107: Chapter 107 Serious Consequences

Ivy hurriedly took the book and examined it under the firelight from Nie Ning's hand.

Although Ivy's academic grades weren't ideal, she was at least literate.

After a thorough inspection, Ivy looked shocked, finally confirming that it was all real!

"I seriously love you to death!"

Ivy threw her arms around Nie Ning's neck, jumped up excitedly, and gave him a kiss.

The others looked over at the sound, then silently turned their heads away at the sight.

These two were always flirting; were they not even trying to hide it anymore?

However, no one felt any strange resentment.

Almost all of them were designated family heirs, so they had married very early; some even had children of their own.

Even if they did have any inappropriate thoughts, they could only think them, and certainly couldn't voice them.

Otherwise, if City Lord Valk found out, they would likely have hell to pay.

Nie Ning pushed Ivy away with a look of feigned disgust, wiped the saliva off his face, and then turned to look at Eden and the other two.

"Come here, the Blood Flame Secret Art has been found."

Hearing this, the three were stunned for a moment, then hurriedly ran to Nie Ning's side once they reacted.

After the three looked at the book in Ivy's hands, their faces flushed with intense excitement.

This way, advancing to Great Knight was practically a done deal!

Of course, one couldn't rule out the possibility of bad luck...

"Then, can we transcribe a copy of the Blood Flame Secret Art?"

After the brief excitement, Eden looked at Nie Ning and asked cautiously.

Fearing Nie Ning wouldn't agree, Eden even added, "I only need the Blood Flame Secret Art; I don't need anything else."

The others felt the same.

Although this was what they had agreed upon long ago, Nie Ning was the strongest here, and he was the one who first discovered the Blood Flame Secret Art.

If Nie Ning was unwilling, as an official wizard, it would be difficult for them to beat him even with Ivy's help.

Nie Ning shook his head and smiled slightly. "There's no need for that. This was agreed upon long ago; you can all transcribe a copy of these techniques and secret arts."

Without the map, he might not have even had the chance to enter this place.

It was just transcribing a copy of a technique; as long as it wasn't used for evil, it wasn't a big deal.

"Thank you, My Lord."

The three thanked him repeatedly in their excitement.

After all, these were items from the Blood Flame Knights Association. Aside from the Blood Flame Secret Art and the Qi Burst Secret Technique, everything else held great reference value even hundreds of years later.

Nie Ning waved his hand. "Since the items have been found, let's not linger. We should leave this place quickly."

Upon hearing this, everyone quieted down.

Ivy turned to look at the crack. "How do we leave? Those ghostly things seem to be coming again."

Perhaps because the commotion earlier was too loud, the 'buzzing' sound started echoing from outside again.

Nie Ning didn't speak; lightning flickered in his hand as a purple thunder blade slashed against the ceiling.

Although the buildings here were very hard, they couldn't block Nie Ning's skill, and a rift was carved out just like before.

But at that moment, the stones blocking the crack were pushed aside, and a black tide swept through like a flood.

Seeing this, Nie Ning waved his hand to summon an earth wall to block the group.

To Nie Ning's surprise, the black tide actually passed through the earth wall and continued to rush towards them!

Seeing this scene, Ivy and the others drew their knight swords, nervously facing the sweeping black tide.

"Get back!"

Nie Ning immediately stopped Ivy and the others who wanted to step forward to block it.

Even the powerful Blood Flame Knights Association had been wiped out; Ivy and the others would only be swallowed by the black tide.

A gray glow flashed in Nie Ning's Tiger Pupils, and he immediately summoned another earth wall in front of everyone.

Unlike the previous earth wall, this one appeared as if it were made of lime.

With the help of Corrupted Element Control, although the corrupted earth wall was being destroyed at an extremely fast rate, the black tide failed to penetrate it.

With a wave of his hand, Nie Ning continuously cast Lightning Edge Blade to break through the ceiling above.

Upon seeing the ordinary soil above, Nie Ning immediately used Earth Control to open a passage for everyone.

"Go, quickly!"

Seeing that the corrupted earth wall was about to be destroyed, Nie Ning urged them hurriedly.

"Then you must be careful."

Ivy and the others knew staying was useless, so they quickly jumped toward the hole above and climbed up using both hands and feet.

By now, the black tide had broken through the earth wall.

Nie Ning reached out and summoned several gray earth spikes in front of him.

Just as the black tide rushed toward Nie Ning, the launched earth spikes suddenly exploded.

Lava Burst!

In an instant, a large hole was blown into the black tide.

Taking this opportunity, Nie Ning leaped lightly, using the wall of the hole for leverage to jump out of the ruins.

"Are you all right?"

Seeing Nie Ning come up, Ivy hurriedly stepped forward to check his body.

"I'm fine."

Nie Ning shook his head, his gaze fixed on the deep pit.

Just then, a surge of black tide rushed out from the hole.

However, under the sunlight, the black tide began to 'sizzle' and smoke, then quickly retracted back into the hole.

Yet the black tide did not leave; instead, it lingered in the shadows, looking like it wanted to come out but didn't dare to.

Seeing this, Nie Ning's expression turned grave as he realized the severity of the problem.

They seemed to have released a demon!

Although the black tide couldn't come out now, it didn't mean they couldn't come out at night.

It was already afternoon; in another two or three hours, it would be dark.

Furthermore, Corrupted Creatures usually shared a common trait: the more living beings they killed, the stronger they became.

Now that the walls below were destroyed, once the black tide left this place, it would inevitably threaten the peace of Ska City.

Nie Ning withdrew his gaze and sighed inwardly. "You all leave first."

As the Guardian Wizard of Ska City, although he could flee this place, he couldn't escape the promise he had made.

He had to at least try; if it really couldn't be resolved, it wouldn't be too late to run then.

"What about you?"

Ivy asked hurriedly.

"I'll first try to see if I can deal with these ghostly things."

"Go back and inform your father. If I haven't returned in two days, notify the The Federation and prepare to evacuate the city's residents."

Nie Ning instructed with a solemn expression.

The black tide was highly aggressive; if it entered the city, the consequences would be unthinkable. Even if Audrey returned, she wouldn't be a match for the black tide.

"You..."

Ivy wanted to say more, but Nie Ning cut her off directly.

Nie Ning waved his hand. "There's no use in you staying. I'd even have to be distracted to protect you."

His methods weren't convenient for others to see, and three knights really couldn't help; simple combat qi attacks were useless against such Ethereal Creatures.

Dasleen pulled on Ivy's arm. "Let's not delay the Master Wizard, or it will be trouble once the sun goes down."

It wasn't that they didn't want to help, but they truly couldn't; they couldn't even deal with the ability that rendered their bodies immobile.
