337: I believe the mission is over.

The phrase "frog at the bottom of a well" still echoed in the deathly silent hall.

The eight members of the Black Armor Guard were frozen in place as if a petrification spell had been cast upon them.

Their movements had come to a standstill.

It wasn't because of an order, nor was it because of fear.

Rather, it was due to a situation that was even more absurd and unsolvable.

They were afraid to strike the rat lest they break the vase.

If this Little Girl before them were just an ordinary genius, even a Mythic Rank one, they would have had to carry out their orders and take her down today.

The rules of the Organization outweighed everything else.

But now, the situation had changed.

A Mythic Rank genius with severe mental issues.

Combining those two descriptors produced a toxic chemical reaction.

Fight?

How could they fight?

If they won, it would be seen as the Organization using its power to bully a Little Girl who wasn't right in the head. If word got out, the entire Linzhou City would point fingers at them.

Wouldn't those media people go crazy with joy?

The Organization still had a business to run!

And if they lost?

That would be even worse. A Black Armor Guard composed of eight Level 100 elites, defeated single-handedly by a mental patient. The Organization might as well close shop tomorrow and convert into a mental hospital.

What was even more fatal was that if they provoked her during the fight and worsened her condition, or caused some irreversible damage... they would be facing more than just public opinion.

They would face that damn law protecting special populations!

For a moment, these eight battle-hardened iron-blooded guards felt helpless for the first time as they faced this impatient Little Girl standing with her hands on her hips.

Lin Yao waited for a long time.

She had already struck her pose, and magic was pulsing at her fingertips, ready to go.

Yet those eight Tin cans across from her seemed to have collectively disconnected, standing there motionless.

What was the meaning of this?

"Hey!"

The Little Girl was displeased, her crisp voice carrying irrepressible anger.

"Why aren't you attacking? Are you looking down on me?"

Her shout sent a shiver through the surrounding Transferred Ones who had just reached a "consensus."

"It's over, it's over, she's getting agitated!"

"Don't provoke her! Quick! Someone go calm her down!"

"Calm her down my foot! Didn't you see her brother standing right next to her? That one's a lunatic too! What if they both have an episode at the same time?"

"Do you think they'll just relieve themselves anywhere?"

“Hiss... that makes sense.”

The crowd whispered among themselves while unconsciously backing away another two steps, fearing they might be caught in the fallout.

The Black Armor Captain's cold electronic visor flickered erratically. In the internal communication channel, the team members' exclamations had already turned into a mess.

"Captain, what do we do?"

"How the hell... are we supposed to fight this?"

"Should we... retreat first?"

The Captain didn't speak. He was using his brain, filled with electronic components and combat data, to frantically calculate the optimal solution.

However, every scenario ultimately pointed to a large, red "Dead End."

Lin Yao saw their cowardly "if the enemy doesn't move, I won't move" attitude and completely lost her temper.

She felt she had been subjected to an unprecedented insult.

It was even worse than the receptionist's sarcasm!

"Are you going to fight or not!"

She took a step forward, and fine specks of magical light began to dissipate around her as a powerful aura started to rise.

"If you don't make a move, I'm coming over!"

At this moment, the air in the entire hall seemed to freeze.

Meanwhile, Wen Yan, the elegant young man in gold-rimmed glasses who had been standing in the corner of the crowd, was also completely dumbfounded.

He stared blankly at the aggressive girl in the center, then at the terrified onlookers who looked as if they were watching some forbidden entity.

How... did things develop to this point?

He only wanted to subtly enlighten this group of blind fools so they would realize what kind of existence they were facing.

And the result?

The result was that his "enlightenment," paired with that damn report, had directly labeled Lin Yao as a "peerless lunatic" instead of a "peerless genius."

Now, everyone knew of her power.

But everyone was also convinced that there was something wrong with her head.

Seeing Lin Yao's irritable "if you don't come at me I'm going to get angry" look, Wen Yan's confidence wavered violently for the first time.

Could it be... that what the newspaper said was true?

She... really has mental issues?

As soon as this thought surfaced, it wrapped around his heart like a vine.

If Lin Yao was a lunatic...

Then she couldn't possibly be the one who triggered the "Divine Revelation" mission.

How could a lunatic gain the favor of a "God" to carry out a secret mission concerning the fate of the world?

Then... the only possibility left was... Zhao Tianyang?

So, his mission was complete?

Wen Yan's mind was a complete mess.

He felt that the logic and judgment he took pride in had been smashed to pieces by reality.

He even began to wonder if he had been wrong from the very beginning.

Just as his worldview was crumbling and he was doubting his life...

Slap!

A large hand slapped heavily onto his shoulder.

The force was so great that it made him stumble forward.

"Wen Yan! You bookworm, what are you dazing off here for?!"

A booming voice, tinged with a hint of cynicism, exploded in his ear.

"I rushed here as fast as I could. I was even caught by the boss for a half-hour lecture at the critical moment. I hurried over—the match isn't over yet, is it?"

Wen Yan turned his head stiffly.

A familiar face, with a touch of laziness and wildness, entered his vision.

The newcomer wore casual combat gear and had a tall build. His face always bore an indifferent expression that seemed to say, "Even if the sky falls, it's none of my business."

Zhong Huai.

Why was he here?

"Zhong... Senior Zhong?" Wen Yan spoke subconsciously. He didn't even notice the slight tremor in his voice, like someone who had finally found their pillar of support.

"Don't 'senior' me, call me Brother Zhong." Zhong Huai waved his hand dismissively. His gaze moved past Wen Yan to the bizarre confrontation in the center of the hall.

"Heh, what's the situation? Performance art?" He raised an eyebrow with interest. "I thought there was an appointment for a fight. Why did it change into standing at attention?"

Wen Yan opened his mouth but didn't know where to start.

He could only raise a finger and point tremblingly at Lin Yao in the center.

"They... they say..."

Wen Yan felt his tongue was tied in knots.

"Say she's... an idiot."

The smile on Zhong Huai's face froze.

He followed Wen Yan's finger and his gaze fell on the girl who was currently stomping her feet in anger because no one would fight her.

Then, he turned back and re-examined his colleague, the so-called brain trust of "Fangs," with a look as if he were seeing an alien.

"What did you say?"

"I said..." Wen Yan took a deep breath and said with difficulty, in a tone of stating facts, "Based on everyone's judgment here and the evidence from that report... Miss Lin Yao has a very high probability of having a severe Mental cognitive disorder."
