Lin Zifeng's appointments, everyone was very happy, especially Mayor Qin. As the main person in charge of this work, it was almost like being handed political achievements for free.

Because this work had no major difficulties or challenges, and with Lin Zifeng's support, funding and personnel transfers were not an issue.

So, Qin Xiao quickly stated, “Please rest assured, Secretary. I will definitely live up to your trust and complete this task 100%.”

The other three also expressed their commitment, unanimously stating that they would obey Qin Xiao's leadership, assist Qin Yao wholeheartedly, and complete the tasks assigned by Lin Zifeng with high quality, not failing Lin Zifeng's trust and regard.

Lin Zifeng nodded with satisfaction, stood up, and said, “Mayor Qin, I'll leave this to you now. Take this opportunity to hold your first leadership group meeting!”

Qin Xiao agreed and stood up with the other three. They escorted Lin Zifeng and Wang Zhongyu outside the Office, and after the two disappeared down the stairwell, the four returned to the Small Conference Room to continue their meeting.

Lin Zifeng returned to his Office, sat behind his desk, and couldn't help but think with emotion, it seems the higher the position, the simpler some tasks become!

Just like today, he provided an idea and a general plan, and others would carry out the specific operations and execution.

Later, at a higher level, his instructions could be perfectly conveyed through his Secretary, and sometimes a few words could lead to an important decision.

This is the embodiment of power.

Now that he held such power, he must use it in the right direction!

He must not make irrational decisions on impulse. He must be extremely cautious in using the power granted by the people.

Everything must be based on the interests of the public, and the misuse of public power for private gain must be avoided. He must always be vigilant, as some things often happen when one is complacent, slowly becoming a habit. He must constantly sound the alarm in his mind.

Just as Lin Zifeng was doing his self-reflection, his phone rang.

Seeing that it was Li Dongliang calling, he casually pressed the answer button.

“Hello, Xiao Liang.”

“Brother Lin, I hope I didn't interrupt your work? If you're busy now, I'll wait until you're done to call me back.”

Li Dongliang's voice came through the receiver.

“Xiao Liang, when did you become so formal with me? This isn't like you!

I'm not busy now, so just tell me what's up!”

“Brother Lin, do you think I want to be like this? My sister said you're busy with work, and that I should be mindful when calling you, not to disturb your work.

You know my sister, right? If I don't do as she says, wouldn't she scold me?”

Hearing his cheap brother-in-law's aggrieved complaint, Lin Zifeng found it amusing. He couldn't help but think, Li Dongliang, this fearless young master from the Beijing circle, acts like a mouse seeing a cat in front of his sister. Is this what they call 'bloodline suppression'?

Thinking of this, he smiled and said, “Your sister managing you is for your own good. Others would want her to manage them, but she'd be too lazy to bother!”

“Why do you and my sister speak with one voice! Your tones are almost the same. Well, thank her for my own good.”
