101: Chapter 101 Ivy with a Dazed Expression

There weren't many stone boxes in the Sealing Chamber, only three in total.

According to Ms. Aotili, Corruptors didn't appear very often; she had only sealed seven of them over several years.

Every once in a while, the Crimson Holy Blade would send someone specifically to collect the sealed objects.

All Nie Ning had to do was hand the sealed objects over to those people.

However, the timing was uncertain.

A Wizard's time was precious, so they naturally wouldn't run to every city for no reason. After all, there were nearly forty or fifty cities in the Wilbes Republic alone.

...

Nie Ning walked around the stone pillars shrouded in barriers to inspect them.

Although he didn't know what was inside, his Malice Perception brought a very strong warning.

Even just looking at them, he could feel a sinister chill.

The reason Nie Ning came here, besides inspecting his territory, was actually because he had some other small intentions.

If possible, Nie Ning wanted to let his soul of corruption devour them.

However, doing so might lead to unknown consequences.

"It seems it still won't work."

The fluctuations of the Power of Corruption emanating from the stone boxes were very strong, clearly not suitable for his soul of corruption to devour.

Especially the Human-Faced Balloon; its ability was the most effective counter to Nie Ning's soul manipulation.

If it became too strong and went out of control, the destruction it caused might not be any less than that of a demon, and could even be more violent.

After all, Corruptors had no concept of good or evil, and didn't even have their own thinking patterns; they would only attack anyone indiscriminately according to their own needs.

Nie Ning sighed: "I'll wait until I'm stronger before considering it."

Besides increasing his strength, he also needed to think carefully about how to modify the The Federation's archives.

Otherwise, if the person who came to collect the sealed objects found out, an 'evil path' like himself probably wouldn't have a good end.

...

One month later.

Wizard Tower basement.

At this moment, more than ten pieces of strange beast meat wrapped in paper were piled up in the basement.

Existing strange beasts weren't actually as numerous as imagined; even this amount of meat was bought by Valk using his connections in nearby cities.

Nie Ning cooked the strange beast meat in batches, even adding quite a few ingredients for the purpose.

After all, his status was no longer low, and that barbaric way of eating was no longer suitable for him.

After some cooking, the aroma of meat filled the entire basement.

Just as Nie Ning was preparing to eat, the Wizard Tower's restrictions were triggered.

"Strange, who would come looking for me so late? Could it be Valk coming to collect a debt?"

Buying strange beast meat required money.

Although Valk said it was a gift, Nie Ning naturally declined Valk's offer with the thought of owing as little debt as possible.

But Valk shouldn't come to the door for money this quickly, right?

Nie Ning returned to the first floor and opened the door. What met his eyes was Ivy, dressed in a princess gown.

"What are you doing here so late?"

Looking at Ivy outside the door, Nie Ning asked with some confusion.

"I just wanted to ask if you have time to explore the ruins."

Ivy looked at Nie Ning with a slight sense of wonder.

She hadn't expected that while she originally only wanted to introduce Ms. Aotili to Nie Ning, he had now become the Wizard guarding Ska City; life truly was full of surprises.

Nie Ning thought for a moment and then nodded: "I have time. We can set off in the next few days."

He had promised Ivy long ago, and there was no point in dragging it out.

As for Lilith's safety.

He had recently studied Alchemy and created something called a rune orb.

A rune orb could have spells one mastered imprinted into it; then, simply crushing it would activate the magic within.

Since 'Meteor Blast' was too powerful, Nie Ning only made one and gave it to Lilith to hand over to Norma for use at a critical moment.

However, he had made quite a few rune orbs for Earth Spirit Puppets.

Judging by the power of a First-Tier spell, it was roughly enough to ensure Ivy's safety.

Of course, the rune orbs were given to Lilith by Nie Ning in disguise.

"That's good. I was worried you wouldn't have time."

Ivy breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing this, a happy smile blooming on her face.

Besides the famous Qi Burst Secret Technique, the Blood Flame Knights Association actually had another technique called the Bloodflame Secret Method for tempering the body and improving aptitude.

Unfortunately, this secret method had a restriction: it had to be learned below the High-Tier Knight level to maximize its effects.

This was also one of the reasons she came to find Nie Ning.

If Nie Ning couldn't leave, she would have to join forces with others to explore first.

Otherwise, given her aptitude, the longer she delayed, the more disadvantageous it would be for her.

Just then, Ivy suddenly sniffed the air as an aroma of meat invaded her nostrils.

"What smells so good?"

"I'm boiling some meat. I'll go get you some."

Hearing this, Nie Ning smiled and prepared to get some meat for Ivy.

"Don't go to all that trouble. I'll just go in and eat."

As she spoke, Ivy barged into the tower, making Nie Ning roll his eyes.

She really was used to being a young lady, treating this place like her own home.

But since she was already in, it would be somewhat unreasonable to kick her out.

...

Taking Ivy into the basement, she looked left and right like someone who had never seen the world before.

And he felt that Ivy didn't seem to have come in to eat meat, but rather specifically to take a tour.

Seemingly noticing Nie Ning's gaze, Ivy's face turned slightly red: "Ms. Aotili never allowed me to come in before."

Nie Ning smiled: "Look if you want, just don't touch the things inside. Many items are very dangerous."

A Wizard's things were all very dangerous; even ordinary rune books could cause various negative reactions if an ordinary person looked at them.

And since Audrey was at least a Second Ring Wizard, the things she mastered were on a completely different level from Nie Ning's; it was understandable not to let her in.

...

The two returned to the room where Nie Ning was cooking meat, the rich aroma of meat proving intoxicating.

As knights, both of them had quite large appetites.

Ivy showed none of the poise of a young lady, devouring the food with her hands. For a while, the two ate until their mouths were greasy.

But after a while, Nie Ning discovered a problem.

The genes in the strange beast meat activated his Strange Beast Body, causing the Blood Qi in his body to become restless, looking for all the world like it was about to go out of control.

Just then, Nie Ning looked at Ivy and found her face flushed, her eyes dazed as if she were drunk.

It was only then that he realized she had eaten too much strange beast meat, causing Ivy to exhibit unknown symptoms.

He had Supernatural Adaptability, so he could digest the strange beast and filter out some of the bad negative impurities.

Nie Ning suppressed the urge to transform and stepped forward to check Ivy's abnormality; he didn't want her to develop some problem from eating meat.

But Ivy's expression was seductive, and she actually reached out to hug Nie Ning's neck and kiss him.

This gave Nie Ning a big fright, and he hurriedly slapped the back of Ivy's head, knocking her unconscious.

"Scared me to death. Luckily I reacted quickly, or my reputation would've been ruined."
