505: The truth is too cruel

In the Heavensea God-King's eyes, Lin Tianwei was indeed exceptionally talented, even among the most talented individuals.

Only then could Lin Tianwei reach such a realm in such a short time and gain the qualification to challenge a God-King.

However, the difference between a God-King and a Universe Master, though seemingly only one realm apart, was actually vast and incomparable.

Throughout history, countless talented individuals were stuck at this final step, unable to advance.

A Universe Master remained a Universe Master; no matter how much effort he put in, or what fortuitous encounters he had, he could not break through, ultimately remaining an ant beneath a God-King.

There were many peak powerhouses like Lin Tianwei, but not a single one had successfully ascended to God-King status in billions of years.

The Legend of the Slaughter God-King was merely a legend; he did not become a God-King by exchanging a large number of merit points for a God-King's inheritance.

There was also a most fundamental reason that was completely obscured by the Spring and Autumn brushwork.

Otherwise, Cosmic Beasts of this level could rampage through the Alien Battlefield like Lin Tianwei, earning a large number of merit points to exchange for a God-King's inheritance.

If once wasn't enough, then twice; if twice wasn't enough, then thrice!

Cosmic Beasts of this strength were no longer beings that ordinary Cosmic Beasts could resist. Unless a God-King intervened, they could walk unhindered wherever they went.

Even if there were Cosmic Beasts of the same level, they could still use evasive tactics to avoid confronting equally strong opponents and focus solely on earning merit points.

Thinking of this, the Heavensea God-King sighed, muttering:

"How can becoming a God-King be so easy? Some aptitudes are determined at the moment of life's birth."

"It's just that this reality is too cruel for Lin. Should I tell him the whole story directly?"

In the end, the Heavensea God-King still gave up on concealing the matter.

If he lacked a goal for his beastly struggle, it would be an incredibly cruel thing for an ambitious Cosmic Beast like Lin Tianwei.

Lin's beastly life was still very long. If he could overcome this crisis in the Origin Universe, he would reveal the truth to him at the most appropriate time.

Thinking this, the Heavensea God-King no longer harbored the idea of persuading Lin Tianwei to return, and replied:

"I am very pleased that you have such ambition. The courage to face a God-King is something that most Universe Masters have never possessed."

"But courage is courage; it cannot be used as strength. I hope you cherish your life."

"After all, if you lose your life, even the grandest goals are illusory."

"The Path of a God-King is indescribable, something that can only be understood, not articulated. Even I, as a God-King, cannot offer you any assistance."

"If you have time, you should still come to me first. I will give you a protective talisman, which is the last thing I can do for you."

"The path ahead, the road to becoming a God-King, can only be walked by yourself."

At this point, the Heavensea God-King was filled with emotion.

To be honest, his interactions with Lin Tianwei were not extensive, and the time they had known each other and spent together was extremely short.

But whether it was because the other party was too similar to his old friend, or because he himself hoped that such an exceptionally talented junior could grow smoothly, he had provided Lin Tianwei with a lot of help.

Lin Tianwei was also exceptionally grateful to the Heavensea God-King for repeatedly offering him assistance.

If it hadn't been for the protection provided by the Heavensea God-King, Lin Tianwei would not have been able to endure for so long under the attack of the Star Devouring Behemoth and successfully condense a perfect-level Body of Talents.

It could be said that the Heavensea God-King had bestowed a great favor upon Lin Tianwei.

A great favor needs no verbal thanks. Lin Tianwei would express his gratitude to the Heavensea God-King in his own way, and as for a reply, it was the simplest two words: "Thank you."

Ending the conversation with the Heavensea God-King, Lin Tianwei withdrew all his attention and once again focused intently on observing the Burning Sky Fire Seed.

Flame Law, Flame Law, Flame Law, Flame Law... However, no matter how hard Lin Tianwei tried, or how much Mental Power he wasted, his detection result was only one, exactly the same as the initial detection result: the Burning Sky Fire Seed was the Flame Law.

Just as Lin Tianwei thought his own vision was insufficient to probe this power belonging to a God-King, he suddenly realized something:

Could it be that the Burning Sky Fire Seed was simply condensed from the purest Flame Law, without any other flashy powers?

This was also why Lin Tianwei's conclusion after so many Mental Power probes of the Burning Sky Fire Seed was so singular.

The Burning Sky Fire Seed itself was an aggregate of Flame Law, so how could it contain anything else?

As his thoughts opened up, Lin Tianwei's research on the Burning Sky Fire Seed also began to make new progress.

He finally reached a conclusion: the Burning Sky Fire Seed was an aggregate of Flame Law.

A large amount of Flame Law aggregated together through some special method, ultimately forming this powerful Burning Sky Fire Seed, capable of incinerating all matter and laws.

This might also be one of the reasons why God-Kings were so powerful.

Thinking of this, Lin Tianwei once again imprisoned the Burning Sky Fire Seed, retracting it into the Tiger Tooth Space.

This time, he took out the heart of the heavenly sea, a supreme treasure capable of re-condensing a body, a supreme treasure containing a large amount of power belonging to the Heavensea God-King.

By comparing the two, Lin Tianwei could obtain more information about the Path of a God-King.

Thanks to Lin Tianwei having used the heart of the heavenly sea before, coupled with the heart of the heavenly sea's special nature as a supreme treasure for Cosmic Beasts, the Heavensea God-King had not set any restrictions on it, allowing Lin Tianwei to observe it clearly.

Pure Life Law, this was the essence of the heart of the heavenly sea.

It was through the energy contained within the powerful Life Law that the heart of the heavenly sea could achieve the great feat of reshaping life, allowing its user to evolve at will and become even stronger.

Perhaps every God-King mastered a single, pure law.

The reason they were so powerful was also because they had pushed a certain law to its limit.

Of course, this was merely a deduction Lin Tianwei made based on the information he currently possessed; whether it was correct remained to be seen.

Thinking of this, Lin Tianwei subconsciously looked at the scale belonging to the Star Devouring Behemoth.

If the powers of Blazing Sky God-King and Heavensea God-King both carried the aura of pure law, then this scale was dim and lusterless, making it difficult for a beast to see clearly.

As for the law contained within it, Lin Tianwei had no clue whatsoever.

If he hadn't known that this was absolutely no ordinary item, Lin Tianwei might even have thought it was a scale from a common Cosmic Beast.

After a moment of thought, Lin Tianwei finally decided to give it a try.

Every item from a God-King was incredibly dangerous. Experimenting rashly with this scale could very likely lead to severe consequences.

However, no matter how severe these consequences were, they could not be more severe than facing a God-King directly.

To make his path to becoming a God-King smoother, even knowing the danger, Lin Tianwei had to experiment with this scale.

Without hesitation, Lin Tianwei extended his Claws and attacked the scale.

The moment the Claws and the scale made contact, countless sparks erupted due to the terrifying power.

Neither Lin Tianwei's Claws nor the Star Devouring Behemoth's scale were ordinary items, so the immense energy generated by their collision was imaginable.

When the sparks died down, Lin Tianwei looked at his Claws, only to find that his indestructible Claws were now largely worn down, looking somewhat ugly and bare.

In contrast, the Star Devouring Behemoth's scale, despite fully enduring Lin Tianwei's Claws attack, seemed completely unharmed, without even a single scratch.

Although this was merely a strike from Lin Tianwei's physical strength, without the use of energy, Talent, or law,

Such a huge anomaly still made him sigh with emotion: the Star Devouring Behemoth was truly powerful; even a single scale from its body was so troublesome.

However, it was precisely because of this that Lin Tianwei's determination to experiment with this scale grew even stronger.

The more troublesome an item was, the richer the rewards after thorough research, the greater the help it would provide Lin Tianwei, and the more worthy it was of his effort.

However, Lin Tianwei's path of experimentation was destined not to be smooth. After numerous experiments on the scale, he still had no clue.

If the power was slightly weaker, Lin Tianwei couldn't break through the scale's defense to explore its essence.

If the power was slightly stronger, once there was a possibility of breaking the scale's stability, Lin Tianwei's senses would frantically warn him that he would encounter a terrible disaster.

This scale was, after all, a means bestowed by the Star Devouring Behemoth upon Balota to deal with Lin Tianwei. Once its balance was disrupted, a terrifying explosion would occur.

Even with Lin Tianwei fully prepared, while it wouldn't kill him, it would cause him significant trouble.

Most importantly, this was a path known to be without results; he had no need to waste this scale on it.

Perhaps using it when dealing with other God-Kings would be the best choice.

After a moment of hesitation, Lin Tianwei decided to perform one last experiment before ending this exploration.

The Path of a God-King was incredibly difficult, and Lin Tianwei could not be so naive as to think that he could discover his own path to becoming a God-King with just three items belonging to God-Kings.

Under Lin Tianwei's control, this scale belonging to the Star Devouring Behemoth began to float and fly, approaching the Annihilation Cage that imprisoned the Burning Sky Fire Seed little by little.

If conventional methods couldn't uncover the secrets hidden within this scale, Lin Tianwei could only stimulate it with power of the same God-King level.

At this time, the Burning Sky Fire Seed's energy was weak and extremely feeble, so it wouldn't trigger the scale's self-destruct mechanism. It was just right to stimulate the Star Devouring Behemoth's scale to reveal some true wonders.

Facing the terrifying Annihilation Law, a law capable of annihilating even the Heavenly Flame, the Star Devouring Behemoth's scale remained motionless, completely unaffected by the Annihilation Law, and entered the Annihilation Cage unharmed.

Perhaps there was some mysterious power on the surface of this scale that allowed it to resist the invasion of the Annihilation Law.

However, none of this was the point. The point was what kind of changes would occur between it and the Burning Sky Fire Seed, which was also a God-King's power. This was what Lin Tianwei truly anticipated.

Under Lin Tianwei's control, the Star Devouring Behemoth's scale quickly approached the Burning Sky Fire Seed.

However, the contact between the two did not result in the fierce confrontation Lin Tianwei expected; instead, it was eerily quiet.

It was as if some force isolated them, preventing them from reacting chemically with each other.

Especially the Burning Sky Fire Seed, it encountered a tough opponent for the first time, and its characteristic of incinerating everything simply couldn't exert its true effect.

However, this peaceful coexistence was merely an illusion caused by too short a contact time.

Both were items of a God-King; how could they remain calm? That was merely the calm before the storm.

As the Burning Sky Fire Seed continuously roasted it, this time, the unmoving Star Devouring Behemoth's scale finally met its match and showed changes for the first time.

The corner where it touched the Burning Sky Fire Seed rapidly glowed red, like an iron plate that had been burned for a long time, gradually turning crimson.

It was this crimson glow that finally triggered the Star Devouring Behemoth's protective mechanism, allowing it to display its unique power to Lin Tianwei for the first time.

Devouring, a terrifying Devouring Law bloomed from the Star Devouring Behemoth's scale, instantly devouring the Burning Sky Fire Seed's power like a greedy behemoth.

This originally arrogant Burning Sky Fire Seed finally met its match and quickly fled from the Star Devouring Behemoth's scale as if startled.

Even though the Burning Sky Fire Seed fled incredibly quickly, it was still inevitably absorbed 30% of its power by the Star Devouring Behemoth's scale, becoming even weaker, falling from a small flame to a tiny flame, looking utterly miserable.

However, Lin Tianwei had no time to pay attention to the Burning Sky Fire Seed's changes at this moment.

Just after the Star Devouring Behemoth's scale erupted with the Devouring Law, another law, one incredibly familiar to Lin Tianwei, simultaneously erupted,

Causing the scale to instantly return to its original, completely undamaged state.

Lin Tianwei was incredibly familiar with this law power; it was identical to the Reincarnation Law he had once plundered from the Phoenix Bird.

Even the Devouring Law previously displayed by the Star Devouring Behemoth's scale was incredibly familiar to Lin Tianwei; it was a power extremely similar to Talent: Star Devourer (Mythical).

Under the influence of the two great laws, the Star Devouring Behemoth's scale not only suffered no damage from the Burning Sky Fire Seed's incineration, but actually became even more robust because it plundered some of the Burning Sky Fire Seed's power.

It even faintly took on a reddish hue, suggesting it might be able to unleash terrifying flame damage.

However, this was not the most terrifying aspect of this scale. The seemingly actively attacking Burning Sky Fire Seed was not only counter-devoured 30% of its power, but now also transformed into a bizarre half-gray, half-fiery red image.

It was as if some powerful force had invaded the Burning Sky Fire Seed, Infected it, and was about to completely transform it into its own power.

One must know that the Burning Sky Fire Seed belonged to the powerful force of the Blazing Sky God-King, a God-King level powerful force.

For such a thing to happen was utterly inconceivable. (End of this chapter)
