225: I am an honest person

"With so many things, what's the best way to sell them off?"

After moving all the toys into the guest bedroom, Ye Su looked at the items in the room and felt a bit troubled.

Besides a pile of Lego toys, the room also contained a box of old books left over from this period, a peach wood cabinet from the end of the Republic of China era, and two Qing Dynasty beech wood stools.

These were basically miscellaneous items; even if he listed them on secondhand platforms or posted them in those secondhand groups on his phone...

Ye Su couldn't possibly run over to make a transaction every time someone wanted to buy an item worth a thousand or so yuan.

As the pile of items grew, Ye Su gradually realized that having a Secondhand Shop to handle these miscellaneous items was indeed very necessary.

He just needed to open a Secondhand Shop and hire someone to look after it.

In the future, whenever there were old items or miscellaneous goods, he could just pile them into the shop, and if anyone wanted to buy them, he'd just tell them to go to the shop.

Anyway, it was a zero-cost business; whatever he sold was pure profit, which would definitely be enough to cover the rent, utilities, and staff wages.

"Let's wait until the rest of the Lego sets are redeemed before deciding."

Among the sixty boxes of Lego redeemed this afternoon, he hadn't managed to collect the three major series that carried a premium.

Ye Su planned to wait until all the prizes were redeemed, then see if he could bundle the three major series separately to sell them; that way, he wouldn't have to go through the trouble of selling them box by box.

If that didn't work, he would just have to wait until he had the chance to open a shop in the future and put everything there for sale.

After taking stock of the items in the room and conveniently collecting the 7,324 yuan that the Working Cat had rolled for today, Ye Su left the secret base and returned home to rest.

...

"Hey, I found you a part-time job as an accountant for a studio."

At nine o'clock in the evening, after eating dinner and taking a shower, the two were curled up on the sofa, planning to pick a movie to watch together, when Ye Su finally brought up the part-time job to Chen Xinyi.

"A part-time job?" Chen Xinyi was puzzled. "Why are you finding me a part-time job out of the blue? Do you want me to earn money to support you?"

"No matter how down-and-out I am, I wouldn't sink to the point of needing you to support me." Ye Su gave Chen Xinyi an annoyed glance.

"That studio is one I started in partnership with a few others. We plan to use it to manage a small game, and right now we're just missing a financial person to help handle some of the initial tax-related matters."

Upon hearing this, Chen Xinyi instantly perked up. "You started a studio with other people?"

"Yes."

Ye Su briefly explained to Chen Xinyi about his investment in Firing at Spectres and how he had taken the initiative to propose establishing the studio.

"Although I own forty percent of the shares, the three of them are clearly in cahoots, and their relationship is definitely much more solid than their relationship with me. So, I need to keep the financial aspect in my own hands to feel at ease."

After listening to Ye Su's explanation, Chen Xinyi felt a sweet sensation in her heart.

The meaning behind Ye Su's words was very clear: he could only feel at ease if the studio's finances were handled by her.

Doesn't this mean he trusts her one hundred percent?

Chen Xinyi was delighted in her heart, but her mouth remained as tsundere as always. "A part-time job is fine, but is there a salary?"

"Not for now." Ye Su shook his head.

"The studio only started registration today, and the game won't launch until the end of next month at the earliest. There's no income during this period, so just consider it helping out as a volunteer."

"Once the game launches later and the studio starts having income, we can draw a salary for you from the books."

"So that means I'm working for free for you in the early stages." Chen Xinyi let out a wail.

"I have to go to work during the day, accompany you to sleep at night, and now I have to do volunteer work for you too. Boss Ye, you can't squeeze people like this!"

Ye Su certainly knew that Chen Xinyi was just joking and wasn't actually fussing over a bit of part-time salary, so he played along with her act, reached over, and pulled her into his arms.

"Oh, come on, we're so close, why be so calculative? Besides, I put in so much effort last night—isn't that enough to cover your salary?"

"Uh... I guess it's barely enough..."

Chen Xinyi just wanted to say that it wasn't just enough; it was more than enough!

Last night he went the full distance, wearing her out, and today her period arrived right on schedule.

At work, Chen Xinyi felt a wave of soreness in her back and pain, almost wanting to ask for leave to come back and rest.

"Barely?" Ye Su raised an eyebrow. "Don't force it. If you feel it's not enough, I'll put in more effort tonight to make sure your salary is fully compensated."

"You still want to put in more effort?" Chen Xinyi smiled but didn't smile, spreading her hands and leaving herself wide open. "Go tell that to my period."

"Ah? Oh!" After being stunned for less than a second, Ye Su reacted with a bitter expression.

"Why is it here again! What am I supposed to do tonight!"

"I don't know about that." Chen Xinyi teased. "Why don't you go find another part-time job to cover my shift for these few days?"

"Hmm—" Upon hearing this, Ye Su nodded in agreement. "That is one way."

"Hmm!" Chen Xinyi's eyes narrowed instantly, and she elbowed Ye Su. "You actually have that thought?"

"Ow!" Ye Su winced in pain, looking aggrieved. "Wasn't I just completely respecting your opinion?"

"Oh? Now you know how to respect my opinion? I never see you respecting my opinion like this usually!"

"No way, I respect your opinion very much usually, okay!" Ye Su protested his innocence. "Just tell me, which time you asked me to use force did I not use force!"

"Go to hell!" Chen Xinyi was both shy and angry, pinching Ye Su hard on the waist, making him wince in pain.

"Something's not right." After pulling away from Ye Su's embrace, Chen Xinyi scrutinized him.

"Out of the blue, you suddenly want to invest in a small game and partner with people to open a studio. You wouldn't happen to be trying to pick up an alumna, would you?"

"Nonsense, how could I be that kind of person!"

"Then tell me, are there any girls in the studio?"

"Hmm... There is one."

"See." Chen Xinyi wore an [I knew it] expression. "And you say it's not to pick up girls!"

"I only met that girl for the first time today, and she's the petite type, wearing big black-rimmed glasses, and she's not even 1.6 meters tall—a loli type."

"You know what kind of person I am; I have zero interest in those loli types. I still prefer an old woman like you."

"Old woman?"

Hearing these three words, a faint smile appeared on Chen Xinyi's face, but the veins on her arm bulged.

The air conditioner in the living room was set to only 26 degrees, but at this moment, Ye Su felt the temperature instantly drop to winter, and an invisible killing intent rushed toward him.

At this critical moment, Ye Su didn't hesitate at all and instantly knelt:

"What old woman? Who said old woman? Clearly, you are a gentle, kind, beautiful, generous, virtuous, dignified, busty, slim-waisted, long-legged, super invincible, peerless beauty, okay!"

After Ye Su finished his stream of flattery, the veins on Chen Xinyi's arm subsided, and she asked with a smile, "Really?"

"Guaranteed real!" Crisis averted, Ye Su secretly let out a sigh of relief and immediately responded, "I'm an honest man; I don't lie, okay!"

After saying this, Ye Su silently added in his heart: Except for this sentence.
