436: Almost not enough to go around

[Note 1: The Host can polish and cut the [lucky stones], but the [Good Fortune] skill effect will only exist on the largest piece of [lucky stone]!]

[Note 2: Besides the Host, other people wearing a [lucky stone] can also enjoy the [Good Fortune] skill effect!]

[Note 3: When the same person wears multiple [lucky stones], the luck value generated by each additional stone is only half of the previous stone! (Example: The effect of one [lucky stone] is 100; wearing two stones simultaneously results in an effect of 150; wearing three stones simultaneously results in an effect of 175, and so on. We hope the Host is aware.)]

"Wearing it on your body can increase the wearer's luck value, and it works for everyone. This thing is really not bad."

"It's just a pity that if one person wears multiple [lucky stones], the skill effect will plummet. Otherwise, if I strung the ten stones into a bracelet, wouldn't my luck value go off the charts!"

Although it was a pity, Ye Su didn't force it.

Being able to bind with the Intelligence System was proof enough that he was a very lucky person.

"Since the effect is diminished if one person wears them all, I might as well just split up these ten [lucky stones]."

[Note 1] already stated that these lucky stones can be split.

Ye Su planned to find someone later to turn the stones into pendants or other jewelry suitable for daily wear, then distribute them to those close to him so they could also receive this luck.

"As it happens, Miss Li's family is in this business. I can ask her to help process them later, and while I'm at it, see if there's a chance to complete the [hidden task] that refreshed at midnight."

"Dad, Mom, older brother, Sister, those two women at home, and I need to keep one for myself—that's seven already."

"If I ask Miss Li to help process them, I have to give her one, so that leaves only two."

Ye Su counted on his fingers and realized that ten [lucky stones] sounded like a lot.

But once divided among those around him, there basically wasn't much left.

"I'll just keep the remaining two for now. If their effects stack, it'll be equivalent to having three-quarters of another [lucky stone]."

After quickly allocating the ten [lucky stones], Ye Su raised his hand to check his watch:

"Ten-twenty. There's still time to take care of the stock purchase."

He needed to buy 2 million in stocks in batches, and would also need to sell them in batches later; it was impossible to dump them all at once, so Ye Su naturally had to entrust a professional to help him manage the account.

Although he would have to pay a small commission, spending money to save himself the trouble was well worth it.

Adhering to the principle of keeping resources within the family, Ye Su took out his phone, scrolled to a friend marked [Lin Yichu], tapped her profile picture, and sent her a message:

[Older Female Cousin, are you there?]

At this moment, inside the Luocai Branch of ICBC, a beautiful female bank employee with a long ponytail, her attractive figure highlighted by her bank uniform, was looking at her phone with a worried expression, searching for clients she could continue to harass.

"Sigh, today is already the last day, and I'm still 150,000 short in performance targets. Where am I going to find such a big client now!"

This female employee was, of course, the Lin Yichu that Ye Su was contacting, and also the daughter of Ye Jianguo's older Sister, Ye Su's aunt.

It had been three months since she was transferred to the branch's Investment Management Department for an internship at the beginning of April.

Compared to before, the salary and benefits in the Investment Management Department were indeed quite good.

A base salary of 6,000, and she could get a 1.5% performance commission on the wealth management products she sold.

As long as she was lucky, earning over 10,000 a month wasn't difficult.

But accompanying the high salary was immense performance pressure.

The branch required her to achieve 500,000 in performance each month for three consecutive months to become a full-time employee.

If the performance for one month didn't meet the standard, it had to be recalculated until she achieved three consecutive months of reaching the 500,000 performance target.

The internship period given by the branch was one year; if she couldn't meet the standard within a year, the internship would be considered a failure, and she would only be transferred to another department.

Furthermore, if she failed to meet the performance targets for three consecutive months, she would be judged unsuitable for the Investment Management Department, her internship would be terminated immediately, and she would be transferred.

In her first month, she worked day and night, but by the end of the month, she had only achieved 300,000 in performance, failing to meet the requirement.

In May, she was lucky and met a big client, which finally allowed her to reach 500,000 in performance.

Unfortunately, good times don't last long.

Today was the last day of the month. She had already contacted every client she could, and now she had only completed 350,000 in performance, still a long way from the target.

At this critical juncture, she had already exhausted all the clients she could possibly find.

Lin Yichu scrolled through her friend list several times but couldn't find any client who could help her make up the remaining 150,000 in performance within one day.

"Sigh..." Lin Yichu sighed in resignation. "That's it for this month. I'll just start over next month..."

Although she said that, the thought of the performance target she had worked so hard to complete last month being wiped out, and having to restart the calculation for three consecutive months of performance targets next month, made Lin Yichu feel a wave of distress.

Actually, it wasn't that she didn't have a chance to complete this month's, or even next month's, performance targets and successfully pass the internship period.

Because in the middle of this month, a middle-aged client had hinted to her several times that as long as she let him keep her, besides monthly living expenses, he could help her complete the business requirements set by the branch.

Given Lin Yichu's personality, she naturally couldn't do something like becoming a mistress for a middle-aged man a generation older than her just for a job.

At the time, suppressing the urge to punch the guy in the head, Lin Yichu politely [declined] his offer.

After a few times, that middle-aged man became a client of another colleague who was also in the internship period.

Lin Yichu heard that in the past few days, that colleague's performance had suddenly spiked, and she had already successfully completed this month's quota.

She couldn't say she despised her, though.

Lin Yichu was actually already used to these kinds of things.

It was just that missing this month's performance target made Lin Yichu sigh inwardly that sometimes, giving up some principles really made things a lot easier.

"Sigh, I guess I'm just not meant to earn this money. I'll just have to be a good little corporate slave."

Just as Lin Yichu put down her phone, intending to push any client who might contact her today to tomorrow to try and ensure she could meet next month's performance target, her phone unexpectedly vibrated.

"When the phone rings, gold pours in!"

After a quick prayer, Lin Yichu picked up her phone again, only to discover that the person messaging her wasn't a client, but her cousin Ye Su, whom she hadn't been in touch with for a long time.

"Why did he suddenly think to contact me?"

Receiving Ye Su's message, Lin Yichu was a bit confused.

As close relatives, the relationship between the two families had always been good.

It's just that as they grew up, she and Ye Su only really interacted when visiting each other during the Lunar New Year.

At this moment, the phone screen showed that their last chat record was just polite small talk from the New Year.
