492: Searching for meteorites

"How can that be the same? The things you gifted were bought with money, but this 150,000 from the scratch-off lottery ticket was won; it's your luck."

After lecturing Ye Su a couple of times, Su Wan was no longer as agitated as before and handed the scratch-off lottery ticket back to Ye Su:

"Remember to keep this scratch-off lottery ticket safe. Don't let it get torn anywhere, or you won't be able to redeem the prize later."

"Why give it to me?" Ye Su pushed the scratch-off lottery ticket back:

"You keep it. When you have time, ask Dad to drive you to the city's Sports Lottery Management Center to redeem the prize."

The reason Ye Su scratched the ticket in front of Su Wan was so he could naturally gift her the 150,000.

"Why give it to me!" Su Wan hurriedly refused:

"I can't spend that much money, and besides, the factory you and your dad have, along with your brother's online shop, are doing quite well. The family isn't short on money, so you should keep this 150,000 for yourself."

"It's fine, I have money on me. Just take this scratch-off lottery ticket."

"You've already brought us so many things since you came back this time; it adds up to millions. You should just keep this scratch-off lottery ticket."

No matter how Ye Su tried to persuade her, Su Wan refused to accept the scratch-off lottery ticket.

Seeing that he couldn't win against Su Wan, Ye Su had to compromise: "Then I'll transfer the money to you, and I'll go redeem the scratch-off lottery ticket later."

Fortunately, transfers don't require the recipient's consent. Ye Su ignored her protests and transferred 150,000 directly to her card.

Seeing the bank's text message confirming the transfer, Su Wan felt both helpless and gratified.

After marrying Ye Jianguo, she became a housewife, dealing mostly with pots and pans in her daily life, and hadn't achieved much in her life.

Fortunately, she had given birth to the three siblings, including Ye Xin, and all three were very filial to them. Su Wan considered this her greatest achievement.

Of course, like other traditional parents, Su Wan also felt that once the three siblings were married and had children, her task would be complete.

After transferring the money, Ye Su took the opportunity to say: "Today's luck is so good, buying a scratch-off lottery ticket and winning 150,000. How about I drive you to the Banyan Tree Nunnery to pay your respects, and we can breathe some fresh air while we're at it..."

"Go to the Banyan Tree Nunnery..."

Su Wan thought for a moment and felt that since so many good things had happened to the family over the past few months, they really should go to the nunnery to pay their respects and thank the deities for their blessings, so she agreed:

"Alright, it just so happens I haven't been there in a long time."

"Great, then I'll finish scratching these remaining scratch-off lottery tickets, and then I'll go with you."

"Mm."

Knowing that there were no major prizes left in the remaining scratch-off lottery tickets, Ye Su's movements were noticeably faster than before.

With a flick of his hand and the scraper, in no time at all, Ye Su scratched off all eight scratch-off lottery tickets.

There were no surprises; out of the eight scratch-off lottery tickets, only three were winners, totaling 170 yuan.

Excluding the scratch-off lottery ticket with the 150,000 grand prize, the 600 yuan worth of tickets recouped 320 yuan, a winning rate of over 50%.

For normal scratch-off lottery tickets, such a winning rate is actually considered quite good.

After putting the winning scratch-off lottery tickets away in the room, Su Wan had already prepared the incense and paper money needed for the Banyan Tree Nunnery, so Ye Su drove Su Wan straight to Rongshu Mountain.

Except for major holidays like the Lunar New Year and National Day, when many people drive back from outside, occasionally causing traffic jams, traffic congestion in Yang County is rare.

Now, being Monday morning, just before ten o'clock, it was an awkward time, so naturally, there wouldn't be any traffic jams.

He didn't drive too fast. Just after ten o'clock, Ye Su's car was already parked at the foot of Rongshu Mountain. With one hand helping Su Wan carry things and the other holding a sun umbrella, they walked up the mountain along the paved stone steps.

Ye Su still remembered that when he was a child, the path up Rongshu Mountain was just dirt steps leveled with a hoe.

Later, it was the Shenli Group that provided the funding to pave the dirt steps with stone, making it convenient for everyone to hike, visit the Banyan Tree Nunnery to burn incense, and for the teachers in the nunnery to occasionally go down the mountain.

From the foot of the mountain to the Banyan Tree Nunnery halfway up, there were only about a hundred steps in total, equivalent to the height of seven or eight floors.

To accommodate Su Wan's stamina, Ye Su climbed slowly, and it took less than ten minutes to reach the platform outside the main gate of the Banyan Tree Nunnery, where a large pine tree was planted.

Unlike large temples, the Banyan Tree Nunnery was just a flat area cleared out halfway up the mountain, with the main hall, dining hall, and side rooms built there.

The total area of the entire Banyan Tree Nunnery was estimated to be around two hundred square meters.

Upon reaching the platform, Ye Su had already locked onto the light emitted by the meteorite; it was on the other side of the Banyan Tree Nunnery, in a stretch of wild mountain that had only been simply cleared.

"Mom, you go in and burn incense first. I'm going to climb a bit higher and will come back to pick you up later."

"Alright, go ahead. The sun is out now, so take the umbrella with you."

"No need, soaking up some sun is like getting a calcium boost."

When dropping Su Wan off at the nunnery, Ye Su glanced into the main hall and noticed six or seven pilgrims scattered about, all middle-aged women around Su Wan's age.

Not finding the target person emitting a bright blue light, Ye Su left the nunnery and began searching for the 12 million worth meteorite, following the direction guided by the system's light.

"I hope that meteorite won't be too hard to find."

The level-eight intelligence mentioned that around 10:30, Wu Lianfang would faint inside the Banyan Tree Nunnery, and if not sent to the hospital in time, it would induce sudden death.

Ye Su raised his hand and glanced at his watch; it was already 10:10.

"To be safe, it's better to rush back to the Banyan Tree Nunnery two minutes early. That means if I haven't found the meteorite by 10:19, I'll have to head back."

After confirming the time, Ye Su walked down the area next to the steps. Although there were no weeds or thorns, no one had specially maintained it; it was just a bumpy, muddy path trampled out over the years by hikers.

Fortunately, the slope of this muddy path wasn't particularly steep, and occasionally people would go down to the bamboo forest at the bottom of the slope to dig for bamboo shoots, so it wasn't too difficult for Ye Su to make his way down.

Even so, Ye Su still walked cautiously, holding onto trees on both sides from time to time to prevent slipping and rolling down the dirt slope.

With a clear goal, Ye Su felt his way downward. After about a dozen meters, he reached a small patch where others had dug for bamboo shoots.

Bypassing the bamboo forest from the side, the system's light was still ahead, so Ye Su had to continue walking forward.

Along the way, he slid into a ditch filled with fallen leaves, climbed up the other side of the shallow ditch, and finally pushed into a piece of wasteland overgrown with weeds where no one had walked.

"Damn, there are so many weeds, could there be snakes?"

If he hadn't been pressed for time, Ye Su would have liked to do as he did when he was a child: find a straight wooden stick, beat down all the weeds in front of him, and incidentally drive away any snakes that might be hiding in the grass.

"There it is!"

Trembling with fear, he stepped unsteadily through the pile of weeds. After walking about a dozen meters, Ye Su discovered that in the pile of weeds ahead, the bright blue light he had been longing for was radiating.
