126: Chapter 126 New Version of Fusion Magic

The moment the Elemental Sphere exploded, it burst into a shower of drifting points of light.

But under the influence of mana and the Runic Formula, as if a gentle breeze had blown past, all the scattered points of light converged once more in Nie Ning's palm.

As the mana circulated normally, the points of light slowly gathered back into a sphere.

But Nie Ning could sense that these points of light had not turned back into an Elemental Sphere.

Instead, every eight elements synthesized into a single point of light, and then these points were drawn to each other, causing them to converge again.

This was a very unique elemental structure.

With a thought from Nie Ning, the points of light scattered again and, in an instant, transformed into a half-meter-long Dazzling Flying Arrow.

Shifting his gaze to a nearby new cabinet, the Dazzling Flying Arrow shot out and pierced through it, even leaving a hole in the rune-reinforced stone room.

Then, at Nie Ning's summons, the Dazzling Flying Arrow flew back through the hole.

"It can even be used like this?"

Seeing this, Nie Ning couldn't help but widen his eyes.

Nie Ning turned to look at the Runic Formula beneath him; it remained unchanged, just as before.

Yet it was just that miraculous—this spell had actually succeeded!

After a moment of contemplation, Nie Ning realized he seemed to have fallen into a misconception.

Elemental Sphere!

Why did it have to be an Elemental Sphere?

As his foundation, he had always believed that an Elemental Sphere should look like a sphere, so he had only thought about how to fuse all attributes into a single ball.

But thinking about it now, the encyclopedia of elemental spheres only recorded the fusion of five elements; anything beyond that was untested.

And when he had branded the Runic Formula last time, it was actually forcibly imprinted into his Sea of Consciousness using the Power of Corruption.

Since it was a solidified sorcery, it only needed mana activation to function normally, with almost no need to consider stability issues.

It was for this very reason that he had assumed the Five Element Orb was a sorcery that could be used normally.

If a wizard with a five-element talent were to try it now, Nie Ning felt the possibility of them being blown away was very high.

In fact, the fusion patterns in the Encyclopedia of Elements were correct, but the subsequent fusion strategies were flawed.

One had to balance the particles of each attribute and then combine them layer by layer, rather than using Spiritual Power to forcibly bind them together.

"Hmm..."

Nie Ning rubbed his chin, lost in thought.

In such a bizarre way, he had actually created a Super Fusion Sorcery; the number of fused elements alone was beyond what conventional sorcery could compare to.

"Could this be considered dumb luck?"

After thinking for a while, Nie Ning could only attribute it to luck.

Because normally, he should have been blown away by now.

But the most important thing was the Power of Corruption; Nie Ning had a love-hate relationship with this energy.

The trouble caused by the Power of Corruption was not small, but its help was equally significant.

If he had forcibly fused them according to his own ideas just now, he would likely have failed halfway through.

It was through such a coincidence that the Power of Corruption fused all the attributes together, and the bursting Elemental Sphere became the very key to the formation of this sorcery.

"Next, I should carefully consider the matter of advancement."

The hardest part was settled; now he could proceed with the advancement according to his plan.

At this thought, Nie Ning stood up, intending to go out and make some preparations.

But looking at the Dazzling Flying Arrow floating before him, Nie Ning immediately realized something was wrong.

"Oh no!"

*Bang!*

The Dazzling Flying Arrow exploded, and Nie Ning was once again sent flying.

Compared to before, Nie Ning's injuries were even more severe this time.

From his face to his chest, he was blasted into a bloody mess.

Most of his ribs were broken, his right hand was blown off, and his internal organs had sustained varying degrees of damage.

*Cough, cough...*

Nie Ning couldn't help but spit out two mouthfuls of blood.

His gaze shifted to the formation; the Runic Formula on it had been destroyed.

As a wave of dizziness washed over him, Nie Ning's head slumped, and he passed out.

...

By the time Nie Ning woke up again, it was already morning.

Looking at the familiar ceiling, he found himself covered with a blanket in Audrey's room.

Looking beside him, Ivy was curled up on top of the blanket.

Nie Ning touched his face; sharp stabs of pain radiated from it, making him grimace.

Thinking back to what had happened, Nie Ning sighed at his own bad luck.

He had been so engrossed in thoughts of advancement that he forgot he had cast the Eightfold Fusion Sorcery using the power of the Elemental Pool.

Consequently, he had relaxed his Spiritual Power, causing the formation to lose control and detonate the sorcery.

More importantly, he had no protection whatsoever; relying on the physical constitution of a Great Knight was ultimately insufficient, and that explosion had nearly sent him to meet his great-grandmother.

Nie Ning stood up gently, covered Ivy with the blanket, and then left the Wizard Tower.

Walking to the entrance, he checked and found that the Wizard Tower's Defensive Formation indeed had a problem.

No wonder Ivy could enter the Wizard Tower; the previous explosion had likely damaged the Elemental Pool's Runic Formula, causing the Defensive Formation to fail.

However, he didn't have time to fix it now, and not knowing how long he had been asleep, he had to head back to the manor to check.

...

Hervais Manor.

Just as he returned to Norma's building, he saw Norma standing at the entrance.

Nie Ning covered his face, trying to pretend he hadn't seen her, but Norma blocked his way.

"What happened to your face?"

Norma asked, looking at Nie Ning's face in confusion.

Although the injuries on Nie Ning's face had mostly healed, many scabbed scars remained.

Nie Ning could only use Sign Language to tell Norma that he had tripped while walking.

"You probably fell off a cliff, more like."

A glint of cunning appeared in Norma's eyes as she continued before Nie Ning could respond, "Aren't you a Deaf-mute? You can hear me speaking?"

Hearing this, Nie Ning's body stiffened.

The pain from his injuries had made him a bit muddled; he had actually forgotten that he was supposed to be 'unable to hear.'

But Nie Ning's mind worked quickly; he used Sign Language to tell Norma that he had recently learned Lip-reading, so he could understand a bit of what they said.

"Is that so?"

Norma leaned forward, staring intently into Nie Ning's eyes.

Seeing Nie Ning's shameless 'dead pig that doesn't fear boiling water' expression, Norma pursed her lips. "True, as a wizard, you are indeed more studious than most."

Nie Ning shrugged, using Sign Language to indicate he didn't understand what Norma was saying.

Norma rolled her eyes, resisting the urge to cleave Nie Ning in two with a sword, and turned to walk toward the castle where Lilith was.

Seeing Norma leave, Nie Ning couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.

Over time, one would find that being unable to speak could save one from more than ninety percent of troubles.

Especially with someone as extraordinarily shrewd as Norma, Nie Ning didn't want to talk to her at all; once he spoke, the two would definitely end up in an argument and then a fight.

By not speaking, Norma was actually powerless against him; as long as he ignored her, everything would be fine.

Then Nie Ning tidied up, tended to the garden while Lilith was still asleep, and then immediately found a place to hide.

Given his self-healing ability, the injuries on his face should recover in about half a day.
