130: Chapter 130 Green Mountain Meets a Beauty

Early the next morning, Chen Mo drove away from the manor, heading straight to Qingshan Town to keep his appointment.

As the car drove into Qingshan Village, Chen Mo parked it at the entrance and walked into Qingshan Village Primary School. Today was the first day of summer vacation, so the campus was less noisy than usual.

Just as he stepped through the school gate, Chen Mo's gaze locked firmly onto the doorway of the teachers' office.

Su Yingxue stood there in a simple white dress. Her figure was slender but not frail, much like a solitary lotus blooming quietly in the barren mountains, ethereal and otherworldly.

Su Yingxue turned her head, saw Chen Mo arrive, and walked towards him with a smile.

"You're here. That's perfect. I've finished my classes for this semester, and the children have all gone home. There will be a new volunteer teacher coming next semester."

Chen Mo snapped out of his daze. His gaze landed on her pretty face, and his brows furrowed.

Others might only perceive her as having a pure and elegant temperament, but with his master-level medical skills, he saw through the facade at a glance:

Her complexion was sallow and dull, her lips were pale and colorless, there was a pallor under her eyes, and an irrepressible sense of exhaustion emanated from her entire being.

Seeing him staring at her, Su Yingxue raised a hand to brush back a lock of hair from her temple and asked gently, "What's wrong? Do I have something on my face?"

"Give me your hand." Chen Mo's tone brooked no refusal.

Su Yingxue was slightly taken aback. Though puzzled, she obediently extended her wrist. Her fingertips were slightly cool, revealing the frailty of poor blood circulation.

Chen Mo gently placed his fingertips on her pulse and examined it carefully:

Her pulse was thin, weak, and irregular. She was suffering from Qi deficiency, mental fatigue, and heart energy depletion. It was clearly caused by long-term late nights preparing lessons, inadequate nutrition, climbing hills every day, and overexertion. She had severe anemia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and even mild myocardial damage. These were all ailments brought on by pushing herself too hard.

"If you keep going like this, your body will collapse." Chen Mo withdrew his hand, his tone filled with heartache: "Severe anemia and mild myocardial damage. If you keep dragging this out, something serious will happen sooner or later."

Su Yingxue didn't seem to care much, smiling lightly as she said, "The conditions in the mountains are just like this. I've gotten used to it slowly. A little rest will be fine; it's nothing serious."

"A little rest will be fine?" Chen Mo was frustrated, but looking at her face, he let out a soft sigh. Without another word, he took her by the hand and led her into the office.

With her wrist held by him, Su Yingxue's pretty face flushed slightly, but she didn't say much. She could see that Chen Mo was concerned for her and felt sorry for her.

After leading Su Yingxue into the office, Chen Mo pressed her down to lie on the single bed in the room.

Immediately, as a cover, he took silver needles from his bag and quickly sterilized them, having retrieved them from his space.

Then he said to Su Yingxue, "Don't move. I'll apply acupuncture to stabilize your heart meridian and alleviate the symptoms."

Chen Mo's technique was clean and precise; the needles were placed quickly and steadily. In just a moment, Su Yingxue felt the tightness in her chest and the dizziness and fatigue dissipate significantly, and her whole body felt much lighter.

Chen Mo put the needles back into the pouch, looked at her, and said directly, "Pack your things. Come back to Shanghai with me to recuperate."

Su Yingxue softly refused, "There's no need to trouble yourself. I can just go back to my own home to rest. I'll get better with time."

She had originally planned to leave Qingshan Village now that her volunteer teaching term was over, but she hadn't expected to follow Chen Mo to Shanghai.

"You'll take care of yourself? With your irregular schedule and poor nutrition, you won't recover even by next year."

Chen Mo said domineeringly, "This body of yours can't wait. You must come with me to Shanghai for proper treatment and get your health back on track."

Su Yingxue wanted to say something more. Chen Mo had already leaned over and, without giving her a chance to argue, scooped her up in his arms.

Her body stiffened, her cheeks turned bright red instantly, and her eyes showed some panic. Although she had a good impression of Chen Mo, she had never had such intimate contact with him.

Su Yingxue struggled slightly and whispered, "Cao Mo, put me down. I can walk myself..."

"Don't move around. Your body is weak and can't handle being tossed about."

Chen Mo carried her and walked towards the school exit. Su Yingxue glanced at the overbearing Chen Mo and buried her face in his chest.

On the drive back, Chen Mo told Su Yingxue his real name and identity.

After learning Chen Mo's identity, Su Yingxue could understand why he used an alias and didn't say much.

After bringing Su Yingxue back to the manor in Shanghai, Chen Mo took her directly to the bedroom on the east side of the second floor of the main building.

The room had already been prepared after receiving notice while Chen Mo was still on the road.

"You'll stay here," Chen Mo said as he pushed open the window. "Eat your three meals according to the diet plan I've set, and you must get at least eight hours of sleep every day."

Su Yingxue stood at the door, her lips moving, but in the end, she only said, "It's too much trouble for you, Chen Mo."

"It's no trouble," Chen Mo said, turning to walk out. "Not taking care of your health is the real trouble."

After breakfast the next day, Chen Mo said to Su Yingxue, "Let's go for a walk."

"Okay," Su Yingxue replied.

The sun was just right today, and the two of them walked slowly along the pebble path.

Su Yingxue's steps were weak, and after walking half a circle, she held onto the wisteria trellis and sat down to rest.

Chen Mo sat there with her, resting.

While Chen Mo and Su Yingxue were enjoying the morning sun, the bodyguard Old Xu walked over along the pebble path, holding a mobile phone.

Seeing Old Xu coming to find Chen Mo with a phone, Su Yingxue knew he had business, so she said, "I'm going over there to look at the azaleas."

After saying this, she turned and walked in the direction of the azaleas.

Seeing this, Chen Mo said, "Walk slowly!"

"Got it!" Su Yingxue replied without looking back.

Old Xu came to Chen Mo's side and handed him the phone, saying, "A video just came in from Africa. Old Jia and the others are having a great time playing with the little animals."

Chen Mo looked at the screen, where yellow dust was swirling. He could vaguely see a few figures struggling in the bushes, and occasionally, the roar of African lions could be heard.

After watching the video, Chen Mo handed the phone back to Old Xu and said, "Mm, it seems Old Jia and the others really like the little animals in Africa."

"Old Xu, I, Master Chen, am kind-hearted and cannot bear to see bloodshed. Let them go in peace. I hear the little animals in Africa particularly like people like Old Jia and his lot—tender-skinned and chewy."

Hearing Chen Mo's words, the corners of Old Xu's mouth twitched. You really know how to play, Master Chen!

"Understood, Mr. Chen. I will make the arrangements and let them rest in peace as soon as possible!"
