437: It's tragic

Lin Tianwei was a legend, a legend unique to the Law Arena.

In fact, when Lin Tianwei first began to show his prominence, countless Cosmic Beasts had already noticed him.

Any Cosmic Beast capable of rising in the Law Arena was enough to prove its potential.

Even if it couldn't achieve immortality, becoming a World Lord Level powerhouse was highly probable.

That was a World Lord Level powerhouse, an existence capable of suppressing a region of the universe.

In a primary universe like the Extremely Cold Universe, it could even easily destroy worlds.

If one could invest in such a powerhouse while he was still young, it would be an extremely profitable endeavor no matter how one looked at it.

A World Lord Level wouldn't be a loss, a Domain Lord Level would be a huge profit, and an Immortal would be a dream come true.

Under these circumstances, investing in potential candidates was a common occurrence.

Countless forces began to inquire about Lin Tianwei's situation, attempting to invest in him when he was at his most impoverished.

They aimed to use investment as a shackle, binding him to serve their interests.

Unfortunately, from childhood to adulthood, Lin Tianwei never knew what the words 'poor and destitute' meant.

Naturally, he couldn't accept the so-called investments from these forces, which would place an invisible shackle on him.

Facing all the forces that tried to invest in him, Lin Tianwei didn't even accept a single friend request.

This situation naturally caused resentment among these forces.

They all inwardly uttered the most vicious curses, wishing Lin Tianwei would soon encounter a powerful opponent in the Law Arena and experience a deeply memorable defeat.

Chris was one such case.

He had been following Lin Tianwei for a long time and had even sent him a friend request directly:

"Hello, Lin. I'm Chris, the beast in charge of Planet Sierra."

"I'm very optimistic about your potential and hope you can join Planet Sierra and become one of us."

As expected, Chris's friend request went unanswered, completely failing to catch Lin Tianwei's attention.

After all, it was difficult for Lin Tianwei to find his request among 999+ friend requests; a one-click clear was the most cost-effective operation.

"He's just a fledgling Cosmic Beast, yet he dares to be so arrogant towards me."

"I'll wait, I'll wait to see how you lose."

Driven by this inexplicable hatred, Chris began to obsessively follow Lin Tianwei's Arena matches, every single one of them.

However, his expectations were destined to be unfulfilled.

How could Lin Tianwei fall into a bottomless pit of consecutive losses as he wished?

Lin Tianwei not only kept winning but also did so with the highest Arena difficulty.

If these Cosmic Beasts didn't know the specific matching rules of the Law Arena, they would probably have been terrified by Lin Tianwei's powerful performance long ago.

Ten thousand!

When Lin Tianwei's ranking entered the top ten thousand in the Law Arena, Chris could still be stubborn, claiming that Lin Tianwei was just lucky and happened to encounter many weaker opponents.

One thousand!

Cosmic Beasts whose strength could reach the top one thousand in the Law Arena were practically destined to become World Lord Level powerhouses.

There was even a certain probability of them becoming Domain Lord Level powerhouses.

Feeling Lin Tianwei's terrifying potential, Chris finally shut his mouth.

The stronger Lin Tianwei's displayed power, the more it indicated that Lin Tianwei was not to be offended or provoked.

Under these circumstances, even if Chris harbored hatred, he would never openly express it.

He could only bury his resentment in his heart, continuing to curse Lin Tianwei to face defeat soon.

Even if he was lucky enough to enter the top one thousand of the Law Arena rankings, Lin would absolutely not be able to advance further.

Beyond that, those were existences like prodigies; how could an unknown nobody like Lin Tianwei reach that level?

Clearly, Chris's cursing skills were not high; at least he hadn't comprehended the Law of Curses, having no effect on Lin Tianwei's win rate.

Every time he watched with eager anticipation, the only result he ever got was victory, Lin Tianwei's victory, an undeniable victory.

In fact, Lin Tianwei even soared all the way to the one hundred and first place in the Law Arena.

He was about to enter an even more powerful realm.

"I admit your strength has somewhat exceeded my expectations, but your skills stop here.

Without comprehending a domain, you are simply not qualified to fight against the top one hundred Cosmic Beasts in the Law Arena.

In fact, it would only take a single breath for you to be completely annihilated by a domain."

With this mindset, Chris placed a heavy bet on the Phoenix Bird, and even though the returns were minimal, considering the Phoenix Bird had no possibility of failure, Chris was not at all deterred.

One thousandth?

If you can get something for free, why not take it?

What's more, there was the emotional bonus; as long as he saw Lin Tianwei lose and his opponent win, he could also earn a little money. This was a win-win situation no matter how he looked at it.

However, the final result left Chris utterly stunned.

Won, lost, this match was won by Lin Tianwei in a baffling way.

If Chris hadn't only been seeking revenge and hadn't considered taking out a loan, he would have practically lost all of Planet Sierra.

Even so, his small personal treasury had been drained, and he began to live a less affluent life from then on.

But Chris was not convinced; he was not reconciled.

He broke the bank, selling everything he had, and placed another heavy bet on Lin Tianwei's second match, betting that Lin Tianwei would lose.

The previous loss was just an accident; the Phoenix Bird was too weak, which was why it couldn't win.

But now, standing opposite Lin Tianwei was the formidable Val.

Lose? How could he lose?

Supported by this thought, Chris even mortgaged his Mental Power weapon, which he had used for countless years.

He had, in essence, gambled away everything he owned.

However, the outcome of this match was equally cruel; Lin Tianwei still emerged victorious.

Chris wondered if it was his illusion, but he actually felt that Lin Tianwei was very relaxed, appearing somewhat at ease.

Damn it.

He was tricked!

Looking at how skillfully Lin Tianwei used his domain, there was no sign of him having just comprehended it.

Without hundreds of years of using a domain, how could he be so proficient?

He clearly had the strength but didn't use it, instead causing himself to lose so many yuan crystals. This Cosmic Beast named Lin was simply detestable to the extreme!

But this time, you must be done for, right? Facing the formidable Frost, you have no hope of winning at all.

Gritting his teeth, Chris decided to go all-in, betting the entire Planet Sierra, hoping to turn the tables in one go.

At that time, he would not only win back his small personal treasury and all his possessions but also make a huge profit.

The black market was truly foolish to offer such high odds.

Today, I, Chris, will bleed the black market dry.

The outcome is not yet decided; you and I are both dark horses.

The overly confident Chris's fate was predictable; losing Planet Sierra was his ultimate outcome.

Like a gambler who had lost so much that his eyes were red, Chris began to go mad.

Finally, he waited for Lin Tianwei's next match, a match against the even more powerful opponent, Blazing Flame.

Even the beast in charge of the black market personally stepped in to intervene with the odds of this match.

Ten to one, it was simply an outrageous win, wasn't it?

Just as he was about to place his bet, Chris hesitated for a moment.

Since Lin Tianwei had been winning all along, would he still win this time?

After all, judging from Lin Tianwei's state, he was in excellent condition, not at all like he was using his full power.

If his strength was strong enough, could he... No, no, no, how could I have such a foolish thought?

Lin cannot win, absolutely cannot win.

A glint of determination flashed in his eyes, and Chris went all-in.

He was confident that he would win.

However, his defeat was already sealed the moment he decided to gamble without having inside information.

Not to mention that Chris wasn't lucky enough; even the luckiest person couldn't stay lucky forever.

Without surprise, after that day, another tragic Cosmic Beast named Chris was added to the universe.

Chris, it was a tragedy!

...In a certain secret realm, an intense chase was underway.

The leading Cosmic Beast was incredibly familiar; who else could it be but Tore?

Under normal circumstances, Tore, with only Cosmic Level Tier 4 strength, would never have been able to escape Azeia's meticulously planned encirclement.

Not to mention that Azeia himself possessed Cosmic Level Tier 9 strength, and he had at least three powerhouses of Cosmic Level Tier 9 under his command.

Such a formidable encirclement lineup made it an easy task to surround Tore, a Cosmic Beast of Cosmic Level Tier 4 strength.

In fact, Azeia was determined to succeed in this encirclement and had begun planning for Tore several years ago.

Such a weak 'fat sheep' without the protection of a powerful guardian was simply a gift from the universe.

Not to harvest it would be a waste of heavenly resources and would invite divine retribution.

It must be said that Azeia offered an irresistible bait to Tore, hooking this big fish in one go.

With the large amount of funds earned in the black market, Tore's plan to rescue his clansmen could finally be implemented, as he began to extensively purchase One-Eyed Spider People Slaves in the Extremely Cold Universe.

As the acquisition progressed, more and more of Tore's clansmen were saved, and the price of One-Eyed Spider People Slaves even rose significantly.

Tore, however, didn't care at all.

Anyway, these yuan crystals were all a 'Lin's' gift, acquired effortlessly.

Compared to saving his clansmen, they were completely insignificant.

At Tore's no-holds-barred approach, the rescue plan gradually neared its end.

One day, Tore received a message from Azeia, stating that he had a large number of One-Eyed Spider People Slaves, and if Tore wanted to purchase them, he should bring a large amount of yuan crystals to Planet Hetra for the transaction.

To make it seem more realistic, Azeia even made an outrageous demand, setting an incredibly exorbitant price, making Tore realize that this might just be a greedy Slave merchant.

The long period of smooth acquisitions, coupled with the ease of earning money, ultimately made Tore lower his guard.

After hiring a Cosmic Level Tier 9 mercenary as a bodyguard, Tore confidently came to Planet Hetra.

Unfortunately, what awaited Tore was a meticulously prepared conspiracy, a trap to lure him in!

If it weren't for the help of that powerful mercenary, Tore wouldn't even have been able to escape Planet Hetra.

However, that was also the limit of that mercenary.

Azeia's side was simply too powerful.

That Cosmic Level Tier 9 mercenary could only buy Tore a little time to escape; he couldn't do anything more.

After all, the two beasts only had an employer-employee relationship, and this mercenary couldn't possibly risk his life to protect Tore.

Thus, a chase ensued.

It's unclear whether it was Tore's good luck, or perhaps the mysterious Talent: Chance (Extraordinary) at play, but when Tore was at his wit's end, he encountered an unstable spatial vortex.

This unstable spatial vortex was extremely dangerous; not only was its destination unknown, but a slight misstep could lead to becoming a lost soul in the spatial turbulence.

Under normal circumstances, a Cosmic Beast would never risk entering a spatial vortex.

However, Tore, being pursued, was clearly not in a normal situation; with no other choice, his only option was to take a desperate risk.

Gritting his teeth, he chased into the spatial vortex.

Seeing Tore's suicidal behavior, Azeia and the other Cosmic Beasts clearly looked stunned.

They never imagined that such a sure-fire operation would be disrupted by a random spatial vortex.

Tore was at his wit's end and could only trespass into the spatial vortex.

But Azeia was different; he still had a bright future ahead of him, so how could he commit suicide in the spatial vortex like Tore?

However, just watching Tore escape, Azeia felt a little unwilling.

Years of planning, and that enormous wealth that belonged to him, how could he easily give it up?

Just then, Latin, another Cosmic Beast of Cosmic Level Tier 9 strength beside Azeia, spoke, saying:

"Why don't we send some Slaves into this spatial vortex to check it out? Otherwise, letting Tore, this big fat sheep, escape like that would be a real shame."

"The spatial vortex is dangerous, but it's not 100% guaranteed to be dangerous, and there's an extremely low probability of triggering a great Chance."

"We should at least investigate a bit before making a decision."

Latin's words were also what Azeia was thinking; who would directly give up such a Chance?

They naturally couldn't risk their own lives and could only make those Slaves they bought suffer.

After all, they bought these helpless Slaves precisely to help them step on mines.

Instantly, they sent two Cosmic Beasts of Cosmic Level Tier 5 strength into the spatial vortex.

The strength of these two Cosmic Beasts was just right; they were neither too weak nor too expensive, making them perfectly suitable for exploring the spatial vortex before them.

Unexpectedly, after the two Cosmic Beasts entered the spatial vortex, their life flames did not extinguish, meaning they were temporarily safe and sound.

After waiting for a full half a day, seeing that the life flames of these two Cosmic Beasts still hadn't extinguished, Azeia finally felt reassured.

Since these two Cosmic Beasts, whose strength was inferior to his own, could safely enter this spatial vortex, then his entry would naturally be without any danger.

The only regret was that the other side of the spatial vortex seemed to be another space, unable to transmit any messages back, which made the Cosmic Beasts present a bit hesitant.
