92: Millions of volts!

Returning to his suite, Lin Yu closed the connected channel.

His younger sister needed some time to digest and adapt.

As for him, he needed to use this last period of calm before the College Entrance Examination to push his strength up another level.

According to the regulations of Linzhou, all candidates were prohibited from privately entering any Abyss or Secret Realm before the unified Abyss combat assessment organized by the College Entrance Examination.

This meant that the most conventional path of leveling up by fighting monsters was blocked.

To become stronger, only other avenues remained.

Equipment, potions, skills, talents... Potions were temporarily maxed out, and equipment was external, so there was no rush for now.

Talents were innate and extremely difficult to acquire later on.

So, the only thing that could be rapidly improved was skills.

Lin Yu opened his attribute panel, his gaze falling on the skill bar.

Professional Skills: [Card Transformation LVMAX], [Card Innovation LV10], [Mirror Copy LV1], [Card Creation].

Learned Skills: [Rockfall], [Fireball], [Water Arrow], [Fenghui], [Ice Cone], [Lightning Spell], [Hardening], [Mana Shield].

His gaze lingered on the [Card Creation] skill for a long time.

This was the true core of the [Myriad Card Creator] profession.

[Card Transformation] was about transforming existing things into cards.

[Card Innovation] was about optimizing and deriving from existing cards.

And [Card Creation] was about creating cards from nothing, out of thin air.

This was the fundamental skill of a Card Creator.

But over the past five years, in order to screen for the [Ghost Card], all his efforts had been focused on [Card Transformation] and [Card Innovation].

He had never even used this most fundamental professional skill once.

Its proficiency was a glaring 'zero'.

He really did it an injustice.

Lin Yu planned to start raising the proficiency of this core skill, little by little, starting today.

However, just as he was about to close the panel, the corner of his eye suddenly caught a different color.

Among the gray proficiency bars of all the skills, one skill actually glowed with a faint blue light.

[Lightning Spell LV1 (Proficiency: Blue)]

Hmm?

Lin Yu's movements stopped.

Blue proficiency?

The proficiency mechanism for these non-professional skills was different, and blue... that wasn't low!

What was going on?

He clearly remembered that after he bought these basic spell skill books from the black market, he had only learned them and never used them once.

The proficiency of all skills should have been zero.

Why was [Lightning Spell] different?

A thought suddenly flashed through his mind.

Parking lot!

He remembered.

In the community's underground parking lot, to deter Chen Rui and Su Qingxue, he had once used a [Lightning Spell].

One use... a [Lightning Spell] amplified sixteen thousand three hundred and eighty-four times!

Could it be... Lin Yu's heart rate suddenly accelerated.

He immediately clicked on the detailed description of [Lightning Spell].

[Lightning Spell LV1]

[Proficiency: Blue (16384 / 100000)]

[Proficiency Effect: Skill damage increased by 20%, skill range expanded by 20%, paralysis effect duration increased by 20%, mana consumption reduced by 20%.]

So it was!

The system's judgment was not based on the 'number of times' he used it to calculate proficiency.

Instead, it was based on the energy level he leveraged each time he used it!

That one [Lightning Spell] amplified sixteen thousand three hundred and eighty-four times, in the system's judgment, was equivalent to him conscientiously casting the standard version of [Lightning Spell] sixteen thousand three hundred and eighty-four times!

Once!

He only used it once!

His skill proficiency directly broke through white common (0-999) and green excellent (1000-9999) from zero, rushing straight to blue mastery (10000-99999)!

A crazy thought uncontrollably sprouted and spread in Lin Yu's mind.

Since the amplification multiple is equivalent to the number of uses... then... what if he went all out?

One million forty-eight thousand five hundred and seventy-six times!

The highest amplification multiple he could achieve right now!

This number, just passing through his mind, sent shivers down his spine.

What kind of scene would that be?

Would the proficiency of [Lightning Spell] directly jump from blue to purple, or even... gold? Red?

This temptation was too great.

So great that he was willing to take a risk for it.

He looked around.

This 'Divine Concealment' residence was said to have the highest authority, independent space, and absolute privacy.

The respectful attitude of the receptionist was still vivid in his mind.

Presumably, the defense and soundproofing measures here should be top-notch.

It should... be able to withstand it, right?

Lin Yu took a deep breath, no longer hesitating.

He walked to the vast open space in the center of the suite, a dedicated virtual sparring area.

Lightning Spell!

Card Transformation!

Skill Release Card [Lightning Spell]!

Ghost Card, multiply!

One million forty-eight thousand five hundred and seventy-six times!

Buzz!

An indescribable, terrifying pressure instantly spread out from him as the center.

The [Lightning Spell] card in his hand was no longer that ordinary hard card.

It had become a miniature lightning black hole!

Countless tiny, pitch-black electric arcs frantically leaped on the card's surface, tearing at the surrounding space, emitting a grating sizzling sound.

The light in the room seemed to have been swallowed by it.

Lin Yu felt that he was not holding a card.

But a supernova about to explode!

Just maintaining this state brought an incredibly terrifying consumption.

Making Lin Yu somewhat unable to sustain it.

Can't wait any longer!

"[Lightning Spell]!"

Lin Yu let out a low growl and violently threw the lightning in his hand forward!

The moment the card left his hand, the entire world fell into absolute silence.

Time seemed to have been paused.

Immediately after.

An indescribable, utterly pure white light erupted with a roar!

That was not light.

That was destruction itself.

It was the most primal energy torrent, tearing through space and dimensions!

The entire world before Lin Yu's eyes was completely swallowed by this white light.

The brilliant galaxy outside the floor-to-ceiling window instantly disappeared.

The luxurious room, the solid walls, the intelligent operating interface... everything, in this white light, turned into the most basic data stream, and then completely annihilated.

"Zzzzt... zzzzt..."

The piercing crackle of electricity, delayed for several seconds, then frantically poured into his ears.

[Warning! Warning! Detecting super-standard energy impact!]

[Space module... collapsing!]

[Virtual landscape system... collapsing!]

[Life support system... switching to backup power!]

[Core energy source... overloaded! Overloaded! Melting down!]

[Warning! Emergency landing in progress!]

A series of urgent, sharp alarm sounds echoed frantically in the space that had already turned into a dark chaos.

Lin Yu felt a violent tremor under his feet, as if the entire building was falling from a great height.

He was completely dumbfounded.

Did... did he overdo it?

He just wanted to grind some skill proficiency!

How did it seem like... he burned out the server?
