25: Beast Arena

Under the alternating light and shadow, Lin Tianwei finally arrived at another location after more than half an hour of transport.

After dropping Lin Tianwei, the security guards also left.

Even without looking, Lin Tianwei knew that this place was completely different from the previous laboratory.

Even the air was filled with an eerie aura.

It was a scent like a mixture of madness and bloodlust, originating from countless ferocious beasts exuding a crazed aura.

After a moment of hesitation, Lin Tianwei chose to remain dormant.

Only after the effects of the drug in his body were completely digested did he slowly “wake up”.

Looking around, Lin Tianwei found that it was pitch black.

There was almost no light, making it difficult for him, a nocturnal animal, to see clearly; he had almost no vision.

He could only vaguely make out many massive figures seemingly confined nearby.

And he himself was locked in another cage.

A cage also made of thick iron bars.

Taking a deep breath, Lin Tianwei closed his eyes.

Since he couldn't see clearly, there was no need to waste his energy trying to force himself to see.

Time would provide the answers he sought.

Perhaps sleeping was the best option at the moment.

However, just as Lin Tianwei was about to fall asleep, he heard a piercing noise.

It was like the grating sound of teeth constantly rubbing, an unpleasant noise that he found extremely irritating.

A beast was provoking him!

It was trying to drive away him, a creature daring to trespass into another beast's territory.

Based on the direction of the sound, Lin Tianwei instantly arrived at a conclusion.

He hadn't expected to receive such a warm welcome the moment he arrived here.

Roar~

A low, penetrating roar emanated from Lin Tianwei's mouth.

Dare to provoke him?

Lin Tianwei wasn't one to tolerate it.

However, his roar was like poking a hornet's nest, triggering a chain reaction of echoes.

The air began to stir.

Countless ferocious beasts began to respond to Lin Tianwei's roar.

For a moment, it transformed into a powerful sonic attack, assaulting Lin Tianwei's ears.

Damn it, no martial ethics, many bullying few.

If you have the ability, fight one-on-one!

Lin Tianwei didn't have any special vocal organs.

One beast certainly couldn't out-roar that many beasts.

He simply closed his eyes, pretending not to hear.

Out of sight, out of mind.

The roars of those ferocious beasts, receiving no response from Lin Tianwei, continued on their own.

They were never allies to begin with!

For a time, this unknownly vast venue was filled with the roars of various ferocious beasts.

Echoing continuously, creating quite a lively scene.

Sizzle.

A strange sound was mixed in with the roars of these ferocious beasts.

What followed was an unknown, powerful anesthetic gas.

Under the suppression of the powerful anesthetic gas, the entire venue fell silent once again.

A few occasional roars eventually subsided.

“Ding, congratulations Host for diligently adapting and extracting a new Talent: Anesthetic Resistance (Unranked).”

“Ding, please confirm if Host wishes to use this Talent.”

“Anesthetic Resistance (Unranked): An unranked Talent that slightly increases resistance to anesthetics.”

Even though he had held his breath, Lin Tianwei still inevitably inhaled a considerable amount of anesthetic gas.

However, just as he was feeling muddled and about to fall unconscious, he received a system prompt indicating successful Talent extraction.

Use!

Lin Tianwei chose to use it without hesitation.

Although he could confirm that he was temporarily safe.

He strongly disliked this feeling of being out of control and having his fate in others' hands.

With the successful use of the Talent, in just an instant, Lin Tianwei's previously blurred consciousness became clear.

These powerful anesthetic gases now had a negligible effect on Lin Tianwei.

Despite his joy, Lin Tianwei still chose to feign unconsciousness.

He twitched his flexible ears, attempting to capture some information through sound.

“Noise, noise, what are you making noise for? You damned trash.”

“Becoming fertilizer for the birth of an S-class research subject, that is your destiny.”

“Alright, the world is finally quiet.”

“You foolish things, if you make noise again, your next meal will be halved!”

As the grumbling voice completely faded into the distance, the entire space became completely silent.

Lin Tianwei seemed to have gained some information, and yet seemed to have gained none at all.

After a moment of hesitation, he finally chose to sleep.

He had to ensure he got enough rest to keep his combat power at its peak at all times... “Clang.”

After an unknown amount of time, a crisp clanging sound reached Lin Tianwei's ears.

Opening his eyes, he found a large door behind him.

Behind the door was infinite light.

Following the light streaming through the door, Lin Tianwei discovered he was inside a massive cage.

And all around him were countless cages just like his.

Inside them were countless ferocious beasts with ferocious expressions.

Lions, wolves, tigers, leopards, bears... all sorts of powerful creatures were present.

Not only that, they all had some abnormalities to varying degrees, clearly all mutated creatures.

Their crimson eyes flickered with madness.

As if a mechanism had been triggered, the cage holding Lin Tianwei suddenly began to move.

It moved steadily towards the direction of the large door.

Finally, it fit perfectly, opening a door in front of Lin Tianwei that faced the large door.

Not only that, a terrifying electric current suddenly emanated from within the cage.

It was powerful, yet not enough to paralyze Lin Tianwei's body; it seemed to be urging Lin Tianwei to leave quickly.

Although Lin Tianwei was not afraid of this childish electric current, he was more curious about what lay beyond the large door.

Without hesitation.

With majestic strides, Lin Tianwei walked towards the large door.

Just as Lin Tianwei stepped out of the large door, a metallic clang suddenly sounded behind him.

Turning back, he found that the place he had come from had been completely sealed off.

In its place was a metal door of unknown thickness.

This meant that he had no possibility of returning until he received permission from the owner of the Beast Arena.

Shifting his gaze forward again, Lin Tianwei discovered that this was an incredibly vast venue.

Its structure was similar to a Roman Arena, but without the sprawling spectator stands.

Instead, there were countless modern live broadcasting devices containing high-tech crystals.

Unknown spectators would enjoy the immersive thrill of watching beasts fight to the death through live broadcasts.

Having grown tired of black boxing, a sport that still retained a shred of bottom line.

These thrill-seeking individuals had set their sights on these primitive beasts.

They were uncontrollably intoxicated by the bloody and meaty battles.

In fact, this Beast Arena was also one of Ismail Institute's important sources of income.

While cultivating powerful mutated beasts, it also allowed them to earn a substantial extra profit.

In the very center of the Arena, a huge sign hung.

On the left, it read “Siberian Tiger” with a large number “0” beneath it.

On the right, it read “Grizzly Sandru” with a large number “23” beneath it.

Grizzly Sandru?

Lin Tianwei's eyes held a hint of surprise.

Did the sign refer to the massive Grizzly opposite him?
