93: Opportunity

Lin Tianwei, who had been slapped for no reason, was furious.

However, directly taking action over such a minor matter seemed a bit excessive.

After a moment of hesitation, Lin Tianwei decided to go to sleep first.

If that insensible Areino dared to provoke him again,

He would let her know who the true king of this place was.

Snoring.

After escaping the Ismail Institute, Lin Tianwei's highly tense mind finally relaxed.

Before long, he fell into a deep sleep.

While Lin Tianwei was safely developing in the Zoo, another storm was brewing.

Looking at the continuously increasing death toll before him,

Pato finally understood what kind of terrifying existence he had provoked.

He had thought that by sacrificing some supplies, he had destroyed the terrifying monster Lin Tianwei.

But he never expected this to be just the beginning of the disaster.

Just as these people were celebrating their survival from the mighty Tiger King's claws,

A terrifying “plague” directly broke out.

The toxins Lin Tianwei had spread on the battlefield, after a period of incubation, finally unleashed their most terrifying outbreak.

Bart, who was discussing the Tiger King's power with his companions, still felt lingering fear.

The joy on his face had not yet faded when his heart suddenly spasmed.

A sharp pain struck him.

He couldn't hold it in and a mouthful of fresh blood welled up.

The sweet, metallic taste filled his entire nasal and oral cavities.

He widened his eyes, filled with disbelief.

When did he get injured?

Bart's question was destined to remain unanswered.

Because Death had already raised its scythe and instantly reaped his life.

With a stumble, Bart fell directly to the ground, never to wake up again.

Bart's fall was like a domino effect, causing a chain reaction.

All the elite warriors who had surrounded Lin Tianwei, more or less, showed symptoms.

The more severe ones were directly claimed by Death.

The less severe ones also completely lost consciousness.

This massive force, astonishingly, lost eighty percent of its members in an instant.

How terrifying.

With the joy still on his face, Pato watched this scene in horror.

He roared, “What in the world is going on?”

“Why did they all leave the battlefield alive, yet ultimately lost their lives?”

“The reason, who can tell me the reason for all of this?”

“Derek, go and check, then tell me the reason immediately.”

Cold sweat.

It streamed down Derek’s forehead.

Such a bizarre way to die was utterly terrifying.

How could he have the courage to go and inspect at such a time?

He immediately found an excuse and retorted, “Pato, I understand your feelings.”

“But don’t rush to conclusions when you’re desperate.”

“What results could a rough man like me get from going to check?”

“It’s better to find professionals from the Research Institute, put on the strongest protective suits, and then go to check.”

“They are professionals, and with their intelligence, they might be able to figure something out.”

Fortunately, Pato still retained some rationality and did not force Derek to go and check.

He ultimately agreed to Derek’s plan.

A group of researchers was dispatched, protected by hazmat suits, to examine the personnel who had died mysteriously.

Finally, after blood tests, a conclusion was reached.

Poisoned!

They were poisoned by an incredibly terrifying toxin.

Due to the late discovery, it was basically too late to reverse the situation.

Most of the personnel were beyond saving.

Only a small number of lucky individuals, with good fortune, were able to survive.

This elite force of the Ismail Institute.

In just one encounter, they lost seventy percent of their members at Lin Tianwei’s hands.

This was a blow that the Ismail Institute had never suffered since its inception.

It greatly dampened their morale.

A slap in the face!

This was the Tiger King’s slap in their face!

Black Fiend clearly couldn't have this ability, otherwise its path would not have been completely unscathed.

The one capable of doing such a thing was clearly only Lin Tianwei!

Pato’s face also turned crimson with anger.

If they had checked immediately upon leaving the battlefield, perhaps their losses would not have been so heavy.

But who could have imagined that Lin Tianwei would be so insidious?

To actually release poison and deliver the final blow to them.

Amidst his anger,

Pato also felt a bit of relief.

The insidious, cunning, and shameless Tiger King was dead after all.

Even if they paid such a heavy price, at least they had completely eliminated the Tiger King.

They had completely nipped the danger in the bud before it could fully mature.

It’s just that one wonders what Pato’s expression will be when he discovers that Lin Tianwei is not dead.

The subsequent matters became much simpler.

Cleaning up the battlefield, tidying up the mess.

They were very skilled at this whole process.

Destroying bodies and erasing traces?

That was merely basic operation.

However, as they were carrying out their actions, another piece of bad news arrived.

Although Sector D was destroyed, Sector F was not.

Mike, who had been closely monitoring Sector F’s surveillance, immediately discovered the strange Black Fiend.

He reported the news to Professor Yanos.

Looking at Black Fiend’s body, like an abyssal demon that had crawled out of hell, Professor Yanos broke out in a cold sweat.

He never expected that the missile would fail to completely eliminate Black Fiend.

If it were allowed to rampage through the Ismail Institute, it would cause an incredibly terrifying disaster.

Professor Yanos had no intention of dying with Black Fiend.

Thinking of this, he quickly notified Pato, saying, “Pato, the disaster is far from over.”

“Quickly dispatch troops to hunt Black Fiend.”

“Immediately, right now!”

“If Black Fiend is given enough time, we will face a Black Fiend in its full glory.”

“How terrifying a Black Fiend in its full glory is, I believe you know better than I do.”

After speaking, Professor Yanos directly hung up the phone.

He began to monitor Black Fiend without blinking.

In the footage, Black Fiend was eating!

Even after the missile bombardment, its body had become a bloody mess.

But with its powerful strength as a foundation,

Hunting the mutated beasts in Sector F was no problem at all.

Before long, it hunted a Sika Deer and began to feast.

As the flesh and blood of the food were consumed by Black Fiend, the energy within it also began to nourish Black Fiend’s body.

Under the effect of its terrifying self-healing Talent, and in Professor Yanos’s horrified gaze,

Black Fiend’s injuries were recovering at a visibly rapid rate.

However, Black Fiend’s size was simply too enormous.

A small Sika Deer was simply not enough to provide it with much nutrition.

It only barely managed to stabilize its injuries.

Stopping its wounds from bleeding and stabilizing them slightly.

After quickly devouring all the venison,

Black Fiend twitched its nose.

It began to continue hunting, relying on its keen sense of smell.

It had to grow up as quickly as possible to have a chance of surviving humanity’s hunt.

However, humans clearly would not give it this time to develop.
