350: Chapter 350 Encountering a Fellow Traveler

Nie Ning followed the black iron blocks and quickly found a large door, with a long corridor on the other side.

A Second-Tier Wizard was also hiding in the corridor.

Upon seeing Nie Ning, the other party was scared out of his wits and hurriedly ran toward the other end.

But Nie Ning was quick-eyed and swift-handed, using Ice Chains to drag him back.

He turned to look at the 'safe' door made of black iron blocks; there was a glass window on it through which the general situation inside could be seen.

Nie Ning looked inside but didn't see anyone.

"Is the person not here?"

Though it was a bit strange, seeing the dark red metal blocks in the corner, Nie Ning put Korda, the maker of the nether spirit gold, to the back of his mind.

"It seems this trip isn't a total waste after all."

A smile appeared on Nie Ning's face, and he immediately turned to the captured wizard: "Where is the key to open the door?"

"No, no, I don't have the key. The key has always been kept by Young Master Jerry."

The Second-Tier Wizard stammered.

Hearing this, Nie Ning's expression turned cold: "In that case, you're useless. I'll have to ask you to die."

As he spoke, the Ice Chains dragged the Second-Tier Wizard outward.

The Second-Tier Wizard panicked immediately, not expecting Nie Ning to be so decisive, and hurriedly shouted, "Wait, wait! I have the key, I have the key!"

Nie Ning curled his lip.

This guy really took him for a fool.

With dozens of people in the manor, the fact that this guy could hide here suggested he wasn't someone simple.

Sure enough, just a couple of words baited him out.

Nie Ning beckoned with his finger, and the Ice Chains dragged him back again.

Then, Nie Ning looked at the Second-Tier Wizard with an impatient expression.

"Hurry up, or your end will be just like those people upstairs. I believe you wouldn't want to know what happened to them."

"Of course, I'll open it for you right away."

Under Nie Ning's pressure, the Second Ring Wizard wiped the sweat from his forehead and hurriedly took out a white jade token from his spatial ring.

As the token touched the iron door, a flash of light swept across the vault's surface, and then the iron door opened with a 'click'.

Nie Ning pounced toward the nether spirit gold in the corner with a look of joy.

But suddenly, Nie Ning paused.

Slowly turning his head, he saw a person with several black spider legs growing from their body huddled in the corner, staring at him with a look of terror.

Nie Ning frowned slightly, thinking it was a Corruptor, but he didn't sense any Power of Corruption from the person.

From the looks of it, it should be a biologically modified human.

What was even stranger was that the person had no strength at all, only a faint aura of a mutated beast.

"An ordinary person?"

Nie Ning carefully observed the person's half-modified face, vaguely feeling as if he had seen it somewhere before.

As a memory merged with a picture, Nie Ning instantly knew who the person was.

Korda!

The maker of the nether spirit gold!

But how did he end up looking like this ghostly mess?

Nie Ning gave Korda a very strange look.

"Bang, bang..."

Just then, the sound of explosions outside interrupted Nie Ning's thoughts.

"Back so soon?"

Nie Ning's expression darkened. Without dwelling further on Korda's issue, he hurried to the corner and put more than ten pieces of nether spirit gold into his spatial ring.

Before leaving, Nie Ning glanced at Korda.

This guy was a treasure; with Korda in hand, there would be a steady supply of nether spirit gold.

Whether or not nether spirit gold was effective for making the Mirror Pupil, he needed a large amount of it for research.

Although he had already taken quite a bit, no one knew if it would be enough.

At this thought, Nie Ning snapped his fingers and directly froze Korda in ice.

After knocking out the Second-Tier Wizard at the door, Nie Ning rushed up through the hole he had come from.

But just as he returned to the surface, Nie Ning saw the manor staff who had been hanging on the ice net lying in pools of blood.

Meanwhile, Xiao Guang was fighting two Tier 5 Transcendents and three Tier 4 Transcendents.

Nie Ning frowned slightly; they weren't the manor guards he knew.

"Hand over half of the nether spirit gold, and we'll go our separate ways!"

One of the Fifth-Order Wizards shouted at Nie Ning, who had returned to the surface.

Hearing this, Nie Ning knew that these people had the same goal as him—they were also here to snatch the nether spirit gold!

No wonder. He had felt it was strange earlier; Xiao Guang shouldn't be so violent, so how could he have suddenly killed so many people?

Thinking about it now, it must have been these people who killed them all.

"Of course. We're all here for the nether spirit gold. Let's stop now, before the manor guards arrive and we can't leave."

Nie Ning took out a piece of nether spirit gold and gestured for the five of them to stop.

Hearing this, the five of them joined forces to force Xiao Guang back, then looked at Nie Ning with wary expressions.

"There are only twenty pieces of nether spirit gold in total. It shouldn't be a problem if you take ten, right?"

As he spoke, Nie Ning took out ten pieces of nether spirit gold.

Now was not the time to worry about gains and losses; leaving this place quickly was the most important thing.

Besides, he had Korda in his hands; making more wouldn't be a big deal.

The five people opposite didn't take the nether spirit gold. One of the Tier 5 Knights stepped forward, his eyes fixed on Nie Ning's spatial ring.

"Kid, I want to see your spatial ring."

The others didn't speak, clearly not trusting Nie Ning either.

Seeing this, Nie Ning shrugged and put the nether spirit gold away again.

Then, under their confused gazes, he used his ice control ability to create an ice throne and lay down on it.

To Nie Ning, if they didn't believe him, then so be it; everyone could just wait here, and whoever got anxious first was a bastard!

The group widened their eyes, not expecting Nie Ning to strike such a pose, showing no intention of even bargaining with them.

"You...!"

One of the Tier 4 Transcendents couldn't stand it and was about to step forward to rebuke Nie Ning when Xiao Guang blocked the way in front of him.

Facing a fifth-rank like Xiao Guang, although he was no match for the group of them, it would take a lot of effort to kill him.

By the time the manor guards returned, it would be difficult to escape.

Both sides fell into an eerie silence.

Feeling the time becoming increasingly urgent, the five Transcendents opposite were finally the first to lose their patience.

"Kid, you win. Give us ten pieces of nether spirit gold, and we'll go our separate ways."

The Fifth-Order Wizard couldn't hold back and spoke to the person with the strange cat head.

"Too late. Now it's eight pieces. Take it or leave it."

Nie Ning sat up and took out eight pieces of nether spirit gold from his spatial ring.

Seeing this, the others were instantly filled with rage.

"We're all in this life-risking business; why should you get so much!"

One of them pointed at Nie Ning and shouted angrily.

Nie Ning almost laughed out of anger upon hearing this.

"I need to correct you: you were the ones who killed these people. Your killing even implicated me. Leaving a few pieces for you is just so you don't leave empty-handed. Don't be ungrateful!"
