330: New ideas

Seeing him remain silent for a long while, Lin Yao thought her little scheme had been seen through and that her brother was going to go back on his word.

She immediately moved from her seat opposite him to sit right next to Lin Yu, extending two fingers to cautiously tug at the corner of his clothes, shaking them gently.

"Brother..."

Her voice was drawn out, carrying a perfectly measured hint of grievance.

"Fine." Lin Yu raised his hand and gave her head a light pat, neither too hard nor too soft. "It will probably hurt about this much."

"Yay! Long live Brother!"

Lin Yao was instantly revived, jumping up with a cheer, her head hitting the roof of the car with a thud.

She clutched her head, grimacing in pain, but the joy on her face could not be hidden.

Lin Yu couldn't be bothered with her and pushed her back to the opposite seat.

Quiet returned to the car once again.

The hovercar glided smoothly along its exclusive high-altitude lane; the city below had turned into a sea of shimmering lights.

Lin Yu's fingertips unconsciously tapped lightly on the metal armrest beside him.

This car... Li Mo and the others had certainly put their hearts into it.

It wasn't just the appearance and performance; the more crucial part was its form of existence.

From a single pattern into a physical vehicle.

The technology involved here had already exceeded the scope of pure mechanical engineering; it was more like... the application of rules.

Space folding? Matter restructuring?

He heard it was a prototype and couldn't be mass-produced yet, so there was no way to get another one... To be honest, Lin Yu quite liked it.

Should he try... [Card Transformation]?

[Card Transformation].

One of his core skills, it could convert objects, skills, and even concepts he touched into a card.

So, could this car be subjected to [Card Transformation]?

Lin Yu's movements stopped.

He had never thought deeply about this question before.

What were the prerequisites for [Card Transformation]?

He recalled every experience he had using this skill.

Equipment, potions, skill scrolls—these were the most conventional items and could be easily converted.

Later, he had even successfully converted energy bodies like 'Aura' and 'Attacks' into cards.

This proved that the targets of [Card Transformation] were not limited to things with physical forms.

What about this car?

It had a physical form, a complex structure, and it was currently in an 'activated' state.

Did this count as a 'living entity'?

Probably not.

Li Mo had mentioned that the car had a built-in advanced AI for assisted driving, but that was still worlds away from true life.

So, where was the obstacle?

Lin Yu raised his right hand and opened his palm.

That complex black pattern had already faded away again, his palm as smooth as ever.

Was it because this car itself was already in a form similar to a 'card'?

It was compressed into his palm, activated and retracted through a specific command.

In form, this seemed to have no essential difference from taking a card out of a card deck and putting it back.

If he forcibly used [Card Transformation] on this 'pattern', what would happen?

Would it fail, or... would it turn this 'stored' hovercar into a real card that he could replicate?

Lin Yu's heart skipped a beat.

Replication.

That was the key.

If [Card Transformation] succeeded, combined with his power of [Infinite Replication]... he would possess countless top-tier vehicles that could ignore surveillance and come and go without a trace.

This idea was too tempting.

It wasn't just a matter of a mode of transport.

It represented a completely new line of thought.

If even a technological creation of this level could be replicated, then what about warships? Mechs? Or even those war fortresses entrenched in star orbits?

A mobile arsenal belonging only to him, capable of infinitely spawning troops.

This thought made the blood in his entire body run hot.

If they weren't on the street and in motion right now, he really would have wanted to try it.

Lin Yu's fingertips stopped tapping on the metal armrest.

He began to seriously consider the underlying logic of [Card Transformation].

What it converted—was it the matter itself, or the 'information' that carried the matter?

This hovercar had been compressed into a pattern by Li Mo and the others using some technology and stored on his skin. This in itself was an extreme compression of information.

By forcibly using [Card Transformation], was he essentially converting one information format into another format that he could recognize and replicate?

Like... cracking and then copying?

Lin Yu's thoughts gradually became clear.

If this inference held true, then the limitation of [Card Transformation] did not lie in the complexity of the object, but in whether he could analyze its 'information'.

The more an item contained high-level laws or complex technology, the greater the difficulty of analysis.

And once the analysis succeeded... Hum.

The hovercar vibrated slightly, interrupting Lin Yu's train of thought.

The light and shadows outside the car window solidified from flowing lines back into clear building outlines.

They had arrived.

"Wow—" Lin Yao pressed her whole body against the window, letting out an exaggerated exclamation of wonder.

The hovercar was parked on an open-air platform located a thousand meters high in the sky.

At the edge of the platform was an endless sea of clouds. And directly in front of them, a magnificent building that defied description pierced into the sky.

Its main body was made of a pure white unknown material, its surface flowing with a faint glow. Countless tiny aircraft shuttled along the building's exterior walls, forming a futuristic 3D traffic map.

Organization.

The city's top-tier private trial grounds, bar none.

"Brother! Is this the place you mentioned? It's so cool!" Lin Yao couldn't wait and pushed open the car door, jumping out and spinning in circles on the wide landing pad.

Lin Yu stepped out of the car unhurriedly and raised his right hand. The black hovercar distorted and shrank, finally turning into a pattern that faded beneath his skin.

He ignored his sister's shouting and walked straight toward the lobby entrance.

Lin Yao stuck out her tongue and quickly jogged to catch up.

The interior of the lobby looked even more spacious and luxurious than the outside. Above the dome was a simulated deep starry sky, and the floor was as smooth as a mirror, reflecting the stars and giving one the illusion of walking upon the Milky Way.

It was very quiet here, with only a few people around, but each one had a steady aura; they were clearly not ordinary people.

Lin Yu led Lin Yao straight to the circular service desk in the center of the lobby.

Behind the service desk stood a young woman dressed in a proper professional suit. She wore a standard professional smile, but that smile did not reach her eyes.

"Hello, welcome to the Organization. Please present your membership card for registration."

card?

Lin Yu paused.

He didn't have such a thing.

To be precise, he had given it to that kid Zhao Tianyang.
