179: Chapter 179 Live Broadcast of the Match
Early the next morning, sunlight spilled through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the manor bedroom onto the soft, large bed.
Wu Dongju woke up dazed. Looking at Chen Mo still sleeping soundly beside her, she gave him a gentle pinch.
Then she rose quietly, tiptoed to the walk-in closet, and changed into a simple casual outfit. Her long hair draped loosely over her shoulders, looking less professional and more gentle than usual.
Actually, she had woken up long ago because today was the opening match of the 2015 League of Heroes Professional League, and the A-Tier League was set to start in a few days. These were events exclusively broadcast by Tianxing Live.
After getting ready, Wu Dongju walked to the bedside, patted Chen Mo's arm gently, and said softly:
"Chen Mo, wake up. Stop sleeping, I have something to tell you."
Chen Mo opened his eyes, still looking a bit bleary. He reached out and pulled her into his arms, saying:
"What's so important that it's more important than sleeping with me?"
Having been busy for half the night, combined with several days of traveling and reveling every night, his voice was full of laziness.
"Don't be silly."
Wu Dongju pushed him gently and said:
"Today is the opening match of the League of Heroes Professional League, Team WE versus Team IG. Tianxing Live is broadcasting the whole thing. This is our platform's key project this year. I have to go to the site to inspect and ensure nothing goes wrong with the broadcast."
Chen Mo rubbed his eyes and gradually woke up. Seeing her serious expression, he smiled and said:
"Why didn't you say something so important earlier?
Fine, I'll go with you. I happen to have nothing to do anyway. Let's see just how good these League of Heroes tournaments you're busy with every day really are."
"Really?"
Wu Dongju's eyes lit up, and she said happily:
"But we have to go in disguise. We can't alert the people from the company. If they see you there in person, they'll definitely get nervous, and that might cause trouble instead.
We'll just pretend to be ordinary spectators, wear masks, and quietly go to the scene. We can also inspect the work of our broadcast team while we're at it."
"Whatever you say, I'll listen to you."
Chen Mo smiled and nodded, reaching out to pinch her cheek:
"However you want to dress up, that's how we'll do it. As long as I can be with you, anything is fine."
The two of them quickly finished washing up and had a simple breakfast prepared by the servants. Wu Dongju found two black baseball caps and two masks, handing one to Chen Mo:
"Put it on quickly. Cover your face well so you won't be recognized."
Chen Mo obediently put on the hat and mask, leaving only his eyes visible. Seeing Wu Dongju also fully dressed, he smiled and said:
"Alright, this way even if people from the company see us, they won't recognize us. Let's go."
The two got into the car and headed towards the League of Heroes tournament venue in the Magic City.
Along the way, Wu Dongju kept telling Chen Mo about the tournament:
"In this League of Heroes Professional League, a total of 12 teams will make their appearance. Many imports have also been brought in, especially for the A-Tier League starting on January 20th. Several South Korean players have come, and the format has been upgraded to a group round-robin. It's much more competitive than last year and will definitely attract a lot of viewers. Tianxing Live's traffic will surely see another surge."
Chen Mo listened attentively, nodding from time to time. Seeing her animated expression, he smiled and said:
"It seems you've really put a lot of heart into this lately. You've worked hard."
Wu Dongju smiled and said:
"It's what I should do. Besides, I'm happy if Tianxing Live does well.
By the way, when we get there, don't talk nonsense. We'll just quietly watch the match and inspect. If the broadcast team recognizes you, I won't let you off easy."
"Don't worry, I promise not to say a word. I'll just follow you and be your little sidekick, okay?"
Chen Mo teased with a smile.
Ten minutes later, the car arrived at the entrance of the tournament venue.
The outside of the venue was bustling. Fans wearing various team jerseys were everywhere, holding up support signs and shouting their team names. There were also many stalls selling merchandise and drinks. The noise was deafening and very lively.
"My god, there are so many people!"
Wu Dongju couldn't help but say as she looked at the scene:
"I didn't expect League of Heroes fans to be so passionate. It seems the popularity of this tournament is even higher than I anticipated."
She was secretly happy; the more fans there were, the higher the broadcast traffic would be, which was definitely a good thing for Tianxing Live.
Chen Mo took her hand and slowly walked into the venue, saying to Wu Dongju beside him:
"The more people, the livelier it is. It also shows you have good vision.
Let's find a seat quickly so we don't get squeezed later."
They found a seat toward the back, wearing their masks and pulling down their caps to stay as inconspicuous as possible.
In the center of the venue was a giant electronic screen, with team competition areas on either side. Players were already entering and testing their equipment. The fans on-site instantly erupted, with cheers and shouts rising one after another.
Wu Dongju took out her phone, opened the back end of Tianxing Live, and pulled up the tournament's live room. She smiled and said to Chen Mo:
"Look, the popularity in our live room has already surpassed a million. It's even livelier than the venue."
Chen Mo leaned in to look. On the phone screen, the bullet comments were so dense they almost covered the entire picture:
"Finally, the opening match! WE vs IG, my youth is back!"
"Tianxing Live's picture quality is so clear! It's much clearer than other platforms. Kudos to President Wu!"
"The foreign players are finally making their debut! I wonder how good they are. I'm so excited!"
"Go IG! I bet IG wins. If they lose, I'll eat my keyboard on stream!"
"WE is the GOAT! The legendary team of the past will surely win the first match!"
"Is anyone else here to see the South Korean imports? I heard there are even more powerful ones in the A-Tier League!"
"Tianxing Live is so awesome this time. Exclusive broadcast and no ads. Love it, love it!"
Chen Mo looked at the rapidly scrolling comments and couldn't help but laugh:
"I didn't expect this League of Heroes tournament to be so popular. The comments are scrolling too fast to read. It seems your hard work lately hasn't been in vain."
"Of course."
A proud smile appeared on Wu Dongju's face, and she said with a tone full of pride:
"For this broadcast, I've been monitoring the team every day to test equipment and coordinate with the tournament. All to ensure the stream is smooth and the quality is clear so as not to disappoint the audience.
Look, everyone is praising our Tianxing Live. I'm so happy."
As they were speaking, the lights in the venue dimmed, and the commentator's voice came through the speakers:
"Good morning, everyone! Welcome to the opening match of the 2015 League of Heroes Professional League. Today, we will witness the peak showdown between Team WE and Team IG. Both teams are veteran powerhouses in the country. Today's match will definitely be spectacular!"
The cheers on-site erupted again. Fans waved their support signs and shouted the names of the teams they supported.
Wu Dongju leaned close to Chen Mo's ear and said to him:
"It's starting, it's starting. Let's watch closely. I'm telling you, Team WE's Mid Laner is exceptionally good, and Team IG's Jungler isn't bad either. This match will definitely be worth watching."
