262: Chapter 262 Mountain Giant

At this moment, Nie Ning was completely stunned.

Nie Ning lifted the Jade-Colored Light-Treading Fox in his hand and shook it vigorously. "Didn't you say this was the way out?"

Because he hadn't seen anyone for a long time, he had asked the Jade-Colored Light-Treading Fox earlier, and it had naturally pointed in this direction.

"I don't know, I've never left before."

The Jade-Colored Light-Treading Fox turned its head away, completely unwilling to look at Nie Ning's ugly face.

Resources were abundant in the forest, so it had no need to leave, and naturally wouldn't have run to this place.

"If you didn't know, why did you point in this direction?"

Nie Ning looked displeased and stroked the Jade-Colored Light-Treading Fox's head.

At this point, Nie Ning even began to doubt whether this place was actually Belvis World.

"Stop touching me!"

The Jade-Colored Light-Treading Fox twisted its head in frustration, trying to avoid Nie Ning's palm. "I saw Two-legged beasts coming from this way before."

Seeing the Jade-Colored Light-Treading Fox's annoyed expression, Nie Ning simply couldn't stop his hands.

It had to be said, petting a cat... er, petting a fox was indeed addictive; the more it showed disdain, the more he wanted to pet it, enjoying the sight of it being unable to escape and forced to endure in silence.

Looking up at the green mountains and clear waters in the distance, Nie Ning was momentarily at a loss for what to do.

Just as Nie Ning was pondering his next move, the ground beneath his feet suddenly began to vibrate.

Under Nie Ning's stunned gaze, his field of vision slowly rose higher.

When the shaking stopped and his Spiritual Power spread out, he realized he was actually standing on top of a hundred-meter-tall Stone Man.

Nie Ning's spirit jolted.

Mountain Giant!

A large transcendent creature with a strength of at least the fifth rank and an appearance very similar to a human.

In Nie Ning's line of sight, a massive arm swatted toward him.

Startled, Nie Ning's internal battle qi surged frantically as he leaped toward the cliff below.

But then, the entire mountain range seemed to have a problem as the earth began to shake violently again, and several massive Mountain Giants rose from the ground.

Seeing this, Nie Ning was scared out of his wits.

Immediately after, he saw countless boulders smashing toward him.

Left with no choice, Nie Ning could only dodge the stones while fleeing frantically.

Suddenly, the ground beneath Nie Ning's feet softened, and his legs sank into what had been incredibly hard stone. Worse still, a giant foot was stomping down toward him.

Facing such a powerful transcendent creature, Nie Ning gritted his teeth and erupted his battle qi. He instinctively reached for his waist and then infused mana into the xueyan bladeless.

To Nie Ning's surprise, the xueyan bladeless was not affected by the chaotic Elemental Power; the decay rate of the mana concentrated on the blade was significantly slower.

Nie Ning stabbed his blade into the Mountain Giant's sole.

The sharp blade pierced the Mountain Giant's sole, causing its massive body to falter.

However, such an attack was clearly insufficient to cause real damage to the Mountain Giant.

Nie Ning backhanded a strike to cut open the ground and then leaped out from the mud and rocks.

But at that moment, a massive rock palm swatted toward Nie Ning, who was mid-air.

Seeing this, Nie Ning gritted his teeth and held the long blade in front of him, preparing to withstand the attack.

When Nie Ning made contact with the rock palm, an unmatched force surged through him.

'Bang!'

Nie Ning spat out a mouthful of blood and was sent flying like a meteor.

Yet, aided by this terrifying force, Nie Ning managed to escape the area where the Mountain Giants were, his body falling rapidly down the mountain.

In moments, Nie Ning neared the ground, flipping to dissipate the momentum before his legs dug into the soil.

Looking at the Mountain Giants above, Nie Ning wanted to raise his hand to make a friendly gesture, but a wave of intense pain invaded his mind.

"Their strength is truly formidable."

Nie Ning looked at his weak, limp arms and couldn't help but sigh.

The strength of a Mountain Giant was among the very best of all creatures; a few more slaps and he'd likely lose his life here.

Even so, his arms were broken, and his internal organs were injured by the shock.

Thinking about it now, the reason no one could reach that mountain range was likely because of this group of Mountain Giants.

This chaotic elemental region was practically a paradise for Mountain Giants; even a sixth or seventh-rank wizard would likely find it difficult to cross.

And facing the terrifying power of a Mountain Giant, it was likely that conventional knights would find it hard to withstand such force.

Seeing more rocks falling from the mountain and the Mountain Giants beginning to close in, Nie Ning took off and ran into the distance.

...

After running for about half an hour, the large mountain range behind him grew smaller and smaller, and Nie Ning finally stopped, leaning against a tree.

Looking back, the Mountain Giants had not pursued him, and Nie Ning couldn't help but feel relieved.

Looking around, he found himself already deep within a forest.

Nie Ning pulled the Jade-Colored Light-Treading Fox out from his arms. "I'm injured now, so it's your turn to carry me."

Though he said that, his arms had actually recovered quite a bit, and normal movement wasn't much of an issue.

But the Jade-Colored Light-Treading Fox ignored Nie Ning completely, its head lolling as if it had fainted.

"I've been patient enough with you; don't force me to get rough."

Nie Ning raised his arm, which bore the Contract, and spoke in a cold voice.

Although he didn't particularly enjoy mistreating small animals, he had caught the Jade-Colored Light-Treading Fox specifically to ride it.

Now that the Jade-Colored Light-Treading Fox's injuries were mostly healed, it was time for some discipline.

As the fox tattoo glowed faintly, waves of slight stinging pain flooded the Jade-Colored Light-Treading Fox's mind.

The Jade-Colored Light-Treading Fox snapped its head up and glared at Nie Ning through gritted teeth, its eyes full of resentment.

But feeling the gradually intensifying power of the Contract, the Jade-Colored Light-Treading Fox ultimately suppressed the thought of taking Nie Ning down with it.

"Don't do anything strange to my body!"

Having said that, the Jade-Colored Light-Treading Fox broke free from Nie Ning's hands, came to a halt a few centimeters above the ground, and its body rapidly grew in size, returning to its original appearance.

Nie Ning's eyes lit up with joy as he lightly leaped onto the Jade-Colored Light-Treading Fox's back.

Lying on the soft fur, Nie Ning couldn't help but reach out and stroke it carefully.

Feeling Nie Ning's creep-like behavior, the Jade-Colored Light-Treading Fox shook its body in disgust, its angry voice transmitting into Nie Ning's mind: "Don't touch my body recklessly!"

"I won't, I won't. Let's go."

Nie Ning sat up straight and patted the Jade-Colored Light-Treading Fox, urging it forward.

The Jade-Colored Light-Treading Fox gave Nie Ning a fierce glare, white light flickering beneath its feet as it darted through the forest like a forest spirit.

Feeling the breeze blowing past his ears and the soft fur beneath him, Nie Ning felt much more comfortable than when he was riding Chi Yu.

Moreover, the rarity and potential of the Jade-Colored Light-Treading Fox were incomparable to Chi Yu's.

As long as the Jade-Colored Light-Treading Fox worked hard, reaching the sixth rank should not be a problem.
