261: Zhong Huai likes to do bad things

On Lin Yu's phone screen, messages from Li Mo scrolled silently, recounting every detail of Old Shi's recent arrangements in the corner.

This included the sinister "chance encounter" plan, as well as the anonymous intelligence report that was ready to blow the roof off everything.

After reading it, Lin Yu was even a bit dazed.

If the Abyss Domain and Fangs wanted to fight, let them fight. What did it have to do with him?

He still needed to find the pharmaceutical companies; was there any connection between these two things?

However, the string of urgent question marks at the end of Li Mo's message, along with the request for instructions on "whether to immediately stop Old Shi's plan," allowed him to sense something else.

From this urgency, Lin Yu understood.

Right now, everyone who didn't know his true purpose thought he was plotting something massive.

They had imagined a vast, precise, and interlocking plan, with Lin Yu at its center.

So in their eyes, the conflict between Fangs and the Abyss Domain was a massive unplanned variable.

A trouble that could prematurely expose him to the outside world, bringing nothing but harm to his "scheme."

Old Shi's goal was likely even simpler.

The old man merely wanted to introduce the more powerful forces of the military and the Special Operations Department to create a more chaotic game.

He wanted Lin Yu to go directly up against the highest levels of Blue Star.

At that point, he and the struggling pharmaceutical companies behind him could find a moment to breathe in the cracks between the giants' gambits, perhaps even retaining their control over the companies.

The old fox's calculations were loud and clear.

Lin Yu's finger tapped lightly on the screen.

Muddying the waters?

He thought about it; for him, this was actually a good thing.

Old Shi needed checks and balances, and didn't he, Lin Yu, also need time?

The depth of the Abyss Domain's strength was unknown, and the hidden power behind the military was equally unclear.

Letting them test each other out first in a dog-eat-dog fight wouldn't hurt him at all.

This would buy him the most precious time for growth.

As long as his attributes went up, all problems would cease to be problems.

With these thoughts, Lin Yu's fingertips tapped quickly on the screen, and a command was sent out.

[No need to stop it.]

[Go along with his intentions and add fuel to the fire.]

On the other side, Li Mo, who was anxiously waiting for a reply, froze the moment he saw this message.

Add fuel to the fire?

Not only was the Boss not worried about the plan being exposed, but he wanted this storm to come even more violently?

But who was he, Li Mo!

He might not understand the Boss's arrangements at the time, but that didn't mean he couldn't figure them out!

In the next moment, a chill shot up from his spine to the crown of his head, making the hairs all over his body stand on end.

He understood.

Or rather, he thought he understood.

Old Shi thought he was playing 4D chess, trying to use muddy waters to check the Boss.

But the Boss was operating on a completely different plane of existence!

This massive storm, which everyone thought could subvert the landscape of Blue Star, had been within the Boss's calculations from the very beginning!

This was even... a part of the Boss's plan!

He was still worrying that the Boss's "scheme" might be exposed, not knowing that the Boss actually wanted this matter to blow up completely!

Having thought through this layer, Li Mo no longer had the slightest hesitation or doubt.

That unfathomable awe for Lin Yu transformed into the most extreme executive power.

He immediately mobilized the resources in his hands and began to add fuel to the fire for the upcoming "chance encounter" in a way that was even more efficient and secretive than Old Shi himself... In another meeting room.

Zhong Huai tapped his fingers on the smooth tabletop, making a series of impatient clicking sounds.

Old man Shi had left them hanging here for nearly half an hour.

If Captain Qin Zhan were here, he would probably be fuming, ready to vent all his anger on that old man later.

But Zhong Huai was different.

He didn't like getting angry to someone's face; he preferred doing subtle, unpredictable bad things behind their backs.

He turned his head and looked at a team member beside him wearing tactical goggles.

"Is it done?"

The team member's fingertips traced a complex path in the air, and a miniature data panel unfolded in front of him.

"Reporting to Captain Zhong, it's done."

"The 'Sky Eye' system has been connected to the park's network and has successfully amplified my 'Holographic Perception' ability. A real-time 3D image of the surrounding one-kilometer area has been generated."

Only then did a satisfied curve pull at the corner of Zhong Huai's mouth.

"Beautiful."

"The portable battlefield reconnaissance device you designed is indeed advanced, Captain Zhong," the team member complimented. "In the past, it would have been impossible to achieve this level without alerting anyone."

Zhong Huai laughed and didn't respond, instead focusing all his attention on the holographic map projected by the team member.

Let him see what that old man was being so coy about and what he was hiding.

A 3D structural diagram of the entire industrial park was clearly presented before him.

Interesting.

The hallways in this place were actually movable structures; through precise mechanical transmission, the layout could be changed at any time.

No wonder walking in from the outside felt like there was only one meeting room.

In reality, there were ten identical meeting rooms in this area, and all the others were cleverly hidden.

A fascinating design.

Zhong Huai's finger slid across the holographic map, lighting up rooms one by one before they quickly dimmed again.

Most were empty.

Except for the one they were in... Wait.

His finger stopped abruptly.

Next door.

Right next to them, in that similarly lit meeting room, there was a clear life signal.

Only one?

Huh, strange.

That old fox Old Shi wasn't there?

Then who was this person staying in there alone?

Zhong Huai's eyebrows twitched, and the interest of a hunter discovering novel prey welled up.

He tilted his head toward the team member.

"Zoom in on that room and project the image."

"Yes!"

The team member immediately executed the command.

The holographic map switched instantly, and the scene in the neighboring meeting room was pulled close, presented vividly before everyone.

A Young Man.

A Young Man who looked to be only in his early twenties was leaning boredly against a sofa, eyes closed as if he were napping.

Just him alone.

Wang Teng, Feng Rui, and those other company executives weren't there.

That old man Old Shi wasn't there either.

There wasn't even a service staff member.

"Who is this?" another team member beside Zhong Huai couldn't help but speak up.

"Don't know, there's no matching information in the database," the operating team member shook his head. "Vital signs are stable, energy fluctuations are... very weak, almost zero. He looks like an ordinary person."
