52: Chapter 52: The Stock Market Bear Market Arrives, P2P Becomes a Lifeline for Capital

Just as Chen Mo safely pocketed the funds from harvesting gold, the Dragon Country's financial market completely reversed.

Forums, tiebas, and fund comment sections online were filled with wails of grief and complaints:

"It's crashing madly! In just a few days, all the previous gains have been given back, and a lot of the principal has been lost!"

"I regret it to death. I should have just put the money in Fetion's Yu Li Treasure. At least I could have secured the interest steadily; why suffer this torment!"

"The deposit for Ofo is still nowhere in sight, and now the funds are losing money. These capitalists have truly screwed people over!"

"CEO Chen is the most reliable. Tianxing Technology never disappoints. I really should have followed CEO Chen all along!"

"Greed truly has no good end. I'll never touch funds again!"

The shared bicycle market was even more disastrous. Alibaba, Tencent, and Baidu exited in disgrace after suffering huge losses. The remaining small companies either went bankrupt or absconded with the money, leaving users' deposits in limbo, with curses everywhere.

This dragged down all sorts of emerging shared industries, causing them to cool off significantly. Investors were terrified and pulled back, no one daring to easily enter the market anymore.

As for shared power banks?

They never even got a chance to take off.

Currently, all the mobile phones on the market in Dragon Country use Tianxing Technology's batteries, which have outrageously long battery life.

Unless someone was glued to their phone watching videos all day without charging, they simply wouldn't need a power bank.

This made it even harder for foreign mobile phone brands to survive in Dragon Country, as they lost even the last excuse of short battery life.

In the president's office of Tianxing Technology, sunlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows onto the desk. Chen Mo sat in his office chair, flipping through the market report handed to him by Zhang Kai, slowly tapping his fingertips on the desk, his face expressionless.

"CEO Chen, this wave in the stock market has hit hard. Those capitalists lost a large sum in shared bicycles before, and now they've lost even more in funds and the stock market. They probably can't hold on much longer," Zhang Kai reported while standing to the side.

Chen Mo looked up and said calmly, "It's better if they can't hold on. The more anxious they are, the more likely they are to make reckless moves."

"You mean they will look for new avenues to recoup their losses?" Zhang Kai immediately understood and asked.

Chen Mo nodded, reached out, and turned on his computer. A pile of data on P2P companies instantly popped up on the screen. He pointed to two of them:

"Look, Jinyin Finance and Erpai Loans. They've been plastering advertisements everywhere recently. Behind them are capitals like Jingwei and Sequoia, with Alibaba, Tencent, and Baidu pushing them from behind."

Zhang Kai leaned over to take a look, frowning, "P2P? I heard that's just for giving out online loans to individuals. Is that thing reliable?"

"Whether it's reliable or not isn't important," Chen Mo's lips curved into a cold arc. "What's important is that this is the only lifeline they can grasp right now. They lost too much before and are desperate to recoup their losses, so they can only bet everything on these two companies. They might even be planning to push them for an IPO to raise money."

"Then how should we make a move? Should we directly destroy these two companies?" Zhang Kai asked.

Chen Mo shook his head, said no more, and simply waved his hand, "You go take care of other things first. I will arrange matters here. Just keep an eye on the stock market and the movements of those few capital groups."

Although Zhang Kai was puzzled, he didn't ask further. He acknowledged with a 'Yes' and turned to leave the office.

Chen Mo was left alone in the office. He leaned back in his chair, staring at the information for Jinyin Finance and Erpai Loans on the screen, a smile playing on his lips.

Then his fingers rapidly typed on the keyboard, bringing up the artificial intelligence interface.

These two P2P companies, backed by capital and desperate to expand, had loopholes all over their risk control systems at this stage. They lacked both complete big data screening and a mature online blacklist, making it the perfect time to strike.

Chen Mo issued instructions to the artificial intelligence, telling it to use its technology to fabricate exactly one hundred thousand seemingly real individual identity profiles, covering everything from ID numbers and phone numbers to work units and bank card information. Every detail was crafted flawlessly, capable of deceiving the real thing.

He intended for these fake identities to apply for online loans in batches from Jinyin Finance and Erpai Loans. Whether the amount was one or two thousand, or ten or twenty thousand, as long as the application passed review, they would take it all.

Once the money hit the account, it would be immediately transferred through encrypted channels, while all application records and transaction traces of the fake identities would be erased, leaving behind only the transfer records of the two P2P companies themselves, proving that this money was willingly lent out by them.

This way, even if problems arose later, it would be due to their own lax risk control. They might even be suspected of embezzlement or money laundering, leaving them nowhere to argue their case, and the trail would never lead back to Chen Mo.

After finishing all this, Chen Mo leaned back leisurely in his chair.

These capitalists tried to corner him at the negotiation meeting last time, then followed Alibaba and Tencent to jump on the shared bicycle bandwagon, and now they wanted to recoup losses through P2P. Did they really think Chen Mo was a pushover?

This time, he would let these insatiably greedy fellows taste the bitterness of losing everything they tried to gain, making them lose every last cent.

In the headquarters of Jinyin Finance and Erpai Loans, executives were holding a meeting, all looking cheerful and high-spirited.

"The number of loan applications has been increasing recently, and the capital flow is surging rapidly. At this rate, we can prepare for an IPO in less than half a year!" The CEO of Jinyin Finance said proudly.

The person in charge of Erpai Loans was also smiling heartily in his own headquarters: "Thanks to the capital behind us, the advertising blitz has been intense. Everyone in the country knows about us now! Once we go public and raise funds, we can recover all the previous losses from the stock market and shared bicycles, and even make an extra fortune!"

"Exactly! Don't make the risk control too strict. Don't get hung up on minor details. Expanding the scale first is the main thing; going public is crucial!" Someone chimed in, clearly already blinded by profit.

They had no idea that a storm targeting them had quietly descended. One hundred thousand fake identities were continuously submitting loan applications, and the funds in their accounts were being silently transferred away, while they were still immersed in the dream of an IPO and raising capital, completely unaware.

In the Goldman Sachs office on Wall Street, executives were also discussing the progress of these two P2P companies, their tone full of anticipation: "The development momentum of Jinyin Finance and Erpai Loans is good. As long as they can successfully go public, our previous losses can all be recovered."

"I hope nothing goes wrong this time. If we lose any more, it will be really hard to explain to headquarters."
